Daddy got lost in the blizzard and the bat hasn't seen him. Awesome. :P

The scent in the air notably changes within the village compared to the sweet fragrant flowery smells outside the east gates. Stale air, rotting food and the occasionally not particularly pleasant smelling inhabitant all assault the nose until it gets used to things. Mercenary guards patrol the high wooden palisade wall separates the vermin village from the outside world, the only break in sight in the form of the main gate to the village to the east. North of the path one of the few stone buildings in the village stands a little run down, now an inn it butts up to the side of the tavern and boasts many beds available, at least that's probably what the sign says, much like the building it's old and the beast who wrote it has probably died of old age long after the paint was last touched up. West finally buildings begin to spring up everywhere and the path widens into a large clearing at the centre of the village.

Blisa the cat and Ferdinand the ferret. Kaze the bat.

Kaze comes flying into the village, exploring is fun when there is no storm around and he can look around. That and flying is a lot better than walking in the snow and this place is intresting to him.

Blisa is trudging in the snow, which is deep for most beasts, but for her petite fram, it's like tryign to walk through a snow wall. Fortunatly, her bodyguard Ferdinand is here, clearing a path for her. They seem to be heading ot the gatehouse.

Kaze sees the two beasts and flaps down to them, he lands in a tree and hangs upside down as he looks between them " A ferret clearing de snow for a kitty?"

Blisa is startled, then she smiles at the sight of an up-side-down bat. "Yes, well, I'm kind of small, so it's hard for me. And he volunteered." Ferdinand waves and continues to clear a path with a dirt shovel. Farther down the road, near the residential areas, more beasts can be seen and heard clearing snow.

Kaze nods "Snow is not good and Kaze dislikes it cause its cold. All over it's cold."

Blisa says, "I like snow," then changes the subject with slight hesitation. "Have you seen a black male cat in your flight? He has a patch over one eye. His name is Scioto." Ferdinand pauses in his shoveling to listen.

Kaze shakes his head "Not remembering no felines...seen otter and badger and a fox with snow stuck to his body....nope no black cats with eye patches, nope Kaze is sorry"

Blisa looks beyond disappointed, but she tries to stay polite. "Well, thank you, anyway. I appreciate it. If you do see him, please let me know if you can. He's my father, and the Cheiftain of this village." Ferdinand starts shoveling again.

Kaze nods and tilts his head "Then why chieftain not here?"

Blisa shrugs. "I don't know. The guards said that shortly before the blizzard hit he went out, and then he never came back. I'm...I hope nothing bad happened..." She blinks rapidly, tryign not to cry.

Kaze says, "Weather is bad yes, snow blow all over and cover everything in sight almost"

Blisa kicks the snow, sending sparkles flying, then changes the subject again. "My name's Blisa, by the way. My bodyguard's name is Ferdinand. Might I ask your name?" Ferdinand pauses in his shoveling long enough to wave, then continues on. He's almost cleared a path to the gatehouse.

Kaze smiles as he answers "I am Kaze...Kaze Eagar Longears Willowson De Waterwing."

Blisa's eyes widen. "Oh...my. You have as many names as a hare. While I only have 2....my first name, and then I gave myself a last name of Wyrmtamer." Ferdinand chuckles at the long name, then smiles as he reaches the door to the gatehouse and knocks on it. A city guard opens it, and the 2 have a quiet conversation.

Kaze grins, "Kaze likes his long name...long names, short names both are good to have it says you are you and no one else is you"

Blisa smiles a little. "I like that. It says who you are and no one else is you. That makes sense."

Kaze nods and then falls into the snow pile and pops back up and shakes his head as he gets onto the clear path "AAhhhhh...cold!"

Blisa gasps to hide a laugh, then asks, "Are you alright? Good thing there was snow there to break your fall....you could've gotten seriously injured."

Kaze nods again "Kaze is ok, just fine snow is soft and not hard which is good..ice is hard though"

Blisa nods as she goes to help brush snow off the bat. "Yes, ice is hard...unless it's thin ice, then you fall through and either drown, freeze to death, or get rescued and so only almost freeze to death." Ferdinand finishes his conversation with the city guard and comes back to the other 2.

Kaze frowns "Freezeing would be bad, very very bad and Kaze would not like it at all, rather be warm..." He looks at them "Have news where leader is? Kaze still look maybe?"

Ferdinand shakes his head. "No word of Thir Tcioto. The guardth are planning on thending out thearch partieth." Blisa sighs heavily. "And I have to stay here and run the village. Hang it!" she stomps her foot, looking ready to cry.

Kaze says, "Kaze can help look for the feline"

Blisa sniffs and smiles slightly. "Thank you. I would appreciate it allot." Ferdinand nods in aggreement. "Anybeatht that flieth would be a huge help. Thank you."

Kaze says, "Of course will fly high and low and north, south, east and west and find him"

Blisa smiles a little more, then snaps her fingers as she gets an idea. "Hey, maybe you should check at Redwall first! Surely he'd go there if he was caught out in a storm near there."

Kaze smiles large "Kaze knows where Redwall is! He was there when storm came, left when storm stopped as like said flying much better than walking or sinking in snow"

Blisa claps delightedly. "Oh, good. Thank you so much! I wish I had wings; It would be much better than slogging knee-deep through cold, wet snow. Although it is pretty."

Kaze nods "Yes pretty and holds hidden dangers sometimes"

Blisa tilts her head to one side, curiosity nibbling away at her. "Oh? Like what?" Ferdinand rolls his eyes. "Well, for one thing, it could hide half-frozen puddleth."

Kaze says, "like cold air and snow covers things on road and may cause you to trip on face"

Blisa giggles. "Well, somebeasts deserve it, so it'd be funny to watch." She has a sadistic streak about a mile wide, there. Ferdinand rolls his eyes, but he's smiling.

Kaze tilts his head and looks uneasy, yeah he will fly off now there are bugs to catch.
