Felicity finds Xander on accident, then loses him again....on accident (A Long Patrol and Halyard log)
Halyard Village: Indoor Market

Luckily for the residents of this small fishing village, the fish market is
kept separate - over on the docks. The market here is... everything else!
The market is a wide open indoor space, the ceilings peaked, the beams that
support the structure naked. Stalls line three of the walls, with the usage
set at first come first served. To get the really good spaces, one must
arrive rather early in the morning. The lesser spaces, just small carts and
tables in the center, are left for the later risers. The front of the
building is completely open to the air, providing a wide entrance for folks
to arrive and depart.

Badgers: Xander (disguised), male.
Wildcats: Jedrick, male.
Hares: Felicity, female.
Jedrick looks around the market place as he keeps a cloak on around him. "Just stay close, I need supplies for home"
Xander nods, he also has a cloak on, hood up as he looks around but stays by Jedrick's side. He looks at some shells on one table and frowns.
Felicity is in the village on her day off! Entering the market, she smiles and shakes her head as she gets accosted by not 1, not 2, but /3/ merchants, all trying to get her to buy their stuff. She continues on, unwittingly getting closer to the cloaked pair. She is not wearing a cloak; it's too nice out. "'Ow much are these?" She asks a vendor selling little wooden nesting dolls.
Jedrick looks over to the hare and rolls his eyes as he makes sure the cub is near him. He then goes to pay for some apples, cheeses and bread close by.
Xander picks up a shell and studies it, he blinks at a familiar voice and takes a quick peek over at...he gasps and bumps into a cart of melons and almost knocks them over, he mutters a sorry as the ferret very grumbly shoos him away and fixes the area he messed up "Hate...kids" The ferret mutters.
Felicity jerks her head around and peers at the disturbance. Stepping forward, she picks up a few melons and returns them to the cart -- always helpful. "I say, are you alright, love?" She asks the young badger, not recognizing him just yet.
Jedrick turns as he steps between them "He is just fine and should be closer to me so sorry...miss" He sends a glare at Xander and lays a paw on his sword before walking towards some fish muttering something towards the badger.
Xander frowns and backs up looking down, he nods to the claoaked wildcat but other wise stays quiet as he knows the hare, he remembers her.
Felicity is suddenly suspicious. Still unaware of who the little one is, she stands and follows the pair. "I say, that's no way to treat anybeast, especially a....Dibbun, wot!" Unable to see his face, she's just guessing that the badger is a Dibbun by looking at his size. Some of the merchants start to quietly pack up some of their more breakable wares, afraid that there might be a fight brewing.
Jedrick glares at the hare "You need to stay out of my business, we are simply two beasts shopping and nothing else and I rather a woodlander stay away from me"
Xander frowns and then takes a deep breath as this is his friend and he needs to say something he doesn't care "DO not be mean to her" He says quietly as he can. He looks at Jedrick "We can...come back later sir"
Felicity, however, has very good hearing. She may not be able to make out the words, but she can hear the voice. "Wait..." she suddenly leaps forward and goes to yank the badger's hood off, grabbing her sword hilt at the same time.
Jedrick growls and goes to push the hare into that cart of melons, either the hare will keep her balance or melons will go all over and she loses her balance.
Xander frowns and backs up, he goes to block the hare's attempt to take the hood off, more out of fear than anything else.
Felicity does neither! Or, rather, she almost loses her balance, but then springs back. Drawing her sword, she gets into an at-ready position. So much for her day off. "Xander, love, is that you?" She's now sort of making a guess to try and get a reaction. She starts to very slowly try and get inbetween the 2 beasts. Some other shoppers (and a few merchants) scream and dive for cover. "As a member of the Long Patrol I order you both to remove your hoods, wot!" She is not wearing her uniform, so they won't know that she's just a lowly private...
Jedrick has his own sword drawn now, "I say you leave...now before trouble starts, I would hate to have to slay anyone in front of so many beasts so be a good rabbit and walk away now."
Xander backs up and hides under a fish cart and frowns, the question is not answered as he just watches for now.
Oh, Jedrick just had to say the R word, didn't he? Felicity bares her teeth and kicks a melon out of the way. "I'm not goin' anywhere, pussy cat! You're obviously up to somethin' wrong, or y'wouldn't be arguin' with me so much." She is ready for anything now.
Jedrick steps back, he takes a quick look around and his tail wags behind him "Go away that is my only warning"
Xander frowns and looks ready to bolt if needed but fear also makes him stay put.
Felicity follows the wildcat, keeping a close watch on his every move. "Or you'll do what, kitty? I've faced bigger foes'n you afore, and more of 'em, too. Y'don't scare me!" Yet. She adds that last word silently, always keeping in mind that the cat may have some tricks up his sleeve.
Jedrick chuckles "If only my brother was here, then again you be dead by now." He finally sees Xander and goes give an order "To me now boy!"
Xander whimpers and slowly gets out of hiding and stands beside the wildcat, he looks down at the ground and frowns too afraid to say a word, to either of them out of fear what could happen.
Felicity grabs a melon and throws it with surprisingly good aim at the wildcat's face, then leaps forward and attacks!! Swinging her sword, she tries to slice his arm while getting in too close for him to use his longsword very well. She then kicks out at him, hoping to hit him in the chest.
Jedrick was not looking for a melon to the face and oofs as he falls backwards and the hood comes off, he quickly places it back off and goes to grab the badger "We leave now!" The sword barely misses his ear.
Xander gasps and about falls backwards and falls against the fish cart and onto his back, the hedgehog screams as his fresh fish falls over, the badger struggles and his hood falls to his shoulders to show who it is, he frowns and quickly gets beside the wildcat "I'll go with you just leave her alone!"
Felicity gasps slightly, then redoubles her efforts to hurt the wildcat. "Xander! 'Ow did you get a 'hold of 'im, you monstah! Let 'im go!" She kicks with her powerful hind legs again, trying to knock the cat over. Then, seeing that the cat is grabbing for the badger, she tries to stab him!
Stabbing at the cat, she hopes to help the badger get away!
Jedrick moves sideways but he is stabbed in the arm and goes to swipe his claws at the haremaid with his left paw.
Xander frowns and looks unsure whether to run or not as he doesn't want to see his friend hurt, but he also doesn't want to get hurt himself. He could easily rush back to the house, that would work maybe a he edges away from the two fighting beasts.
Felicity gets scratched, despite her best dodging attempts. Yelling in pain, she goes to try and stab the wildcat again as blood pours down her arm.
Jedrick looks at the badger "Go to the house...now boy or else this day will end badly and I don't mean for me" He looks at the haremaid and jumps back and swings with his blade again "No long patrol hare is gonna ruin my day"
Xander nods "Yes...s...sir" And he runs off towards the house that the wildcat has, he disappears through the crowd and its left up to how trusted he is if he went to the house or went elsewhere.
Felicity barely manages to avoid getting cut open by the sword, but it still slits the front of her tunic. "Oh, yes ah will! Ya just ruined a brand-new tunic!" How dare he! As Xander runs off, she goes to kick some melons and a fish under the cat's feet. "'Ow dare you enslave a free creature!" She is assuming that the badger is sort of a slave. Again, she doesn't really know.
Jedrick narrows his eyes and keeps his sword out "Maybe he is just some beast who stays with me, and oh no I ruined the bunnies tunic...its the end of the blooming world now"
Felicity is furious, but is doing her best to keep control of herself. "Then why does 'e seem to be afraid of you?!" She grabs another melon and chucks it at the cat, then throws a fish at him. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and his sword is longer than hers....
Jedrick grins and slices at the melon and lets the fish hit him in the chest and laughs "Fear is a lovely thing isn't it? It shapes a beast and makes them stronger sometimes...trust me that badger cub is tougher than he looks and he will be a great fighter one day...for me"
"Love and kindness are bettah shapers than fear could evah be, you Monstah! I'm warnin' you..." Felicity charges, then drops to the ground and rolls, doing her best to avoid the large blade. Will he turn tail and run?
Jedrick growls as his ears go flat "I am waring you...haremaid, crossing me is a bad idea and he is mine, I own him!" He looks up and grins as he swings the blade ...wait above her? Above her is a lot of hanging fish and wrapped up seeds or maybe spices, he chuckles as he jumps back and will disappear into the crowd, but not before he causes a cart of apples to spill and beasts slip and fall "Noooo my apples!!!!!"
Felicity yells and falls to the ground as she gets covered by the hanging thingies. "No, Xander! No..." She lays down and covers her eyes. "No..." She has to save him....somehow....
Will she be able to save Xander? Or will Jedrick manage to get away forever???
