I can probably and hopefully make that day, too! ![]()
Oh my word, this is hilarious xD
Poor Ferro has no idea what he's getting into xD
The archived site https://www.rwmuck.org/archive/index.html works almost exactly like the old forums, and you can find everything except for private posts on there. And all links to, like, other logs lead to their archived equivalents. I hope this helps ![]()
"Be our guest," wolverine edition xD
Oz as many friends, indeed. Eagles. Wolverines. Wolves. He's definitely one to take on an adventure, that's for sure xD
SCENE: Redwall Abbey pond
LOG:
Ferro has been here a couple hours and for the most part avoiding most beasts and some seem happy enough to avoid him as well, he is a little...creepy after after all.
Krisha wanders over to the monitor as she carries the badger cub Northstar and smiles "You're avoiding beasts, you don't have to do that you know. You were invited to come."
Thomas makes his way over toward the pond, using his walking stick to guide the way. It wouldn't do to trip over an unseen stone or run into another beast, after all.
Lacota is in the kitchen, preparing the feast, and therefore not really here at the pond.
Blisa has come to Redwall to meet with the Abbot and visit with a few beasts, and so she is dleighted about the upcoming feast! The Chieftain of Ferravale hadn't planned it that way, so she's just happy that it all worked out! The cat makes her way towards the pond, Ferdinand the ferret behind her. He's wearing the uniform of the guards of Ferravale, with the addition of a white band on his upper left arm, signifying that he is a bodyguard of the village's leader. She walks over to the monitor lizard, giving him a rare smile. "I hadn't realized you were here, Ferro. Good day."
Ferro nods, "I...came upon a requesssssssst...I am here fer a ssssssshort while only"
Krisha smiles and waves to the chieftain of Ferravale "Hello"
Madison, as it turns out, is already here. A breeze catches the errant reeds growing from the pond to reveal the squirrel, sat upon a weathered, simple chair, looking out over the water with a long-stemmed pipe held to her lips. A puff of smoke, and her amber eyes turn toward the gathering silently, free paw adjusting the collar of her shirt.
Thomas hears voices from the direction of the pond, and he waves. "Good afternoon, friends." Unfortunately, none of the voices sound familiar.
Blisa nods. "Well, I'm glad you're here, Ferro. Ah, good day, Krisha. Awr, is this your new daughter?" The feline actually saw the baby the other day when she visited the Blacksmith, but not when the adult badger had been around to gush over her. Ferdinand spies the squirrel and nods politely, then turns to the blind newcomer. "Hello, there! Come on over."
Thomas approaches the group, carefully making his way toward the pond. "Ah, hello. I don't believe we've met... You must be new to the Abbey."
The ferret smiles. "My name ith Ferdinand. I'm vithiting with Mith Blitha here. The ith the Chieftain of Ferravale, and I'm one of her bodyguardth." The young cat turns away from the baby badger and smiles up into the mouse's face. "And I am Blisa. It's nice to meet you. We are just visiting for a week."
Thomas feels about for something to sit upon, settling down on a log when he locates it. "Ah, well then, welcome. I am Thomas, or Thom. Whichever you prefer." He starts to greet the badgers, but they seem to be rather quiet, so he doesn't. "Have you been here before?"
Blisa, noting that the mouse is blind, tries to not rely upon her body language to communicate with him. "Oh, aye, but it's been a while. I actually lived here for a while when I was a Dibbun, and I try to visit whenever I can. I've had less time since I became Chieftain, however, so I'm happy to be here. Have you lived here long?" Ferdinand lets the cat do the talking, presumably because of his lisp.
Thomas sets his walking stick aside, within easy reach. "Several months now. Only a resident, not a member of the Order, or anything. I don't think being a member is quite my thing, to be honest. But, if I can live here, that suits me fine.... At least, that is, until I decide to start travelling again." He turns his head toward the direction of Blisa's voice. "Chieftain, though? Where of? I might know the place."
Blisa cocks an eyebrow slightly. "Ferravale. I'm sorry, I thought we had said that. I'm the Chieftain of Ferravale." Ferdinand asks concernedly, "Do you travel alone?" The ferret thinks that it's unwise for blind people to travel alone.
Thomas laughs. "Why yes, I travel alone. Think you that I am helpless, sir? I know Mossflower quite well, from a time before I lost my sight. I still remember." He smiles with amusement, now turning his attention to Blisa once more. "Ferravale, yes. I've been there a few times. Interesting place. Quite different from Redwall."
While Ferdinand mumbles some apologies, Blisa smiles. "I would say extremely different. Honestly, even though the Abbey is bigger than Ferravale, I think Benar has less stress than I do. Vermin tend to get into more....mischief than you woodlanders do."
Oz makes his way over to the pond, he looks like he could use a serious nap as he is tired. The dibbuns are with a couple others...well all but a couple mice dibbuns that followed him.
Thomas nods at Blisa. "Yes, I can imagine." He then smiles at Ferdinand. "You needn't feel too embarrassed. It was a valid concern. I would possibly ask the same, were the roles reversed..."
Ferdinand sighs. "Thankth. I tend to worry. What would you do if you were attacked?" Blisa spots the badger and waves at him. "Hia, Papa Oz!"
Oz smiles as he hears Blisa and waves making his way closer to her. One of the mice dibbuns runs over to an order beast they know and Oz gets a whisper it's fine and he nods. The other dibbun about trips the badger, he ooofs and frowns a little as he sighs.
"I have rarely been attacked, to be honest," replies the mouse, "And the few times I wound up in dicey situations, I was able to talk my way out of it."
Blisa looks at the Dibbun, lips pursed slightly. "Hey, be careful, there, honey. You almost made Papa Oz fall down. That could hurt him and make him have an owie." She seems to be better mentally and emotionally than she was the last time the badger had talked to her....many months ago. Her position of authority seems to have been good for her. Ferdinand's eyebrow arches in surprise. "You mutht be a very thmooth talker, there, Thir Thom."
Madison remains sat in her chair, and must have been so for a while, as the legs are sunk just slightly into the soft ground at the pond's edge. She leans back, accompanied by another puff of smoke from the pipe. "Never underestimate the power of a silver tongue." she imparts to Ferdinand simply.
Oz is quiet and then goes to sit by a tree close to the pond, "I am ok"He mutters slightly and then sits down slowly leaning back on the tree. He sighs a little and looks like he could maybe fall asleep.
Thomas was completely unaware that Madison was nearby, and he turns in the direction of her voice. "Yes, exactly. I am storyteller, in fact. You might say I have a way with words, and talking my way out of scrapes when absolutely necessary. You'd be surprised how many boneheaded rats can be completely placated by a sufficiently long enough story......Especially if you make THEM the hero..." The mouse adds.
Ferdinand gives the squirrel a wry look. "Well, ath you can probably tell, a thilver tongue wath not thomething I wath blethed with." Self-depreciating humour! Turning back to the mouse, he chuckles. "Well, motht vermin have egoth the thize of the Thnowy North, tho that doethn't thurprithe me at all...." Blisa frowns and walks over to the Badger Father. "Hey, are you sure you're okay, Papa Oz?" She asks him quietly. She still sees him as an authority figure over her, even though she is an adult (just barely, but still), so she still feels the respect for him that requires his title.
Madison stretches some, with an audible crickle of joints. "Ah, I'm not so sure." she says in reply, "I knew a soldier; insisted on speaking with a lisp when in the field. Helped with stealth, apparently." A draw on the pipe, "'The S is the loudest letter there is', he said."
Oz hmms as the one dibbun taps him on the arm and he hmms softly, yeah he was about to fall asleep... "What?" The dibbun speaks "TJ got me all muddy, he mean" The badger sighs "Then...both of you go...clean off...just go." A couple grumbles they head off. The badger answers Blisa "I am....fine just tired." Very tired he needs a day off!
Thomas nods in agreement. "Yes, exactly. They have massive egos. One must learn to play off it. That, and they're also generally of low intelligence."
Ferdinand is slightly offended. "I am a ferret." Whatever else he had to say is interrupted by the appearance of a female rat, who is wearing a uniform that looks exactly like the ferrets. "Oi, Ferdinand, Valerie and that ol' mouse, Angela, want to talk to Cap'n Blisa." The ferret sighs. The young cat, having definitely heard that, cringes, goes to give the badger a quick hug, and walks quickly away. "I ain't gonna go talk to that old mouse! She has a big stick!" The bodyguards hurry after her, speaking in urgent tones to her. What? Even the Chieftain of Ferravale is allowed to be hesitant to visit the aggressive Healer in her accursed Infirmary, okay?

"Be our guest," Black Rose style ![]()
This TP is getting interesting! ![]()
Oh my goodness x'D
We SERIOUSLY need to have a DAB RP here soon....y'all can meet Squirrelbabe, dastardly leader of the DAB. And maybe we can destroy something, too xD
Oh my cow, this was positively hysterical! x'D
Bandit and I had actually started a modern-day OOC RP arc:
https://www.rwmuck.org/archive/content/ … es-rp.html
https://www.rwmuck.org/archive/content/ … ng-rp.html
https://www.rwmuck.org/archive/content/ … -day-.html
And I tried to get others to join us, but no one seemed interested. I have yet to read Karth's OOC log (or any logs today, for that matter), but I would be totally cool with us making this into an actual ongoing RP thing (so long as we keep doing IC RPs, of course).
I think I can make it to that day and time! I was planning on being here then, anyway, so this is perfect! Thank you ![]()
Thanks for sharing!
I give you permission to ICly say that he told those stories to LilyMoore and DoraRose ![]()
SCENE:
FV:Blacksmith Shop:Main Room
The blacksmith's shop is open-air, more of a covered porch than an actual room. It connects on one side to the small one room building where the smithy spends his off time. There is a back wall, where many completed weapons, tools, some armor, and basic things such as nails and hinges are displayed. There is a table up against the side wall that serves as a resting place for various hammers, tongs, and other metalworking tools. The dominant feature is, of course, the large forge in the center of the room, where the smithy makes all the things he sells. It is keep clean in any and all weather.
Exits: (Out), (B)ack (R)oom
CHARACTERS: Ferro, a male monitor lizard. Patch, a male rat. Blisa, a female cat; Ferdinand, a male ferret; Clarissa, a female rat.
LOG:
Ferro is busy checking a couple things in his shop, making sure the forge is cleaned out, that sort of thing. Nearby by the wall, on a blanket is the badger cub who has decided today be great for practicing some crawling.
Patch peeks into the shop and wanders in. He frowns as he shrugs and then sees the cub, not anyone else as he wahts slowly over to it and kneels down "What this a little strip doing here?"
A hissing sound comes from the back room "SSSSSStand back from her...or feel pain." He is covered in some soot from cleaning the forge earlier, he also looks moody, and seeing it's Patch of all beasts doesn't help as he gets closer. In his paw is one of those things used to fan the forge fire with, a billows it's called, as he has yet to really relight the forge fire.
Blisa has decided to visit the Blacksmith. Having heard about a break-in and that Krisha is now in charge of a baby badger, she thought it might be good for her to check on the lizard. She arrives with Ferdinand and Clarissa in tow and takes in the situation in a glance. "Patch, what are you doing here?"
Patch backs up and trips over his own tail as he falls onto his bottom and yipes a little "I...I wasn't gonna do anything!" He quickly stands as he sees the chieftain "Just to see if no fur here would make me a dagger." He points to the badger "Isn't THAT just a wee bit out of place?!"
Ferro glares (at Patch) and picks up the badger cub looking very protective of it. The cub just coos a little and seems just fine with the monitor as she slaps at his arm a little. "My name is Ferro....and sssssssshe is my granddaughter"
Blisa looks at the ceiling and sighs as she enters the shop. Ferdinand and Clarissa follow, with the rat smiling and waving at the baby. "Patch, please call him by his name. And since his adopted daughter is a badger, I don't see an infant badger being in his care as out of place or strange. Actually," the cat pauses, scratching an ear. "I think she's probably safer here than anywhere else in Ferravale." She smiles at the monitor, then turns her green-eyed gaze back to the rat. "I heard you were doing some scouting on these possible slavers. Did you discover anything useful?" She didn't come here to interrogate the rat, but since he's here, why not?
Patch gulps a little "So...dagger?" He looks over at Blisa "Slavers?...Well thar was some issues close to the bridge, and the Black Gull but hey...some vermin are not like ones in Ferravale...heck some here are not what they seem and some just like to drink a lot and pass out."
Ferro snorts at the word slavers "If they come here.....they die" Its simple really. He will sit the badger cub back down on its blanket, not that it will stay. He looks at the rat "What ssssssort of dagger and why?"
Clarissa kneels down beside the blanket, not trying touch the badger cub, just talking softly to her. She'll make sure the baby doesn't get a hold of any of her knives. Ferdinand just watches, ready to intervene of the Blacksmith thinks his granddaughter is in danger. Blisa's upper eyelids lower slightly. She is not amused by the male rat. "Vojin informed me on Thursday that he had asked you to check some things out. What sort of issue happened by the bridge and in the Black Gull? If it is a group of slavers, we need to have as much information as possible so we and Redwall can hopefully stop them." Glancing at the lizard, she tells him, "And I imagine they would. I pity whatever creature breaks into your shop or harms those you love. I heard that happened the other day?"
Patch rolls his eyes "Self defense...duhhhhhh..." He is then smart and gets closer to the chieftain as he speaks to her. "The...oh the river yeah...some monitor in furs, had this tattoo on his upper arm, large tattoo also all fancy like . Other than that a cat and some weasels, not much at the Gull...well was this fox that when he took his shirt off to fight this other fox had the same sort of fancy tattoo on his upper arm....not odd, beasts have tattoos and beasts fight."
Ferro looks ready to slap the rat. The cub however looks at the guards with Blisa and blinks slowly. She doesn't do much really but she tries, and fails, to make the same sounds as the words she hears and lets out a sort of giggle and moves a little only to roll onto her back and decide her paw is...so so interesting. Ferro looks over briefly at the cub, he trusts Blisa and her guards, the rat....well sorry not so much.
Clarissa sits down and watches the baby, a smile teasing the corners of her mouth. Ferdinand smiles, too, and goes to watch the door of the shop, just in case somebody decides to be stupid and try to attack the Chieftain while she's in here. Blisa cocks an eyebrow at the rat. "Tattoos? What did they look like?" And out comes her sketchbook and a charcoal pencil. Sitting on the floor, she opens to a blank page and waits expectantly for the rat to begin describing them.
Patch nods "Well the monitors was like...this large black rose with thorns and like green vines...thorns looked like long and most likely sharp , like fancy like vines, like see on a rose flower"
Ferro says, "They best stay away from here...trussssssst me"
Ferdinand smiles. "Oh, don't worry, we don't doubt you. Anybeatht that breakth in here ith obviouthly a complete idiot." Blisa glances up at the male rat. "And the others?" She's busily drawing as he describes these things, and she only pauses when he does.
~*To be continued.....*~
Ooops....I've always thought Melantha was a wildcat. My bad D:
I tried to make it as real (and, hence, as sad) as possible.
An evil bird char would be great, probably, for the upcoming TP. I would suggest asking Marek and Melantha about it. And Ferravale needs some good blackbirds to be messengers. You can Pmail Scioto, and me as Blisa, about it if it interests you ![]()
DoraRose doesn't care who or what she has to fight, she will help protect any Dibbun, even if it's a vermin!
This is getting GOOD ![]()
COOKIES!!!!!
I love cookies
xD
Excellent question/suggestion! I hope there is, because it does get very confusing D:
Cool
I'm looking forward to this TP. Maybe before it really gets going Marek and Dora can talk about why she's forgiven him; he doesn't need to reveal any parts of his past for that. And yeah, we can chat; you can message me anytime you want, and I'll respond when I see it ![]()
Also, Angela will be grumpy whenever she sees him. It would literally take him dying to save someone she cares about for her to stop being grouchy at him. She doesn't hate him anymore, not since their little adventure last Summer (it was just a year ago, right?), but she's not going to be gentle with him. SHE'S SO IRRITABLE, YO.
Actually, she just right then forgave him. She ran to him in desperation because she knew he and Lily are special friends, but now she has decided to forgive him. And she trusts him COMPLETELY with the lives of her family members. His immediate decision to drop everything and come find her daughter and bring her home safely has convinced her that he has truly changed
Would you like to do an RP where she proves that to him somehow? I have no idea what that RP would look like, but we could figure out something....do it on the fly, maybe? *shrugs*
Exactly xD
This RP is what Valerie and DoraRose were doing during part of this: http://forum.rwmuck.org/viewtopic.php?id=632
SCENE: Somewhere in the depths of Mossflower woods...
CHARACTERS: DoraRose, a female mouse, and Valerie, a vixen. Sarnith, a ferret.
LOG:
DoraRose is walking through the forest, a vixen named Valerie at her side. The mouse Warrior is carrying her black axe, and the fox is wearing the uniform of the Bodyguards of Ferravale's Chieftain. They're both searching for clues of someone passing this way. It's a lovely early Spring day that they're both ignoring. The sun is shining through the sparse cloud cover, birds are singing, flowers are peeking their petals through the leaves in the sunnier spots. The only evidence of the previous night's severe thunderstorm is the mud and wet leaves that's basically EVERYWHERE. The vixen frowns deeply. "I wish it hadn't rained last night. How will we ever find her now?"
It could be a number of things that would of attracted the attention of the searchers, the trees that have a crude x chopped into the bark, the few paw prints in the mud patches, or even a few stumps and accompanying felled trees laying about here and there. But it was probably the smell of an unwashed ferret that has been working on knocking over trees for the last few days. Moving from tree to tree the ferret seems to be performing some kind of test on each tree, small raps and taps, bark examinations, chewing on the foliage, and measuring the distance each tree is around with a knotted rope. Covered in wood and bark chips the ferret has a rather large bearded axe shoved through his belt and seems rather focused on his task of testing trees.
Valerie notes the Xes on the trees and points to them. DoraRose nods, hefts her battle axe, and continues to look for signs of some other beast, saying, "I don't know, Val. I guess we just have to hope we stumble on her, or that Marek does." They come upon the ferret, and the vixen perks up slightly. "Oh, I think I know him! Hello!" She waves to the carpenter, hoping he recognizes her from one of those times he met with Blisa.
Stopping off on the tree testing Sarnith turns to see who else would be out and about then half frowns, he doesn't recognize the mouse nor the vixen at first glance. Raising a paw the ferret waves weakly while pondering what exactly the two are doing here thus armed. Then with a spark of recognition he recalls the fox as one of the many that were piled in Blisa's office the last time he was over Ferravale way. The hob says "Mawnin's, wad's yer's be'd abou'd eh?" Once the two approach they also might start to catch the remnants of a soggy campfire not too far off.
DoraRose blinks slightly. "Uhm...." Valerie catches the gist of his words and says, "We're looking for her daughter," she points to the Warrior mouse. "Her name is LilyMoore. She has brown fur and violet eyes. She was wearing a green tunic, brown leggings, and a green cloak." The mouse nods. "Aye. She ran away last night right before the storm after I....I told her that her father....my husband had been murdered while she had been away on a trip. Have you seen her?"
Leaning back against a tree and finding a less soppy bit of soggy ground to stand on the ferret replies with "Can'ne say'd dad's I's did's, der's whur's qui'd der's storm'd las' nigh's, canne' be'd mudch of a trail fer's yer's der's foller's." Then seeming to remember himself or at least woodlander mannerisms the hob pops off the tree and proffers a paw towards the mouse saying "I'ds be'd Sarnith marm's." The paw is scarred, covered in splinters, but not quite so dirty, it's been run around several wet tree trunks after all.
DoraRose deflates and looks around, running a paw over her forehead. The more she listens to him, the easier it is to understand his words. The proffered paw startles her, but then she smiles faintly and goes to shake it. "DoraRose, Gatekeeper of Redwall. Pleasure to meet you." She sighs, obviously worried. Valerie bites her lip. "Could Lily have /really/ gone this far from the Abbey?" "Aye. She's a very fast runner."
Going back to his spot against the tree Sarnith shrugs, this is why he keeps his own kits on ropes when ever he goes out. "Well's, der's no'd been'd any udder's mice's oud's dis way's dad's I's know'ds of, leas' fer's der's las' tew's day's, bou' as'd long's as I'ds been'd 'ere's." Pausing to ponder the ferret adds "Well's I's 'ope's dey's didn's ged's much furder's, der's river's moss'd be'ds abou's a leauge'd yonder's." With those words the hob gestures in the general direction that the two had been going.
DoraRose's eyes widen because mentioning a rain-swollen river is /totally/ the thing you should say to a frantic mother. Valerie sighs. "Maybe we should head back and see if Marek found her. I doubt she would go near the river, and even if she did, she's a strong swimmer. I'm sure she's fine." The Warrior grips her axe more tightly and nods slightly. "Aye. It....thank you for your help, Sarnith. If you see her....tell Ferravale. She probably wouldn't trust you. Thank you for your help." She turns and begins ot head back, her shoulders sagging with worry. Valerie nods. "Aye, come tell us. And good luck with your, uh, woodwork thing!" She smiles and waves, then follows the Warrior back the way they had come.
Still pondering the ferret points again at a right angle to the way that the two were headed saying " Dad's way'd der'sw be'ds a pine grove's, et's would's be'd dry's still's, no'd been'd a crow der's since der's fire's a few'd seasons back'erd. " But seeing that this might well of been a wasted gesture the hob shrugs, waves a good bye with a bit more effort this time and starts back to measuring trees, checking the ground now for stray mice prints every now and again, he has quite a bit to do since spring is finally starting to come around.
~*END*~
Unbeknownst to them at this time, Marek and Clarissa had found Lily.

SCENES:
Ferravale Tavern
Mossflower woods
LOG:
It's a fair early Spring day. Breezy, sunny (with a few clouds drifting by), and pleasant. Some of the early Spring flowers are just peeking their petals up through last year's dead leaves. The only sign of last night's fearsome thunderstorm is the mud.
Which some beasts are carelessly tracking into Ferravale's tavern.
The tavern has a few beasts in it, but not nearly as many as there will be in a few hours when the lunch rush starts. There is also a random drunkard who was hidden in the closest alley all night. He is soaked to the skin, and looks positively miserable as he sips some soup.
One of the beasts tracking in mud is, surprisingly, DoraRose Strongheart, Gatekeeper of Redwall. The tavern door slams open under her paw as she dashes in, looking anxiously around, axe in her grip. Behind her, in a much more stately fashion, comes Chieftain Blisa and her bodyguards Ferdinand, Clarissa, and Valerie, who take the time to wipe the mud off their boots before entering.
The mouse Warrior continues to look around as she heads to the bar, ignoring the stares that she is getting. "Marek? Marek, are you here?"
Marek is busy cleaning dishes behind the counter while Patch is serving drinks, as soon as Dorarose comes rushing in, Marek stops his duties to turn around and face the mousemaid. "Ms. Dorarose? I didn't expect you back so soon. What are you doing so far from Redwall?"
Rushing up to the counter, DoraRose looks at him with panic showing in her face and her voice. "It's Lily, she and the others who went to Willowbark got back yesterday and I told her about Leon and she ran away into the woods and I couldn't stop her and she's missing!" Blisa and her retinue comes up, carefully not spreading the mud around more. "DoraRose insisted that she had to see if you would help, even though I reminded her that you're a pacifist now." The mouse is trembling slightly, but she's gripping her axe with both paws to try and hide that fact.
Marek takes a deep breath, and requests that Dorarose do the same. "Calm down, Ms. Dorarose. Panicking will solve nothing, I would like nothing more than to help you find Lilymoore. We shall have to bring someone along however as I no longer carry any of my weapons" he steps out from behind the counter. "But perhaps my tracking skills will be enough to find your daughter before it is too late"
Putting a shaking paw to her forehead, DoraRose nods. Blisa pipes up. "I could watch your tavern for you while you're gone, Marek, if you need that." Ferdinand adds, "And I've already given Claritha leave to come with you in the thearch, tho that'th not a problem." The former sea rat nods. "Aye, if anybeast 'as hurt that little mouse--" "If anybeast has hurt my daughter, I'll make sure they never live to see another sunset," Dora interrupts, anger causing her trembling paws to still. "Thank you, Marek. I....I don't think I could handle losing any more members of my family." Valerie scoots forward a little. "I'll come, too, just in case she needs a healer."
Marek nods as he grabs his pouch. "So it's settled then. Our group will venture into the nearby woods and look for Lilymoore. A child could not have gotten very far on foot by herself, so we should be able to find her quickly. Let us hope we don't run into any trouble along the way"
Nodding, Blisa takes a flowery yellow apron (that Valerie dug out of her bag), which contrasts immensely against the black she always wears, and steps behind the counter. "Don't worry, I've got this!" Ferdinand smiles and squeezes the mouse Warrior's shoulder, then joins the Chieftain behind the counter. DoraRose manages a smile and leads the way to out the door and out the gates, the bodyguards following closely. "I'll take you to where I lost her trail. Lily can run very fast, faster than others her age. I hope she's nearby..."
Marek follows rapidly behind, feeling that there is no time to waste. "Make sure that evertyhing runs smoothly, Ms. Blisa. Things to get a little...out of hand when I'm not around." Before officially departing he adds, "And keep a close eye on Patch, I trust that beast as far as I can throw him near my coffers"
After a little bit of time, the foursome arrives in the woodlands to the North of Redwall. The path from here to the road was easy to see, what with the axe swings DoraRose did to the underbrush last night. They get to where Xander had found the Warrior, and she looks around, biting her lip. "It looks like all the footprints got washed away in the storm last night. Maybe we should split up and meet back here in an hour?" Valerie nods. "That sounds like a good idea. You and I can go North, and Clarissa and Marek can go East." The sea rat looks at the stoat. "I'd be okay with that. What d'you think?"
Marek nods. "It seems like a good plan, but I suggest that I go with Ms. Dorarose. Lilymoore is more likely to approach us if we are together than if I were with somebeast else, and Ms. Dorarose is more than capable of defending both me and herself if the need arises"
Before DoraRose can say anything, Valerie shakes her head. "She doesn't know me or Clarissa as well as she knows either of you. I think having one of you with one of us would make us trustworthy to her again, while if it was just Clarissa and me, she'd be more likely to run away again, not realizing who we are." The mouse just shrugs. "I have no idea. I don't even know why she ran away in the first place. But either way, we must hurry. There's been some trouble for travelers here recently, and I don't want to risk her getting kidnapped. The last time that happened, Leon...Leon was....ended up...." she can't finish that sentence. So Clarissa adds, "I can go with Valerie instead, shipmate. I'm a good fighter in my own right, but whatever makes you feel safer."
Marek reluctantly agrees. "Of course, it would seem we would increase our chances if we took your suggestion. Let us venturing into this woods then and hope we find Lilymoore quickly"
The 3 females nod, then DoraRose and Valerie treck North. Clarissa gestures East. "After you, matey. I'll have a knife drawn, just in case." When he goes forward, she follows closely, a knife in each paw, one ready to throw, one ready to stab with. After about 20 minutes of searching, they will stumble across fresh tracks. They are headed in a Southeasterly direction, away from Redwall. They are mouse footprints, and they are shoeless. If they are Lily's, then that means she took her boots off at some point.
(To find out what happened to DoraRose and Valerie, check this log: http://forum.rwmuck.org/viewtopic.php?id=633
)
Marek looks down at the pawprints and sighs. "These seem to be a good match for Lilymoore, we should follow them and see what happens. But stay on guard, after the attempts on my own life these past few seasons and I can never be certain that trouble isn't lurking in the dark"
Clarissa nods. "Oh, don't worry, matey. I've been keeping my eyes peeled. I expect danger to come out from anywhere. It's been that way my whole life." The way she says it indicates that she's not joking in the slightest. Following the path of footprints for a while, they'll come upon the sound of someone weeping quietly. It seems to be coming from underneath a huge pine tree....
Marek points in the general direction of the tree. "There! I don't know what to expect but the movement suggests that something is nearby"
Clarissa cautiously and for the most part silently sneaks up to the tree and peeks under it. "Miss LilyMoore?" "Ah! Leave me alone!" A significant amount of rustling can be heard, and the rat has to scramble back to keep from getting jabbed in the face by the end of a branch as they jostle. The Lily darts out from under the tree and bolts away, running directly towards the stoat!
Marek is caught off guard as Lilymoore runs directly into him. "Calm down, child. You are safe here. Your mother is worried sick, you need to return to Redwall as soon as possible"
LilyMoore looks up into her friend's face and bursts out sobbing. "Marek, Daddy died while I was at Willowbark Abbey!" She then goes to cling to him, weeping uncontrollably. Clarissa picks herself back up and brushes some of the mud off, then decides it's a hopeless endeavor. "Landlubbers," she grumbles under her breath as she picks up the knife she dropped and polishes it on her tunic front.
Marek frowns as he hugs his young friend. "I know, child. It was a very sad loss, but your father fought bravely to defend those that mattered to him. Had he not, some of us might not be here today" he offers a handkerchief to Lilymoore has comfort. "Grief is something we must all go through, but it mustn't be something we run away from. We have to face our emotions and not let them consume. us. I made that mistake far too many times long ago when I lost those that mattered to me. My father, my mother, my brother, my mate" he pauses for a second, clearly pained. "Even my only child, all lost to some evil or another. But instead of processing my grief normally, I became a monster, and I killed and I conquered and I caused more pain than was ever given to me. Don't let that become you, child. Please return to your family."
LilyMoore accepts the handkerchief and blows her nose into it. "Dad.....Daddy fought?" She pauses for a while as more tears course down her cheeks, then she adds, "You had a baby?" Clarissa is now feeling awkward, and so she busies herself with standing guard, silently vowing to not tell ANYBEAST what she just heard.
Marek nods. "Your father fought bravely child, against a raven that threatened us all, against overwhelming odds your father fought and won" he smiles through his own tears. "There is little I can do to change my past or get back those that I have lost, but your father was a hero, child. Never forget that, a hero's blood runs through your veins. A hero's might flows through your soul. A hero's heart pounds in your chest, and a hero's last breath was given for you and your mother, so you could live on. Your father is gone, but his memory, his everything lives on in you. My past is a difficult one, and one I prefer not to discuss, but your future can be much brighter if you follow your father's example: live your life to the fullest and in service of others. Follow that example and you will never fall down the dark path that I did; make your father proud, Lilymoore. Return to your family, and make your father proud"
LilyMoore sniffles, then nods. Clarissa murmurs, "Aye, please lets' go, shipmates. This part o' the woods is givin' me the willies. I'll ne'er understand you landlubbers wantin' to live out 'ere in the woods -- I'm sure 'tis full o' ghosts." The mousemaid smiles, then goes to take the stoat's paw as the rat leads them back to the rendezvous point. When they reach it, they'll find DoraRose and Valerie waiting for them. The Warrior scoops her daughter into her arms as tears flow down both of their cheeks, and she looks over the maiden's shoulder at the stoat and mouths 'Thank you'. And the smile she gives him communicates that all is finally forgiven, and she now trusts him. The 2 mice head back to the Abbey, and the sea rat and the vixen go to escort the stoat back to his tavern. Clarissa in particular wants to get back home, and she regales them with stories of ghosts haunting the dark places of forests, ready to eat the souls of unwary travelers.
Marek clears his throat. "Well, if we are all ready to go home, I think that would be best. These woods are dangerous after all" As they all make their way back to the Dirt Road, Marek approaches Dorarose. "Your daughter is stronger than she realizes, Ms. Dorarose. She has you and your husband to thank for that. Among all the people I have met in my long life, your family are the strongest beasts I've met. Not in raw strength or power, but in heart and determination and soul. When I returned to Mossflower hoping to change my ways. your daughter did more to put me on the right path then any beast has in a very long time. It's true that Father Lorimis set me on the right path, but your daughter was the first real friend I made since I lost my family long ago. I want you to know, Ms. Dorarose that your daughter is responsible for every good deed, every life saved, and every scoundrel defeated since I returned. My heart was ready to change, but your family changed my spirit and for that I am eternally grateful" He runs to catch up with the others as he returns to Ferravale and to his quiet life, serving those who step into the tavern, and making sure that Patch doesn't step too far out of line.
DoraRose listened to these words and pondered them, writing them in her journal later.
It's strange how once bitter enemies could become such reliable allies.

Yes, Angela came in and heard the cuss word! She at least tried to wash their mouths out with soap, all 3 of them. Then Karth got no painkillers when he got his toe fixed up. And you can bet she told Oz, too! And threatened to tell Benar (although she didn't....this time).
This was hilarious....I now REALLY wanna do a DAB thing soon....and maybe get Karth stuck in the middle of it? xD
Don't break into Nightbreath's home, he's a creepy Seer.
Don't break into Blisa's home, her pet snake will eat you ALIVE.
Don't break into the Blacksmith's shop, he's a monitor with big teeth and claws.
There's, like, nowhere for thieves to safely break into in Ferravale anymore xD
Most shows (and movies) I either can't handle because they're too graphic in their violence or I am disgusted with because of the "adult themes". I prefer reading, anyway.
I have my team partially made:
1) Xander -- Leader because none of my chars are good leaders
2) Felicity -- because I the player wanna be on this team
And of all of my chars, she's the best at fist fights
3) Sarnith -- reasons. Also, he's a carpenter, so they're strong, right?
4) Kate -- she's in charge of the food xD
5) Marek -- he can be dangerous, if he desires to be
6) Bandit -- he's a good fighter
7) Nightbreath -- because he's training Blisa to fight hand-to-hand
Vladmir Stormfeather -- villain of the Thorns of Steel TP I was co-leader of the Summer after I first joined ![]()
Xia -- bonus/non-fighter character -- mascot xD ![]()
