Liam the pine marten. Blisa the cat and Ferdinand the ferret.

'Tis a fine day indeed in Ferravale, village of the vermin and other such creatures. And by fine day we of course mean blistering cold and windy. Not too many beasts are brave enough to venture out of their homes to the market place this day. For those with out homes it is a bit worse. One such beast, Liam Grey, is out and about spending his new found money on warmer clothing. His time spent in Fargo the merchants employment has been good for him. The young pine marten has fattened up a little, not enough to be called plump but enough that his ribs are no longer showing through his fur. The marten looks through the stalls of clothing set out with varying degrees of approval.

Blisa and Ferdinand are also some of the very few, brave beasts out on this cold, blustery day. The kitten spots the marten and runs over to him, bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet to keep warm. Ferdinand comes up and smiles warmly as his charge tugs on the martens' sleeve. "Hello, Mr. Gray!"

Liam snaps his head around, then down. Putting the winter coat back on its stall the pine marten gives a wide smile to the pair, "There is nothing that can brighten up a stormy day like the sight of good company. Blisa, Ferdinand! How are you two!" Tiliting his head to the side he asks, "And how are you enjoying the fine sunny weather we are having?" he says with a chuckle.

Blisa giggles. "I'm doing pretty well....yeah, I'm pretty good." Ferdinand nods politely. "I am well, too, thank you. And how are you doing?"

The skinny pine marten chuckles, "Oh you know me. I try to keep myself out of trouble. In fact, I even got a job with a weasel named Fargo helping him get his merchant business off the ground." He smiles and pats his stomach, "It's mostly running errands but it keeps me fed well enough." as if on cue the pine martens belly makes a loud rumble, "When he is here at least. Fargo went to take care of some business out of town and hasn't come back yet."

Blisa 'ohs' and nods. "I see. That's good...that you got a job, I mean. Is it hard?" Ferdinand looks around, not anticipating an attack, but ready for one nonetheless.

Liam chuckles, he notices the bodyguards anticipation but shrugs it off. It's the ferrets job to be paranoid. He still gets a chuckle remembering his lisp though. "It's just a job. Lifting, moving things. Now I don't mean to brag but I am pretty good at moving and lifting things." it's always hard to tell when or if the pine marten is joking or not.

Blisa nods and bounces on her toes again, rubbing her arms. She has a heavy blue long-sleeved floor-length dress on, over which she is wearing a knee-length green sweater with bell-shaped sleeves that go over her knuckles, and lovely red scarf with matching mittens and hat, heavy boots, and a black winter cloak with the hood pulled up and dark blue embroidery along the edges. She looks warm...to an extent. "Are you buying heavier clothes? Ferdinand is good at telling whether something is good quality."

Liam nods to the admittedly adorable looking kitten, "Trying to at least. To be honest though if I spend another week in Fargo's employment I will be fat enough to stay warm through two winters." Tilting his head to the side again the marten asks the body guard, "Blisa here tells me that you are good at finding things of good quality."

Blisa smiles as Ferdinand blushes slightly. "Well, I wouldn't thay I'm all that great..." He tugs his simple heavy black ankle-length cloak closer about himself, covering up his plain green guard's tunic and pants, both made of heavy-weight material. He stomps his booted foot and glares at the kitten from under his green hat and black cloak hood as she contradicts him, saying, "Oh, he's amazing! He's kept me from wasting money on so much crummy stuff."

Liam smiles at the ferrets discomfort, giving his stomach another pat he says, "Well, I wouldn't mind staying warm in winter with out looking like Fargo." He then gestures to the market around him, "Know of anywhere I can find a good coat?"

Ferdinand stamps his boot once more, then nods and waves the marten to follow him, revealing his green mittens and scarf. Blisa following, he goes over to another clothing stall. "Here." The vixen running the stall smiles and holds out a deep green coat, heavy and expertly made "...guaranteed to not split at the seams under normal wear." The ferret guard nods, indicating that the fox is not lying, but is telling the truth about her wares.

Liam looks over the coat, he wieghs his own money bag in his paw while rubbing his chin with his free paw. "It's looks...nice." He says simply, "What else do you have?" he asks the vixen.

Ferdinand shakes his head in warning as the vixen looks disappointed. "It's not expensive. 10 silver coins, or 5 coins and trade. You could do work for me for one morning for trade. The others I have are not so warm. Won't you reconsider?"

Liam rubs his chin, he decides it best not to haggle while shivering in the cold, "I suppose this will do for now." He opens the bag and tosses ten silver coins onto the merchants stall. He has two left in his bag. "Thank you Ferdinand. I'll be sure to put the coat to good use this winter."

Ferdinand nods as Blisa grabs his paw. "Hey, would you like to come to my house for tea, Mr. Liam?" the ferret nods and smiles warmly again.

Liam smiles as well, "Miss Blisa...I would be delighted." He throws his new coat on. It covers him like a tent but it does its duty. "Hmmm, this is kind of warm."

Blisa jumps up and down twice, then grabs Lima's paw and drags him and Ferdinand to her house, for tea and cookies and cakes and fruit cooked in a warm, sweet syrup...yum.
