ICly, officially, it'd probably still be the two levels of Novice, but OOCly that's not really a hard and fast rule. Kinda like the ranks in the LP.
I'm leaning toward Varus, Trinius, or Visurgis...
Doing some brainstorming for a potential new character.
I can't say too much else at this point, but if ya'll could toss out potential first names for a male hare, that'd be great.
It simply refuses to load. I've tried clearing my cache, clearing cookies. NOTHING makes it work. I HAVE USED IT ON A PHONE BEFORE. What gives?
I don't know. I can't get them to work on my phone at all. I can't access a computer right now, so I guess that I'll just give up.
None of the links appear to be working today.
Dang, I wanna get in on THAT, but Adrian is currently in Mossflower. Pooh.
All I care about is Adrian staying a corporal because he was a private for WAY TOO LONG. And that got boring.
So my posts will still be archived indefinitely?
I think this forum ought to stay up as it's really useful for planning rp and such.
Hey guys, sorry I couldn't make it yesterday.
I PMed this to you on the muck, DR, but also posting here just in case.
The day after the funeral, DoraRose would find a note slipped under the Gatehouse door. Written in flowery script are the following words: "Dorarose, I must extend my apologies for not attending the service. I consider both yourself and Leon to be among my closest friends. I would have been there, but I wasn't sure I could face the loss of so good a friend so soon. My sincerest sympathies. Lacota -PS. Not many beasts understand the pain of losing a spouse, but I do. If you ever feel like talking about it, you know where to find me."
In the novel Redwall, there were three distinct items: the Sword, the Shield, and the Scabbard. After Redwall, and probably Mattimeo, too, the Shield and Scabbard both completely vanish from the narrative. Presumeably, once he realized this was going to be a whole series of books, Jacques decided to just streamline that bit and keep only the Sword as the important bit, instead of having to deal with two or three items in every book.
I started on Sept 25, 2013, with Lee, an otter. My actual first rp, which was never logged, was with Flicktail and Zork, I believe, at the fire pit. The first logged rp I took part in was the very next day, actually, with Leon, DoraRose, and a very young Caleb and LilyMoore, and a cat character whose name I've forgotten, sadly.
I had a lot of ideas for character development with Lee, but most of it never really panned out, especially after he got an unexpected guard job foisted on him at Redwall.
Among his highlights were his marriage to Streamheart, and his subsequent children. I considered that some of the most fulfilling stories I ever took part in, and I'm still to this day saddened by the departure of Streamheart's player from the muck. I couldn't bring myself to kill her off, so I've kept her around as a puppet, but it's never brought me the same amount of enjoyment.
My most favorite character, however, is Lacota, Friar of Redwall Abbey. I'll freely admit he was created strictly to fill a role in the Abbey that I saw was not being filled by a REAL person, and thus his job was first and foremost in my mind, any further character development basically an afterthought. He was pretty bland at first, with an all-too-clichéd backstory of having been a former slave. Been there, done that. It served a purpose, nothing more.
Over time, however, the irascible squirrel really grew into his own distinct character, a no-nonsense kind of guy with a noticeable vanity and over-inflated opinion of himself, and his job. The Gordon Ramsay of Mossflower, in more ways than one.
And boy, did it click. For whatever reason, you guys seem to like him, a lot.
Lately, he's been softening, a bit, no doubt in large part because of his courtship, marriage, and eventual widowing: his beloved Krystal. That plot truly affected me. I didn't learn Krystal's player had left and killed her off for nearly two months afterward, and it was a great shock to me. I really wish it had gone differently. Lacota's never been quite as fun for me since that all happened. (I would be remiss if I didn't also mention his adopted daughter Cynthia. I haven't seen her around in awhile... I do hope she comes back.
)
As for my other characters, there's William, a mute otter, Thomas, the blind storytelling mouse, Adrian, a Long Patrol hare, and Abel, an ex-slave squirrel.
As I've been on an unintended break caused by external circumstances, I can only say... Don't kill Bandit.
That is all.
