Salamandastron: Level Two

  • -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

You are in a medium-sized circular 'room' from which several passages

branch off. Each passage fades off around a twisting corner, winding

around in the bowels of the mountain. One passage, however, hardly more

than a short, straight hall, ends abruptly with a large wooden door - the

forge room.

Hares: Felicity 'Lissie', female. Kate, female. Adrian, male.

Mice: Leon, male. DoraRose, female.

Leon walks out of the library, where he has been the past couple hours. He glances around to see if anyone is around before turning down one of the hallways.

"Leon!" Dora comes down the stairs, smiling. Felicity exits the dormitory, yawning. Looking between the 2 mice, she smiles, but doesn't interrupt the conversation. Rose jogs to catch up to her husband and goes to slip her arm through his. "I hope your day is going well."

Leon nods as he manages a smile "I am doing ok today, I just got talking to someone that may be coming with us to Redwall, but I don't know if they are or not." He will hug her if she wants a hug. "They sort of fell asleep in the library but I think they will be ok, there is other beasts in there after all"

DoraRose accepts the hug. "Oh? Oh, did you meet Xander? Isn't he adorable?" Felicity closes the dormitory door and goes to try and slip past the 2 mice.

Leon nods "Yes I meet him, he is curious thats for sure. Also learned he dislikes storms." He looks back to the library and then to Dorarose "There was a storm the day before he came here"

And then along came Kate. It was as much a surprise to her as anyone else when the obese hare stumbles upon the group, nose planted into a book as she is lost into some other literary world. She comes walking towards the beasts with out ever actually seeing them.

Lissie just happens to be in the chubby hare's direct path. She's mildly embarrassed about how much Dora obviously loves and respects her husband, and is also not really paying much attention to her surroundings. If neither of them wake up from their little private worlds, they're going to crash! Rose nods soberly. "I heard that. He's probably traumatized. Did he seem to trust you? He didn't seem to really like me when I talked to him." She seems a little sad about this, but she knows that, in time, he'll come to trust her. She's sure of it!

Leon answers "I am not sure, I moved slowly and keep my distance while he was in a chair. He asked about the robes and I told him."

The hares seem destined to collide, oh the hare-manity! When at the last moment Kate pauses, moving around the offending obstacle and continuing on with her path.

She pauses again to lift her nose out of a book and glance at the other hare, "Fel? What are you doing in the library?" She pauses to glance about her surroundings, "What the heck do you do with the library!?"

Lissie jumps and brings her fists up as she leaps into a fighting stance! "Oh!" She relaxes and rests her palm on her forehead. "'Ello. You wandered out of the Library, I think." Rose smiles softly. "That's good! He was mostly just wanting his Momma when he saw me, so maybe that was why he didn't trust me..."

The fluffier hare scratches an ear, "Huh, appears I did." Kate hates it when that happens. She shrugs, "Well I'm here now. What are you lot doing on this level? And...when in the blazes did we get mice in the mountain?" It is possible the hare does not get out enough...just a possibility.

DoraRose watches as Leon has to leave and sighs. They were supposed to go on a date to Halyard, but he got called away. Stupid random hare making him do boring things. Felicity looks at the other hare incredulously. ".....they're the Ambassadors from Redwall. Remember? I was watching for their return when you.....yeah..." She referring to the portly hare's seizure, but she's trying to not say it directly. "You brought me a snack, remember?"

Yet another hare comes jogging along the corridor. "Hello, Ladies," he calls out, "Wot's 'appenin'?" he salutes the mouse.

The hare blinks in surprise, staring at Fel for a long moment, "Oh! Riiiight. Wow, have they been here this whole time? Wow. Uh, it's still the same month, right?...season?" The hare passes Adrian a salute as he goes by. Curse the health conscious beasts of the mountain Kate thinks. Them with their healthy...conscious-y ways.

DoraRose nods to the male hare. "Oh, nothing you need to worry about, thank you." Felicity smiles and shakes her head. "It's still wintah, but no, it's a different month. You don't leave the library much, do you?"

Kate rolls her eyes, "Pfft, Gal I hardly leave the mountain. Never had much reason to after the, well, anyway. Point is it's nice and warm in there, provided you bring the right coat, and it's close to the mess hall...and the infirm. So...I never have much reason NOT to be there..." The hare crosses her arms, fidgeting her tail. She seems defensive about the topic.

Lissie puts her paws up in what she hopes is a soothing gesture. "It's alright, no worries, wot! I just think that per'aps you should, y'know, maybe 'ang out with othah 'ares more....like with me and Julia." She smiles winningly.

Kate crosses her arms in a very 'no' fashion. A glimmer of resistance can be seen in the hares anti social mood, "WeeEEeell, I do spend a lot of time in the library...but I'm so /busy/. With...stuff..." She rubs the back of her neck as she glances at a suddenly very interesting spot on the floor.

Adrian waves again. "Hello ladies."

Adrian crosses his arms. "Have either of you does seen Piffle recently?" He stands patiently otherwise, as they seem to have some sort of thing going on.

DoraRose goes to tap the male hare on the arm. "What does she look like? I may have seen her." Lissie goes to gently rest her paw on her friend's arm. "Love, I'm not meanin' loads of othah 'ares; just me and Julia, and maybe sometimes my Uncle Flint and a few othah beasts, but not a whole bunch. I don't want you 'avin' no idea what's goin' on 'ere at the Mountain, especially with important things like this."

"Piffle?" Kate raises an eyebrow, "No, afraid I haven't seen her since last week...I think it was last week." She chuckles nervously, pulling away from Fel, "You won't believe how easy it is to lose track of time in the parts of the mountain with out windows..." She sighs, all she wants to do is sit back and read books until she dies in obscurity and some poor hare stumbles upon her bleached forgotten bones somewhere in the back of the library...

Well, that thought certain made her make up her mind. "You know what, you're right. I do need to get out more..."

Adrian pauses. "Wot does she look like? Why... She's a vision o' loveliness... the most beautiful doe in the whole mountain... She has gorgeous brown eyes, and long locks, wot... Have ya seen 'er?"

Oh, for the love of sanity. Dora narrows her eyes and sighs. "I need more details on, like, her height and fur colour." Lissie grins. "What do you think we should do, then?"

"Throw an anchor on our love sick friend before he floats off into the sunset." Kate rolls her eyes. Bucks. Kate supposed he couldn't help it, being a hare. "Did you have a jog to get back to Private? You wouldn't want to end up growing any pudgier than you already are!" Kate passes a wink towards her fellow doe. "And some extra sleep, I bet no doe is going to find those bag's under yer eyes to be attractive."

Adrian looks down at his trim form. "Wot are ya gettin' on at? I'll have ya know I'm as fit as a fiddle, a Runnah, wot!" He shakes a paw. "An' I sleep bally well fine, too. Cor, wot's wrong wi' ya?"

DoraRose pretends to have a coughing fit as the chubby hare says basically what the mouse was thinking. Lissie covers her mouth with a paw. She doesn't look like she's smiling, but she might just be a good actress. "Oh, Kate, darling...." and that's about as far as she seems able to go.

Kate is hardly phased. She steps closer, "Oh, those rings under yer eyes speak a different tune wot? And all that flab." She goes to wrap an arm around Adrian's shoulder, jabbing him in the gut with a free paw, "Take it from me laddie, it start's simple, a few extra carrots at supper time, a few missed jogs here and there and soon your belt starts getting a notch tighter. It's so gradual you hardly notice! In the mirror you look fine but..."

The hare seems to examine his fur, "And your fur is starting to grow a bit thin. Have you been washing regularly?"

Adrian seems indignant, oofing as his stomach is poked. "Hey now, wot's the big idea? I'm a Runnah! An' I wash daily, dang it." The buck tries to pull away.

DoraRose coughs again and manages to say, "Oh, I'm sure he'll be fine...." Felicity bites her lip behind her paw and says nothing for now.

The obese hare cackles as she walks away, "Oh sure sure, he'll be fine. I hear Piffle likes her hares a bit fatter anyway. And the color red. But only a mad beast would color their fur red to attract a lady, right?" Damage done, the hare continues to move up the hallway, smiling and giggling as she goes.

Oh, Piffle was going to kill her next time she saw her.

[Adrian says,] "Red? Wot on earth? She likes blue..."

DoraRose rolls her eyes and struggles to come up with something to say to encourage the poor buck. It's a bit of a challenge. Lissie turns and goes to follow her friend. "Whyd'ya do that? I mean, seriously, why?"

The hare slowly turns to her friend, shadows seeming to cover her face as her eyes light up, "Because I'm EVIL." but surely that is because of the lighting, right? Then waves to the buck as she walks away, "Red, blue, doesn't make much of a difference. I'm sure she will like you for your personality...possibly. Anyway, take care!"

Lissie stares at her friend. "Maybe I shouldn't 'ave you 'ang out with Julia.....you'd both become more evil..." Dora goes to lay a paw on the male hare's arm. "Don't worry, she's just trying to mess with your mind. I don't know Piffle, but I'm sure she'll like you for you." See? She's trying to be reassuring. How well it's working has yet to be seen.

Adrian looks down at the mouse. "Should I dye myself red, really, you think? Do females like that?"

"It beats dyeing your fur blue!" Kate yells from around the corner then disappears. She wipes a tear from her eye she is laughing so hard. Evil? Maybe. Fun? Absolutely.

Thanks alot, Kate.. Rose sighs and smiles reassuringly. "No, absolutely not. If a beast likes you because you've dyed your fur or changed who you are in any way, then you shouldn't spend time with them; those beasts are toxic. Just be yourself." Lissie waits until she's turned the corner with her friend, then starts giggling along with her.

Adrian smiles. "Thanks, Ms. Dora. You are invaluable. You should meet Piffle. She is amazing."

DoraRose smiles softly. "Hopefully I will, someday. And it was my pleasure. That hare was just trying to mess with you; ignore her comments. I think you're just fine just being /you/." Hey, she's nothing if not nice.

Adrian nods, standing up straighter again. "That makes me feel better, really. ...Is there anything you or your friends need, by any chance? I've been inexcusably distracted lately, my apologies."

DoraRose smiles softly, then rolls her eyes. "Sure, if you can make all these ridiculous Recruits and Trainees stop following me around, asking about my axe, and make Leon take a break, that'd be great." The look on her face makes it seem like she's joking, but her tone of voice hints that she might be being serious.
