WHOM:

Vilfred-Log-A-Log

Vlora- Warrior Shrew

Berwin-Cook/Warrior Shrew

Minsc-Hamster and Champion of Willowbark Abbey

Log:

Vilfred quietly informed the abbot he would be back in a couple days, traveling with him was a couple of his shrews, he had some stay at the abbey. He left his son in the care of the Badger Mother.

Berwin walked silently beside Log-A-Log as he keep a sort of guard watch, “Maybe we can check on the camp.”

Vlora scans the path and adjust her cloak “It’s still cold outside, I hate winter”

“Is always cold in winter, is being what winter is about..lot of snow this winter but least it has slowed some and not snowed for few days.” Vilfred says quietly. As they near where camp is he looks around. “We find…good place for Lyra..know good spot, where always liked to sit and talk..is not far down this path.”

Berwin nods “If ya say so Log-A-Log, tis all well and good ta honor her request on where she wanted buried when she died.” He frowns “It should not have been so soon though.”

Vlora speaks “Death comes when it darn well feels like it, no one tells death what to do or not do, if its gonna take ya…it’s gonna take ya, even if you have healers around. I think those near death and survived are just lucky..had an uncle I swear made some sort of deal with death to be around another few seasons though…said over and over again how he was gonna die when he was good and ready to die. Freaked me and my sister out all the time. Thought he was dead a lot of times, only to have his eyes snap open and he slapped us upside the head, one day we left him alone when he fell asleep in the middle of a story…only he..didn’t fall asleep”

Vilfred frowns at the story but says nothing to the shrew and soon finds the place they were looking for, a sort of small hill like slope with a small weeping willow tree and a couple thorn bushes. “Here…in spring the bush grows pink and white roses. She loved this spot a lot and the willow vines..calming and…peacefull”Tears go down his face.

Berwin is beside him and lays a paw on his shoulder “We are here fer you  Log-A-Log.”

Vlora nods as she stays where she is, she is here for support mainly and to guard against any stupid vermin in the area.

Vilfred nods, he stands up straight and looks to the couple moles that also tagged along, a simple nod that they can dig the grave and lower Lyra into it slowly. Lyra is laid in a simple coffin, some pink and white paper roses laid on her. The Log-A-Log says a few words and closes the coffin as he backs up.

Berwin watches and sighs, this is a sad day…it was sad 4 days ago when Lyra died.

Vlora frowns, she hated death even if she didn’t get to know Lyra that well, she was still a friend. She clears her throat and sings a soft song.
To the living, I am gone,
To the sorrowful, I will never return,
To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace,
And to the faithful, I have never left.
I cannot speak, but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea,
As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity,
Remember me.
Remember me in your heart:
Your thoughts, and your memories,
Of the times we loved,
The times we cried,
The times we fought,
The times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.

Vilfred listens quietly. He wipes away his tears and turns to the others, “We…check on the camp and then we head back to the abbey before worry floods the others minds”

Berwin nods “Yes, beasts do tend to worry sometimes don’t they”

Vlora shrugs “Worry is another thing one can’t always control….lets go”

They get to the camp after a few minutes and all seems fairly well. The small huts are still standing, no damage…no damage to the dining hall or the infirmary either, though a couple supplies were still there. A quick check on the boats and the log boats are still in very good shape, still hidden well in the reeds where they shall remain hidden and unseen. The smoke pit for fish and shrimp is also surprise there and unaffected, which is good news.

Vilfred stands by the old storage building or, what’s let of it” Is glad camp is in good shape, was concerned, but not so much now”He smiles now “We can head back to abbey."

“Is traveling back in dark wise my dear friends” Comes a voice that may or may not seem familiar to some.

Berwin right away has his raspier out and looking around the riverbank quickly for where the voice is coming from.

Vlora wipes out her short bow and has an arrow, she also has a dagger if it’s needed, “Show yourself and if  your meaning to do any one harm…best to rethink that path in life.”

Vilfred holds up a paw for them to relaxed”Who is this being? It is..sounding familiar but not being able to place it”

Out steps a hamster who chuckles “It has been while my friends! I have come far  for a visit to see how friends and comrades have been doing and missing you all ever so much.” He notices the other shrews and bows “I am Minsc…Champion of Willowbark Abbey. My ride could only go so far down the river, so I walked and told them I would see them again in few weeks. All is well at Willowbark abbey so I come to say..hello.”He  hmms “Seems have missed something?”

Berwin studies the hamster and relaxes “Well least a friend.”

Vlora is still a little unsure “Who now?”

Vilfred grins “Minsc!! Missed you I have and yes yes  missed lot.I am Log-A-Log now…sadly Allea was killed in an ambush in early summer. We have a new camp which will repair here when its Spring, we are staying at the abbey till then, I also have son now…but have yet to name him.”

Minsc grins “Congrats Vil….Log-A-Log. You and Lyra must be most proud.”

Berwin helps to lead the way back to the abbey, they won’t make it back for dinner but the shrews will likely have a late dinner at the fire pit cause…well that’s what they do.

Vlora frowns but will let Log-A-Log do any other updates.

Vilfred speaks “Lyra has..died, we just had funeral and then was checking on camp before go back to abbey, Lyra..died in child birth..is not best time for much happy times but is always good to see friend whom is visiting, it cheers me”

Minsc frowns now “Ohhh…I am sorry..death is not a friend in any way. But yes I am being glad to visit as well even if not the best time. I say think on happy times and not sad…she would not want you to be sad. I know the pain of losing a mate. I lost mine many seasons ago, and a son after that…there was time to morn and then move on.”

Vilfred nods “I am knowing this…will take getting use to but…I will get through it, this I am knowing.”

The rest of the walk is pretty quiet, and when they get back it is late but they gather at the fire pit, let the others know they are back and there is a sort of camp out at the fire pit that night for the shrews, to chat and eat stew and share memories of family and friends.

Who:

Vilfred- Log-A-Log

Xander- Leader of Mossflower Defenders and Owner of Redthorn Tavern

LOG:

Vilfred had sleep a lot but was now awake and holding close his newborn son.He was learning h0w to give him a bottle, he had some troubles but what was important is he was learning.

Xander had not heard much of what has gone on in the infirm, then he been in and out of sleep himself and after a few days here could sit up finally as he looked over at Log-A-Log and noticed "Your dibbun was born?" Least he is assumeing it's his.

Vilfred nods, "Yes..."A simple reply as the infant cries a little and Log-A-Log rocks them slightly making a shhhhhing noise"Is boy...a son, not named yet but will." He decides to walk over to where the badger can see the tiny shrew newborn.

Xander glaces over and smiles "You and Lyra must be happy, parents...it gets easier later turst me...well sort of "He chuckles a little "Where...is Lyra anyways?"

Vilfred stands there, quiet and silent before he speaks "Lyra is.....is gone" A single tear falls, he has cried enough in the woods and once he was back.He sits down in a chair by the bed, holding the newborn close.

Xander frowns at this news "Gone?" It takes a few morments till he figures it out and it only makes him frown more.."W..wot?" He looks at the tiny shrew and back to Log-A-Log.

Vilfred frowns "Is not...knowing fer sure...baby took..while to come, she lost....lot of blood, not supposed to lose so..much, some yes but not...a lot"He sighs, he is tried,"She was..so pale...weak....she said my name, she never used that unless she was worried or...grumpy, she seemed...scared maybe."He shakes his head"She rested and then used what engry had to..deliver son and then she passed out and the healers made me leave"

Xander frowns "They...knew something was..wrong.I know the healers here tried thier best, they had to of...to try and save her"

Vilfred says, "Healers did what could....yes but she died....she seemed...fine just maybe tried day before but was fine...then next day pain and then signs of baby coming....then...."Well the rest is known."

Xander frowns, this makes him concerned for someone else now, "If..you need to..t..talk about it..talking helps..sometimes"

Vilfred says, "Is knowing..."He watches the badger. "I am ok....and not want make you worry fer anyone else"

Xander nods, but he still worries"Had..she had problems before?" He frowns "Sorry...you dont have to answer that..I just know....Krisha had been with child before....lost it before it was even born, she had been tried and that day was ill and..things happen really fast, I was told she could of died had we not been at Willowbark...but traveling at the time may of caused problems."

Vilfred answers "No...no issues..first child"He frowns as its the only child now."I am sure Krisha will be ok..she would know if problems were to show up again yes?"

Xander says, "Yeah..she would and she isn't gonna travel outside the abbey and she avoids steps when can and she isn't lifting anything, even dibbuns right now."

Vilfred says, "Likely wise idea"He looks down at the sleeping newborn "Still will need to figure out name."

Xander nods "I am sure your come up with a nice name, that fits the son of Log-A-log"He smiles "Furture leader many many seasons from now"

Vilfred smiles a little "Yes. one day strong leader but not for long while is hoping.I plan be around long time yes"

Xander says, "I hope so, I hope I am around a long time too...weather its as a warrior or...who knows maybe an order beast"

Vilfred says, "You could be order beast maybe....could make good one never know"He yawns and goes to place his on in his crib and sits nearby"I wil have to see when healers allow me to take son to where shrews are"

Xander says, "Maybe, but then...welll we will have to see I suppose as I dont think I could not be a warrior, its too much in my..way of life."

Vilfred says, "one never knows what life brings us, sometimes it is surprise and that surprise is not always being good one"

Xander frowns "No, your right on that and sometimes decisions can not be so.....wise"Like his back and top of his head now, one claw barely missing an eye, even if it was the one already damaged it still hurt alot.He could of make it worse even if he had paniced or fought back, he did neither. He was not sure what the punishment the old sparrow was gonna give him but he figured it was some sort of pain, he was lucky it wasnt death and by the way it begun it very likely could of been death.

Vilfred says, "So..what was..happening with sparra....one of my shrews seen and told me, but not many details."

Xander frowns "They...thought I ate..sparrow and I told them no it was woodpidgion...it was still a bird they said..I needed punsihed they said and Lilymoore came and I believe she saved my life..cause I think they wanted me dead not...."He sighs "Seriously scared down the back and on the top of my head"

Vilfred listens "I do say...ouch...but yes could of been worse yes"

Xander says, "Krisha is upset with me and...I dont blaime her."

Vilfred says, "Well likely she will not be mad forever"

Xander nods "I...I just worry, maybe more so now since..."He shakes her head "i dont want Krisha to die in childbirth, she could of easyly before..she could...this time....I worry about it, a lot.A lot of beasts though Northstar was our child, I mean she was but we adopted her very close to the time Krisha lost our first child."

Vilfred says, "I am remebering Northstar...a small bit yes and try not to worry many many beasts have newborns and not die, yes some...do , it is true and some get till and recover, sometimes the child dies...sometimes both but worring about what may or may not happen will not be of..helping you out. correct?"

Xander lays down slowly "No it wont help to worry and the healers know so...they can be ready and she is being extra carefull as she can, so maybe her leaving the room when she was getting...mad at me was good, a way to calm down..stresss is not good"

Vilfred says, "Stress is never being good thing, for any beast.I say we get some sleep..you and me....and my son,is good idea?"

Xander nods "Good idea Log-A-Log...sounds like a plan"

Vilfred nods and lays down to sleep, he will likely need a nap and then he can check on his shrewss and maybe get to take his son to the room the shrews have been useing.

Lyra- Mate to Log-A-Log,Fighter

Leigh- Healer Shrew

Berwin-Main Cook of Guosim

Vlora- Fighter Shrew

Gorvenalus-Abbey Recorder and part time Healer

Bandit- A Fat Hrmless Fox

Random Infirm Healer- Spoofed

Some other GUOSIM SHREWS-spoofed

LOG:

The infirm was a buzz of activity and trying to make since of it all, was Log-A-LOG as he had a worried expression on his face.

Leigh stood beside Lyra "Ok...Lyra just rest, and take deep breaths if you can" She sounded worried, in fact she has sent one of the shrews off to get a couple abbey healers.

Lyra was  and in pain, she was also so very pale and seemed barely awake "It..hurts..and I'm...tried, maybe a rest for a little while" She noticed pain in the middle of the night, that got worse and it was only assumed the baby wanted born, a couple weeks early but that shouldnt be an issue after all, what was an issue was it was almost dinner time and she still had not given birth to the child.

Berwin peeked in and  then went back to the hallway and shruged "I do not know, I am no healer"

Vlora hmmmms"Something's wrong or does having a child take this long, if so count me out on ever having a dibbun..I will just adopt a child"

Vilfred stands and goes over to her again and takes her paw"Lyra, please do be saying something to me, I am here..it will be..being alright yes?" He looks to Leigh not liking her worried look.

A couple abbey healers come in, along with them they found Brother Gorvenalus who has helped deliver dibbuns before, well at his old hom in Willowbark he helped and frowns when he sees Lyra "Alright who ever is not a healer, please exit and we can come chat with you later."

Lyra shivers and her grip on Vilfred's paw is weak, even though she seems in a lot of pain.."Vilfred...." She only uses his name when its important or  when she is very stressed and worried.

Leigh looks to the beaver and others "Leave..."A couple shrews mutter and leave, she looks to the healers "I am the only healer of the GUOSIM...I stay"

Berwin puts up his paws and is into the hall with Vlora,"Come Vlora we can wait in the Great Halland maybe have tea and scones,I am sure all is well"

Vlora nods "Tea is fine, but not scones....maybe little cakes, with mellocreame"

Vilfred frowns"I am being right here love, what is it"He smiels a little "We will be being parents soon."He gets a rag and lays it on her forehead.

Gorvenalus looks over at Vilfred and sighs "You can stay, for now but if its needed we may have to ask you to leave"

Lyra smiles weakly and whimpers, but she sounds so weak, when a wave of pain hits her, she shivers and goes to grasp his paw but its not much of a grasp "I'm......s....sorry...."

Leigh looks more concern and nods to Lyra "Ok Lyra, lets do this...ok?"

Another couple hours pass but the newborn shrew is born, it's a boy and appears healthy, which is good news. The not so good news is soon after the newborn wasborn, Lyra had seemed fairly silent.

Vilfred smiles at the newborn "Is girl or boy?" He grins, happy "Lyra look look it is..."He frowns"Lyra?"

The healers go to cheak on the Lyra and frown.

Gorvenalus frowns,"Oh no....."He looks to Vilfred "Your need to leave a little while...I will get you in a few morments, we...we need to make sure Lyra and the baby are ok"He sounded concerned and tried not to sound so worried.

Lyra laid very still, she was breathing but not too well, she was so pale and quiet, she used what energy and stregth she had left to bring the newborn into the world and while they were checking the baby had slipped into a faint.

Vilfred frowned but agreed to go to where ever his shrews were, he found them in the Great Hall and sat down in one of the soft chairs watching the steps

Berwin walked over "Log-A-Log is congrats time?"

Vlora gives a smile "Hello...so what is it...a boy?A girl?"

A couple other shrews seemed intrested as well.

Vilfred speaks quietly "Is not knowing, healers send me out of room...is being worried not, so no answers have I for you, is sorry"

Berwin nods "Its ok Log-a-Log I am sure Lyra is fine, she is a strong shrew I mean..she is a fighter after all"

Vlora chuckles "Yeah and fighters are  always tough beasts , for sure in the Guosim!"

News came but a few morments later, Brother Gorvenalus walked silently towards Log-A-Log, he always hated when he had to do this, but he took the task of it, he would let others know but first Log-A-Log and it seemed, the shrews that gathered around him. He clears his throat "You..have a son, he is fine....but...I am sorry, his mother...she"He sighs and speaks the rest as he looks at Vilfred "I am sorry, Lyra has...passed on to the dark forest, the healers did all they could but....we are sorry"

Vilfred listens, it's then it seems he suddenly can't think, can't breath...the room is spining out of control. He then bolts as fast as he can towards the entry and out of the gates without so much as grabing his rasiper even.

Berwin frowns "Oh....that is..."And then thier leader rushes off"Log-A-Log!" He quickly rushes after him.

Vlora sighs and looks at the Shrews "Ummm..stay here me and Berwin will be...back soon"And she is off to help find Log-A-Log.

===== TO THE ROAD AND WOODS=====

Berwin scans the road "Well not like Log-A-Log could of gone too far, am I right?I mean camp is not so good to live in right now"

Vlora hmmm"Maybe just give him space, a lot has happen in one day and this is his way of...thinking on his own?"

Vilfred was not too far from the other shrews, sitting on a lone tree branch half way up a tree. He enjoyed climbing and could see the road fairly well from here.It also gave him time to be by himself as he wiped his eyes and leaned into the tree trunk.

With the roads open again, traffic along the road has increased too and from the abbey. It's unclear which direction the fox is came from, given that he is this far off the road. Armed with only a walking stick, a burlap sack, and his wits, the vermin beast is not too far from where the shrews are.

The abundantly rotund brown fox pauses in his hike to take a deep breath of fresh air. He finds a nice shady spot and with a struggle, eases himself onto the soft grass below the cannopy of a tree. "Vacation is grand!" The fat baker says outloud. Little did he know there were shrews about a hop jump and a skip away, or else he might never have fallen into a nap...

Berwin sighs"Ok so we....look"He becomes fairly alert as he frowns "Tis too quiet right now,why is it quiet?"

Vlora lays a paw on her rasiper "Not a good thing thats fer sure friend" She ventures on ahead and of course sees the fox and narrows her eyes, a fox and no sign of Log-A-Log and to her that means trouble.

Vilfred is close, in fact in the tree that the fox currently decided to nap under as he looks down and hmmphs softly "Is just wot not needing right now...is not"He frowns, he seems in a bit of a depressed mood and not in the mood for any possible fights.

The fox snores quite loudly, completely unaware of the shrew-y dangers around him. His swollen stomach rises and falls slowly, making him resemble the big bad wolf of lore after devouring happless beasties.

Berwin slips closer as well "You think he knows where Log-A-Log is?"

Vlora says, "That or he has him, he is a fox and foxes can't be trusted.I say we stab him and ask him questions."

Leave it to shrews to stab a beast and then ask him questions. To be fair, Bandit is a fox and quite stabable, laying there in the open.

Vilfred sighs as he debates on coming down the trunk. He decides to slip down, since he still has a bandged leg he slips and falls beside Bandit, luckly something breaks his fall, so he is not hurt, maybe a bruise but thats all.

Berwin starts to go forwards as well and then stops as something....or someone appears "Log-A-LOG?"

Vlora is beside the fox about to wake him with a good stab to the arm when she sees Vilfred and blinks "sur?...Are you ok..did the fox have you as a captive?"

Vilfred stands, "I am being ok and not knowing who fox is being, but seems fox broke fall..."Yes he landed on the overweight fox it seems and is smart enough to back up a little, he has had a bad enough day today and its now starting to get dark.

The shrew landed on Bandit's head, he is knocked out so his nap is even deeper now.

Berwin looks closely at the fox "So what do we do with him?"

Vlora smirks "Can we stab him, please..he's a fox"

Vilfred sighs and shakes his head"Just leave him be, we be going back to the abbey."He turns and heads to the gates.

Berwin follows "LOog-A-Log...are you ok my friend?"

Vlora is concerned as well she just sint good at showing it."Abbey is better" She frowns "I wanted to stab the fox though...you could stab him Log-A-Log."

Vilfred shrugs as they head head inside "Why doing that...sides..."He frowns "Sides...I need to....get inside before teh others worry..."He slows and just sits on the steps leading to the walltops, and tears flood now, not they hadn't while in the tree.

Berwin sits by Log-A-Log and looks to Vlora "Vlora..tell the others Log-A-log is ok, he's safe"

Vlora nods and heads on inside the main building to tell the others all is...well bacially well for the most part.

Vilfred leans agaist Berwin "She's...gone...Lyra is gone...wot am I goonna be doing now?"

Berwin thinks and answers "Be thar for your son Log-A-Log,  things will..somehow work out..we should get inside, sides you need to meet your son..right?"

Vilfred nods and heads to the infiirm, he stops at the cot where they laid Lyra, says a few quiet words and kisses her before walking over to a crib thats in the infirm, inside the tiny newborn shrew. He picks them up and looks down at his son as tears fall, but he does manage a smile "Will be needing to figure out name..."He holds the newborn close and just stands there for a long while till a healer comes to take the newborn and make sure it gets some milk to drink and is laid back down to sleep, they check on Log-A-Log to find him asleep on a nearby cot so they leave him there to get some needed rest.

LOG:

Arid. Blasted by the sun. Over the past couple weeks after leaving the Great Inland Sea, the weather had steadily grown warmer the further our plucky band of travelers head south. Even in the depths of winter the area is downright hot. But, still, Adrian presses his group onward, ostensibly to find more hares, but perhaps more out of a sense of wanderlust and exploration. This is a once in a lifetime experience after all. After two solid days of traveling further south from the top of the massive cliff, a welcome respite from the heat can be spied on the horizon. A proper pine forest. Glory be praised. Wiping his brow, Adrian points. "We might find some bloomin' civilization there! C'mon, it's not much fahrthah!"

Elbio frowns "Let's hope so, we are likely fairly low on supplies right now"

Sola is exhausted. She hasn't had to walk this much in years. The somewhat familiar route, at least to her, is a blast from the past as well. The heat wasn't bothering her at all, she was comfortable and she'd rather enjoyed the cliff and the empty wastelands allowed her to see all around them and relax without the usual fear of beasts lurking everywhere. That was one reason why she looked less thrilled as they approached the pine forest. She opened her mouth to say something but slowly closed it again without a word as she quietly follows, walking in the middle of the group.

Emersyn is close to Elbio, over the last couple weeks she has gotten to know him better and sees him as a friend"There is still ways to gather food, we should be fine"

Adrian shades his eyes with a paw, then nods again. "Right, if we want any 'ope o' findin' a bloomin' village or somethin', it'll be there, in that forest. Come on now!" He proceeds to lead the way, and just around an hour and a half later the group reaches the treeline. "Look, there. A path. Signs of life... We'll follow it, wot!"

Elbio nods as he goes to follow him"But friendly signs of life or not friendly sur? We have not always had a friendly hello from many at all"

Emersyn says, "Then we just be careful is all. A rest would be nice though we been walking feels like forever"

Sola's ear perks as they enter the forest and once more she's on edge and watching the trees. She doesn't see or hear anything out of the ordinary but she worries. As they finally hit their first sign of civilisation she looks around quickly with a small frown "I don't recognise this. I'm not sure who lives around here" she says very quietly.

Monty had been noticeably quiet and contemplative on the journey ever since they'd left the island. Notsomuch the previous depression from before, but there was just something else that seemed to be hovering over the small hare that was difficult to put a paw on. The scars that now cover both his eyes seem to make him look older than his actual age, and most certainly a little more warrior-like. He traveled near the back of the group, making sure to remain near Sola at all times...he was more than aware of her aversion to large groups and her nervousness when it came to running into vermin. As they approach the trees, Monty gives a thin smile. "Hmm. Finally, a bit o'shade," He mutters. "M'feelin' like a roasted marshmallow right about now y'know." The hare chuckles. At Sola's words, he gives her a gentle nudge and a grin. "...well, I s'pose we're just gonna have t'go and find out, yeah?" He waggles his ear. "S'part o'th' journey, y'know."

Adrian pauses at the treeline, and peers into the sun-dappled shade. "Right-o, I'll go fi..." but before he can finish the sentence Yerna harrumps and strides in ahead of him. "Or you c'n go first, why not?" He sighs. "C'mon, let's go..." The path is oddly overgrown, as if it hasn't been used in a couple seasons. Adrian takes notice of this, and frowns. "Somethin's not right 'ere..."

Elbio frowns "Maybe..we should go elsewhere...find a berry bush or stream maybe"

Sola glances back to give Monty a look "Always looking for the adventure you are" there's a tiny smile but it instantly disappears as she quickly looks back to Adrian and then around the area again when he says something's not right "What is it?" now she's extra paranoid. She keeps close to the others.

Monty still remains near Sola, noting her discomfort, and he gives a nod to Adrian. "Hmm. Yeah, looks like no one's been here in quite awhile..." He replies, quietly, taking a careful look around. "C'mon...let's just try n'be as quiet as possible, mebbe we c'n take a look around an' try n'see where everyone disappeared to..." He shrugs. "Mebbe it's just an abandoned village, where th'villagers found someplace better t'live. Heh, I know I wouldn't wanna live out here in th'middle o'nowhere..."

Emersyn says, "I dislike it here as well...I mean maybe we can find some supplies...wild foods...herbs?"

Adrian follows the overgrown path for several minutes, as it leads the group deeper into the forest. Monty isn't wrong... There is a village. Not overly large, but it looks like it used to be cozy. There's even a small inn. But everything...is abandoned. "Well, this is a fine kettle of fish..." says Adrian. Yerna grumps, also, and replies, "Waste o' time... We should move on." Adrian shakes his head. "Not yet..."

Elbio shrugs "He..is the leeader of this group...right? So we..trust snd like follow him?"

Sola sticks close to Monty and keeps peeking through the tree line until finally she can see the village. Instantly she's looking for reasons why but the others have mentioned food several times so "There may be, um, preserves or perhaps gardens...though it is winter so I suppose no food growing" she points at the inn "There may at least be a drink and place to stop and rest?" she frowns around at the place "Or perhaps at least some clue as to what has happened to everyone"

Emersyn looks around "If anyone is around even..I see or hear no one"

Monty gives a nod to both Adrian and Sola. He grins a little. "Hey, that's the adventurin' spirit!" The smaller hare motions towards the inn that Sola noticed. "Hmm. M'guessin' that's as good a place t'start lookin' as any, yeah? Mebbe it'll give us a place t'stop an' rest our paws for a bit too while we kinda get our bearins and figure out wot's goin on, yeah?" Monty begins to head over in the direction of the inn, making sure Sola is there close by as well.

Adrian draws his sword. The village is deathly silent. "I don't like this. Right, spread out, check th' buildin's... Be careful! We don't know wot's bloody goin' on. If y' find anythin' weird, just hollah, eh wot!" The various buildings look like they were abandoned in some haste. Buildings still have furniture, but day-to-day items like clothing, dishes, personal belongings, have all been cleared out. The occupants took some time to pack. By the time every house has been thoroughly searched the position of the sun in the sky shows it to be very late afternoon. Adrian sighs, and leans against a tree, then has a start when he hears a very plain "PSSST" from the tree branches above his head. "PSSSST!" There it is again.

Sola cautiously follows Monty to the inn, going to peek in the windows before going inside. She checks the kitchen of course but with everything packed up and cleared out she doesn't find much and ends up using the room to at least sparingly use some rations to heat up something for the group while the others are finishing the search and figuring things out.

Elbio frowns as he gets his longbow and an arrow"Ok..someone is clearly....here"He looks around, not yet aiming or even placeing an arrow to the longbow yet.

Monty begins to check the buildings a short distance away from where Adrian is leaning against the tree. The hare slips into and out of each building after taking a good look around at each one, and not really finding much of note he eventually makes his way over in Adrian's direction. "Hmm, not much really t'see, Adj, all th'stuff's gone, th'buildings are th'only things left, really..." He leans against the tree as well, before his ears perk as he ears the noise. "...eh. Y'hear that...?" He nudges Adrian.

Adrian mmms, when his friend nudges, and he nods his head. "Yeah, I did. Whoevah it is...Is up there..." He points upward, then calls out, louder, "Alright, bud, we 'eard y'... Come down, out in th' open." As soon as Adrian says that, an older looking squirrel pokes his head through the branches, frowning sharply. "Quick, follow me... The lot of yeh. This place isn't safe... *They* are watchin' the village..."

Monty jumps in surprise at the appearance of the squirrel, the hare blinking up at him. His eyes eventually shift back down to Adrian, before returning to the squirrel. "...eh. They -gotta- stop doin' that..." he mutters, with a shake of his head. "Who exactly is this 'they' yer talkin' about? And where exactly are they? I don't see anythin' but an empty village, sah." he shrugs. "...m'guessin' 'they're' th'reason why everyone's gone, hmm?"

Adrian jumps back, and draws his sword, then frowns. "Wot 'e said. Don't *do that*!" He sighs, shaking his head. The squirrel shakes his head, puts a finger to his lips, and goes, "Shhh, not so loud. They could be hidin' behind any tree. You lot, follow me... I'll take you the Village Elder... He'll tell you what little we know... Which isn't much, I'm afraid... Now come!" With little other choice, Adrian and the others follow the strange squirrel deeper into the forest, and nearly half an hour later they arrive at *another* village, but this one is clearly makeshift and has been purposefully well hidden.

Monty sighs. Well, he can't say this whole journey hasn't been an intriguing one to say the least. Plenty of mysterious villages and mystery creatures creeping about everywhere. Giving a shrug, he goes to follow the squirrel as they are led away to the smaller village. "Not knowin' much seems t'be a constant theme of this trip, dontcha say, Adj...?" he mutters to his friend as they head towards the other village.

"Viphataphs!" An ancient form appears before the hares, bowed and bent by countless seasons. The squirrel's fur is a solid silver-white, like freshly fallen snow, and what is left of the creature's tail is the same. "My name iph Merketz," Somehow the lisp doesn't affect his name... "Cheiftain of thiph village." He smiles a toothless smile. "Come with me and I phfall ecphplain everything."

Adrian doesn't think he's ever seen a beast so ancient as this squirrel. Not even old Cap'n Marks at the Mountain, the oldest hare in the Patrol who still refuses to officially retire, despite being so old and confined to a wheelchair. "Ah, errr... Sah. Thank you for your welcome. We, err... 'Ave a lot of questions, yes..." He leans over to Monty, and whispers, "Who would win in a fight, this old bloke, or Cap'n Marks back 'ome?"

Monty can only stare a moment as they come upon the ancient squirrel, the hare blinking, before he glances over at Adrian. "...this village must go through a heckuva lot o'puddin', Adj..." he leans in and mutters to his friend, before straightening up and giving the squirrel his best smile. "Nice t'make yer acquaintance, Chief Merketz..." he replies to him, before he hears Adrian's whisper. He stares at his friend. "...this guy. Without a doubt, mate..." he mutters back. "At least this one looks like he c'n walk more n' a few feet..."

"Yeph, yeph, I bet you do." The squirrel waves them to follow him. As he turns around, he stumbles and it seems a real danger that the breeze might blow him over. "Come, come. We're waphting daylight!" Merkatz leads them to a canopy with a rug that looks more expensive than the entire shoddy village. "And no, laddy-buck," he says, snapping his fingers with a glare at Monty, "I can eatph jupht /fphphine/." Spittle flies out of his mouth as two mice bring out trays of what /smells/ like food. When the covers are off, however, all the steaming mass seems to be are... bugs. Bugs and roots. "Itph all we can get to eat without /them/ pheeing."

Adrian is already wrinkling his nose and looking away, politely. But when those plates are uncovered... He blanches visibly. "Would you like some refreshments? Tea? Bug Soup, perhaps?" asks another mouse. "Err, no thanks...We just ate," Adrian lies. He'll die of thirst before he'll bother to ask what they use for 'tea'.

Monty follows after Adrian and Merkatz, the hare seemingly amused by this interesting turn of events. As the food is uncovered, he gives a nod and a wave of his paw, his ear sticking straight up in the air. "Hmmhmm. Yep. That most definitely seems like eatin' fine, sah...." he replies, before glancing at Adrian and making a face. As the refreshments are offered, he shakes his head. "Nah, thanks, we, uh...yeah. What he said..." he nudges Adrian. "We totally stuffed ourselves right afore we got here, mates. Mmmmhmm. Sure did. Can't eat another bite, y'know."

"Ah." The squirrel looks almost disappointed. Now /he/ has to eat it. So he does, digging in with surprising gusto for some one so old and without teeth. "The tea I'd actually recommend," Merkatz mentions in between 'bites'. "Phome rare jade leafphs that made uphf a trade hub..." Swallowing, the squirrel sighs. "Before the dark timeph... before the ghophtph...."

Adrian can, surprisingly, understand this ancient creature. "...Ghosts? Wot's this about ghosts?" He's trying to keep his gaze away from that horrifying display of bug devouring. "D-did y' see these 'ghosts'? Tell us more..."

"Sit, sit," The squirrel waves the question away. Only once they do does he speak again. "Now, laddy-buckph, let me tell you..." Merkatz clears his throat, sending globs of phlegm and spittle in the hares general direction (unintentional, hopefully) of the hares. "Let me tell you of the horrorph we have witnepht for faar too long." He pauses, giving a light cough again. "Have you ever heard the cackle of the damned in the dead of night? Or pheen the pale flutter of a doomed phoul in the dark treeph?"

Adrian sits, and listens... He has to wipe spittle off his face with his kerchief. After those questions, he shakes his head, slowly. "Errr... Can't say as we 'ave... At least, I 'aven't. I can't speak f'r mah friend Mont 'ere..."

"PHILANPHE!" The squirrel shouts, raising his paw. "MERKATZ PHPEAKPHS!"

Monty listens as well, the smaller hare making sure to do his best to dodge the flying spittle. At the question, his expression is a serious one as he nods. "Every day, I do, mate..." he replies. "Would be a bloody surprise if I didn't see dark things floatin' around n'somesuch..." he replies, deadpan. At the shout, he merely stares at the odd squirrel. "Er, right, exactly."

The glare sent to Monty could whither an oak. "/Philanphe./" Merkatz hisses, venom dripping in his voice. "They came, three pheaphonph ago, in the dead of night..."

Adrian remains utterly silent this time. How was he to know those first two questions were *RHETORICAL*?

"It phtarted when lil' poor Timmy went miphphing..." At this, one of the mice interrupts, saying, "Jimmy, chief. 'E was my son." The look Merkatz gives the creature is even harsher than the one to Monty. "TIMMY, he waph named. Never even found his boneph... Then the necpht week another beapht from our village went mphhing, and the necpht, another..." And so on so on the old squirrel rambles on, late into the day.
==The Next Day==

That hidden village is behind our intrepid band, and they had continued on through the forest. It's nowhere near as large as Mossflower, so it only takes the better part of a day and a half to reach the other side. Rumors of the cannibals that once inhabited the trees had kept Adrian on edge, but there had been no signs of any killer beasts the whole way. Nearing the southern edge of the wood, and with dusk fast approaching, Adrian elects to make camp for the night in the cover of trees, so a campfire is quickly set up. All seems well... But is there a hare missing?

Elbio has been a bit worried, anyone missing after hearing tales like that is not a good thing. "So..are we lost or...just finding it hard to find someplace that, well..has other beasts , and friendly beasts"    He has yet to notice the missing hare.

Sola is not unhappy to have left that village. While their recipes for bugs have been noted the doe found them odd folk. With the setting of camp Sola gets on with her usual tasks of setting up a tent and getting some food sorted. Her ears still twitch at the noises of the forest but she's alright getting on with work "There is often an awful lot of nothing out in the wilderness that splits up the someplaces. That's why maps are mostly empty forests" she says to Elbio as she works "...Or I imagine we're still on the right path"

Monty just seems generally exhausted and worn out, and when Adrian suggested they stop and camp for the night, the hare was more than happy to agree to said suggestion. He'd generally remained near the back of the group, covering them from behind while Adrian remained in front, and despite not really seeing much of anything the entire time he still found it odd that they had indeed seemed to be missing one of their number. Monty flops down near the campfire, then tumbles forward onto his face, just lying there with his face in the dirt, paws flopped out in front of himself. "Gaaaaaah."

Adrian had kept Serena close to himself. Yerna, meanwhile... Was Yerna. Which means she'd appear and disappear at will. "You okay there, Mont?" Adrian asks his friend, concern in his voice. "We got further to go if we're gonna get t' th' bloody bottom o' this mysterious 'ghost' business, eh wot." He's digging into his pack, checking the group's rations. "Emersyn... Can y' go check around f'r any edible plants?" ...Emersyn? 'Ey, any o' lot seen Emersyn lately?" He looks around at the group. Definitely not there.

Elbio had noticed Emersyn wasn't beside him but he figured she went on ahead a little or was a few steps behind them as she had done at times. "She...was with us when we left the camp before this one...maybe she went to find firewood? Or like water?"

Sola startles a little when Monty falls on his face and moans but it doesn't seem like he's in distress so she raises an eyebrow and gives him a funny look. She carries on until Adrian mentions Emersyn and quickly glances around the camp but of course doesn't see the hare. She instantly looks worried "Oh..um...I don't know. I..I wasn't watching her...She can't be far?"

Monty just sorta lies there on his face, his ear splayed out like his paws. It takes him a few moments to respond, as he turns his head and rests his cheek in the dirt, peering up at Adrian. "Eh?" He blinks. "...oh, uh. Yeah. Yeah, m'fine. Just a little spiffin' exhausted is all.Otherwise am perfectly peachy, wot. Right as rain an' other similar sentiments." He smirks lightly, before Emersyn is mentioned. "Now that y'mention it, don't remember seein' her for the last couple miles. Figured she went on ahead t'scout or somethin'." He sighs, before turning his face back around, forehead resting on the ground as the buck remains sprawled there next to the fire. "Hey, Sola. Got plenny o'sprawlin' space if ya feel like it."

Adrian quirks a brow and looks at his friend, then shrugs his shoulders. Then Yerna makes her reappearance, like a ghost by the fire, and Adrian jumps, startled. He asks her about the missing Doe, but gets nowhere. Serena, meanwhile, sets about preparing a simple meal with what supplies they have. Adrian takes a seat near Monty, and warms his paws. "Remember what those woodlanders said, though... They had beasts just... Disappear into thin air, too... This is all rathah concernin', eh wot..."

Elbio says, "Maybe she will be back soon and beasts can't just suddenly dissapear without a blooming reason"

Sola gives Monty another raised eyebrow "While I would love to rest my paws dinner will not make itself" though with Serena helping there was barely much to do it was still one of the tasks Sola actually felt useful with so she helped with the cooking. She frowns when Adrian mentions beasts disappearing "She can't have been taken, we would have noticed" She's trying to convince herself "...Do we...give her time to catch up?...Should we go back the way we came?...Perhaps you could, um, track her...somehow?"

Monty sighs heavily, before the buck eventually rolls over onto his back, paws coming to rest on his chest as he stares up at the tree canopy. "M'thinkin' it might be a bit too dangerous t'start a search out in an unknown forest, while it's gettin' dark. We just gotta hope that Emersyn c'n take care of herself, an' we can take some time t'go search for 'er in the mornin', if she doesn't come strollin' into the camp after she smells the food cookin'." He gives a shrug. "T's a shame, really, haven't got a chance yet t'really teach er th'ins and outs of bein' in the Patrol, and she already has t'go an' get herself lost."

Serena is very happy for the help from Sola, and with the two of them working together a meal is whipped up fairly quickly. Too bad the biscuits are stale, though. Yerna, meanwhile, looks over at Sola. "What he said," She remarks drily. "S'too dark t' go lookin' f'r a lost doe." "I 'ave t' agree with 'em both, I'm afraid," Adrian says. "We don't know these woods, an' remembah, there's still rumahs of cannibals in th' trees... But that does, admittedly, seem t' be a lot o' hooey. We'll look first thing tomorrah..."

Elbio frowns "But....alright and having light would be better, we can find tracks and clues and such"He will eat dinner quietly though as he is worried for his missing friend.

Sola helps finish off the food preparation and offers Monty his first of course but she's distracted, looking worries at the woods as they grow darker "I hope she's alright...Poor doe shouldn't go from slavers to cannibals...There's nothing we can do until morning?"

Monty notes Elbio's displeased reaction, and the buck slowly shifts himself up into a sitting position. "I know she's yer pal, mate, an' yer worried. An' it might seem a bit cruel n'heartless for us to just sit here while she's out there somewhere, but...what y'gotta understand, is that it'll do no one any good if we go out there in th'dark an' get ourselves ambushed or killed cuz we're in unfamiliar territory. Then it wouldn't really matter if we found 'er or not at that point." Monty sighs. "Look, part o'bein' in the Patrol is makin' th'difficult decisions, wot. Sometimes y'gotta go with th'safer option. Like I said, m'sure she's fine." He shrugs, before he reaches over and grabs one of the aforementioned stale biscuits. He gnaws on it with an amusingly annoyed expression, making a face yet still trying to eat it regardless. He accepts the offered food from Sola, setting it down beside him. "Hmph. S'like tryin' t'scoff a bloody stone..." He mutters.

Serena, for her part, also looks quite worried. She looks at Adrian. "You think she'll be okay?" The Corporal can only shrug, also snagging one of those biscuits and biting into it. "I c'n only 'ope. Regahdless, wi' one o' our numbah goin' missin', Mont, Elbio 'n' I will take turns keepin' watch. You 'n' Sola get yahr sleep... I'll be takin' th' first watch, too." He tucks into the food. "If we don't find Emersyn tomorrah mornin', we'll continue south like th' squirrel eldah suggested, in th' assumption tha' she were taken by th' same... 'ghosts'."

Sola nods slowly as she can't disagree with the logic that stumbling around in the dark is unwise. A little sigh and she finally sits down, going to sit on the ground next to Monty and dipping her own biscuit in to her drink to soften it up "I fear it was this or insects. If we reach the river I shall catch some fish for a change" She glances back at Adrian when they're told to get some sleep and looks worried again at the suggestion of ghosts "I really prefer my fears to be tangible" she mutters but nods. It's not like she ever slept well to begin with.

Monty finishes off his food relatively quickly, settling himself down by the fire as he prepares to take a quick nap. "Hmm. Wake me when it's my turn fer watch, Adj..." he mutters. "I'll take next, then...then Elb can take the shift after mine." He stretches himself out with a groan, the buck lying close to the fire but not close enough to risk catching himself on fire. "Fish...would be good. I'll help ya try n'catch somethin', Sola." He gives the doe a smile, before he closes his eyes and begins to drift off. "Just let one'a those ghosts show their face 'round here. I'll bloody show em wot bein' scary's all about..." he chuckles, sleepily.

Adrian finishes off his food quickly, as well, and then sets about sharpening his rapier whilst he sits there on watch for the next several hours. Serena lays down close to Adrian's log, but Yerna... She's awake. And peering out into the gloom. Adrian learned long ago that she does as she pleases. The silence grows deep between them, into the night.

Sola smiles faintly as Monty makes threats for the ghosts and she goes to rub his shoulder briefly in appreciation of his continued attempts to drive all the scary things away. It'll take her a while longer to wind down and sleep but eventually she'll get some rest too. Until then she'll sit quietly with her drink and just listen to the woods.

==Time Passes==

Sun. That's all there is. No clouds. The days are uncomfortably hot, and the nights are bitterly cold. There's little sign of life as the band of hares continue South... And go south they must, for their search for the missing Emersyn had proven singularly fruitless. Four days had passed since leaving the relative protection of the forest, and aside from one day spent camping on the northern shore of a river, catching fish and otherwise resting, the rest of their time was spent walking by day, huddling around a fire by night. On the morning of the fifth day, however, to large landmarks could be glimpsed on the horizon. Perusing his map, Adrian declares, "I believe those may be the so-called 'Bell' and 'Badger' marked here... We're quite close to that canyon, wot! C'mon, let's make quick time t' th' bloomin' rocks there..."

Elbio hmmms "Odd names for rocks I say,why are they called that fer?" He does speed up a little and catches up with the other hares as he looks around.

Sola handles the climate better than most. Even the hottest part of the day was nothing special to her after growing up here and all the summers spent in Southsward. She'd enjoyed the river, swam, fished, it had been a good day but they were back on the move so soon. She walks along quietly with the group and tilts her head to try and see the map from a distance "They are, um, markers I think...I suppose they must look like a bell and a badger"

There's nothing to toughen one up better than some good ol' trekkin' in extreme weather conditions, and the band of hares seemed to get the best of both worlds in this particular instance. Monty had done his best to avoid complaining as much as possible; complaining would not get them to their desired location any faster. There was certainly a bit of worry in his mind for Emersyn and her potential situation, but that was something they'd have to examine once they'd gotten themselves settled in whatever location they ended up disovering. The hare still remains at the back of the group, trailing just slightly behind the others as they come to the spot where the large rocks are glimpsed in the distance. He pauses, eyes narrowing to slits in concentration as he stares at the giant rocks. "...huh. Well I'll be a bloody shed snakeskin. I'd heard plenny o'stories about th'Bell n Badger, but never thought I'd ever get t'see em in person, wot..." He smiles, glancing back to Sola as he slips an arm around her shoulders and gives her a warm squeeze. "Wouldja lookit that, Sola?" The hare seems quite pleased, his gaze returning to the large rocks in the distance. "Huh. Well, suppose we better get a move on then, eh?"

Adrian nods, and rolls up the map, putting it back in his pouch. "Correct me if 'm bloody wrong, wot, but I think I c'n see a smudge o' smoke neah the two rocks... We may luck out 'n' find somebeast t' talk t'... Lessee." And so they head out at a steady march, Adrian leading his group in a jaunty old marching song the Patrollers like to sing in order to keep time. As they grow steadily nearer the Bell and Badger, a plume of smoke does indeed become apparent. Whatever it is... There's somebeast there already.

Elbio keeps up the pace and stays ever alert, he has learned to be more alert and knowing of things around him since he has joined the patrol, he is not as jumpy as he was when he first joined either"So..I say we be carefull...right? Then could be a friend, or a foe? One never knows really I suppose..and maybe they have seen Emersyn"

Sola smiles faintly and glances at Monty and after a quick glance at the others she goes to give him a quick kiss on the cheek when she's convinced no one's watching. She quickly puts on her serious, concerned face afterwards and looks back to the group though because they were currently on the search for their missing friend and being happy felt inappropriate to her. She genuinely looks faintly worried when she sees the smoke and she nods to Elbios suggestions "Yes, maybe we should be, um, sneaking up on them?"

Monty gives Adrian a grin, the expression helping to make the buck's newly-scarred face look not nearly as grim as it normally might. "Oh, that'd be wunnerful, yeah? Dunno how much longer I c'n go just havin' no one t'talk to but you rotten lot all day..." he chuckles, ear giving a waggle. As he receives that quick kiss on the cheek from Sola, the buck blushes, getting just a little flustered. "...oh, well, er...yeah. Yeah, can't be too, uh...too careful, y'know. Personally, I'd say we just stroll right on in, I don't hear much of a commotion that'd lead me t'believe it's a group o'vermin, Adj..." he shrugs. "And we won't know if they've seen ol' Em til we walk right up n'ask, right? Let's get to it!" He picks up his pace a little more, taking the lead after a few steps as he seems interested in the source of the smoke as well.

Adrian nods in agreement. The group is within sight of a squat shack before too long, set up in the middle, between the two great rocks. This close, now, Elbio will get an answer to his question about their names, the two rocks unmistakeably shaped like a massive bell, and a imposing, if weathered, badger. Natural, or carved by the paws of mysterious beasts eons ago... Who can tell.

Elbio wows and just walks along in awe at the sight as they get closer and closer to see the tall rocks "Wow....wonder who made these and how long ago"

Sola may never get used to bravely marching in to potential danger. She sticks close to the group but keeps toward the back, ready to keep out of the way if the worst should happen "I don't know that anyone will have lived long enough to know" she says quietly to Elbio as her eyes stays fixed on the shack.

Monty points a paw up at the badger-shaped rock as they get closer. "That one does kinda look a bit like ol' badgerbritches back at Sala, doesn't it?" he jokes with a grin. "From wot I was told, these've been 'ere about as long as anyone c'n remember, an' no one's really sure how carved em or how they got like they are." He shrugs. "I guess some stuff's just meant to stay a mystery, eh?" As they finally reach the shack, Monty makes his way up to the door. He gives it a couple sharp raps with a paw. "Scuse me, but, er...is anybody home in there? Long Patrol, here, wanna check t'make sure everythin's all hunky dory for ya n'whatnot..."

There's a commotion from inside the shack. Then a voice calls out, "Wassat? Who're yew? Wats Long Patrol?" The door opens a crack, and the beast peers out. "Go way. My home. Yew ain't welcome. Go way." Then he opens the door a little further. It's a rabbit. (Most certainly NOT a hare, and if you mistake the two, woe be unto you.) "Wat're yew doin' 'ere?"

Elbio waves "Hallo...good day, just..some...info.."He looks to Adrian as Adrian is the leader of the small hare group. He backs up a little and stays by the others.

Sola relaxes slightly when she sees it's a rabbit but she still looks around the area anyway, just in case. She leaves the questions to the others who are actually patrol hares and falls silent for now herself.

Monty puts on a mock-offended expression as the rabbit that answers the door mentions not knowing who the Long Patrol is. "Psha! Wot? Y'don't know of th'Long Patrol, sah?" He looks to Adrian in a huff, before his gaze returns to the rabbit. "Doesn't know who th'Long Patrol is. I -never-! Well, lemme just tell ya then...th'Long Patrol is the finest fightin' force o'hares this side o'Mossflower an' every place smack dab in between!" He grins, simply standing there at the door as it is opened a little wider. "We're onna recruitin' mission, so t'speak, an' we jus' happened t'be in the area an' saw yer shack, so...we just wanted t'check up an' make sure everything's goin' fine for ya." He gives a shrug. "That's all! Oh, an' we were also kinda curious as t'whether y'happened t'see another one of us who happened to meander on through, bychance?"

Adrian just raises his paws. And since Monty has this under control, he stands back. The rabbit narrows his eyes suspicious. "This my home. Yew cannae have it. Not seen another hare, either... But I see th' ghosts. They come 'cross th' Abyss... I'm fine, too."

Elbio says, "We don't want ya home, did someoen try and take your home and...ghosts? No such things as ghosts wot"He chuckles a little"Maybe beasts are like ..dressing as ghosts ta try and scare ya some reason."He looks to the others and shrugs.

Sola looks to the crevasse as the ghosts are mentioned again and she edges a little further forward to peer towards the edge "Everyone around here seems to be talking about ghosts" she mutters.

Monty chuckles, leaning on the doorframe as he crosses his arms across his chest, peering at the rabbit with a smile. "Kind sir, believe me, we don't want yer home, we got a plenny lovely place of our own t'park our scuts. Happen t'be quite a long ways away from it at th'moment, but...we should be back there afore we know it. Trust me, yer hut here is pretty safe." As the rabbit mentions not seeing Emersyn, he nods. "Y'haven't seen 'er then? Fair enough. But, wot's this about seein' ghosts? And, er...how long ago wuz it that y'last saw em, if y'don't mind me inquirin', sah?" Monty seems plenty casual and relaxed when speaking to the strange rabbit, not wanting to set off any alarm bells at all.

The fellow rubs his chin, and thinks, though he still seems pretty suspicious. "Hereabouts four days ago... They crossed th' Abyss, like always. About 8 of 'em... But why d' yew wanna know?"

Elbio asks, "So they, left the area? "He is curious and frowns "Any of them see out of place or not wanting in the group...anything else thats important?"

Sola looks back to the shack and its owner with concern "Eight of them?" so they were already out numbered. She looks worried for a moment but then joins in after Elbio's questioning "Oh, like what they look like...or perhaps what they were doing?"

Monty hmmms. "Four days ago, eh?" He glances to Adrian, gesturing towards the rabbit. "Why do we wanna know? Eh, I think I'll let ol' Adrian here answer that one, I think he c'n explain it a little better than I can..." The buck steps away from the door, giving Adrian a light nudge. "He's th'leader of our little group 'ere, y'know." He takes his place beside Sola, remaining close beside her there as he noticed her apprehension

Adrian eyes Monty and shakes his head, but then he smiles wanly at the rabbit. "Sah, we, err... We 'ave reason t' believe these, err... 'Ghosts' may 'ave taken one o' our friends, a doe named Emersyn..." Before he can continue, the rabbit raises his paw. "Sorry... Yew ain't gonna find yore friend. Yew ain't th' first beasts that come lookin' fer friends, either. An' yew won't be th' last... An' yew won't be comin' back, either. Nobeast does. Yew lot should just give up..."

Elbio frowns and then snorts "Well we surely won't if your gonna be rude"He folds his arms over his chest, he is just a little grumpy cause he is worried for his friend, a frown as they were also starting to maybe even be more than friends, well maybe he isn't too sure and may never find out it seems at this rate.

Sola sighs very quietly at the rabbits warning and looks ahead to the crevasse "The threat of no return is alas never a reason to keep us from trying anyway" she doesn't sound particularly optimistic about it but she knows they won't turn back now.

Monty raises his eyebrows at the rabbit. "Hmm. May I ask ya a question, sah? If y'say y'see these ghosts all th'time, an' they've taken others who've come through here before...then why are ya still here?" He smirks, "Why haven't they taken -you-, eh? I mean, your hospitality does leave a little t'be desired, t'be frank..." he shrugs. "And if y'think that's th'first time we've head somethin' like that, mate, then yer wrong. Y'see my face?" Monty tilts his head, the scratches over his eyes more than evident, along with the missing half-ear. "We've been through some things, t'put it lightly. So if y'think we're scared of these ghosts, yer wrong."

The rabbit narrows his eyes. "I 'ave ways t' avoid 'em." He's not too forthcoming, though. "If yew gonna follow the Ghosts, then yew 'ave t' cross th' Abyss... There's only one way across. Mebbe I 'elp yew cross... But yew gotta pay..."

Elbio frowns, he looks to thier leader Adrian to handle this one, as it's likely up to him what they do or don't do.

Sola has been starting to get annoyed with the rabbits lack of help, that turns to quiet indignation when he wants them to pay "I am not giving money to this grifter" she mutters in irritation "His aid has not been forthcoming so far. Perhaps we should leave him strung up for these ghosts and find the crossing ourselves. It can't be far from here"

Monty gives the rabbit a smirk as well, "Now that y'mention it, Sola, that's actually not that bad of an idea. Yer catchin' on pretty quick...I'm impressed!" He gives the doe a grin, before returning his eyes to the rabbit. "How do we know yer know in cahoots with these 'ghosts', and yer not gonna double-cross us somehow?" He looks to Adrian, before looking back to the rabbit. "Here's the deal. Y'take us across the abyss, safely I might add...an' then we'll pay ya on the other side. Y'have our word as Patrollers."

Elbio frowns "But we..don't even know wot payment would be.....he didn't say"

Adrian nods in agreement. "Aye. We'll work out payment on th' bloody othah side, eh wot." The rabbit frowns, then sighs. "FFFFine... I'll take yew across. Yew need rope. I'll get it..." He disappears into the shack, then reappears with a long length of rope. "C'mon." He heads out toward the canyon.

Sola flushes slightly at Monty's words. She was just getting angry but now that's distracted her and she's back to her normal self "Oh, well, um..." she lets the others do the negotiations but quickly whispers to Monty when the rabbit disappears in to the shack "I don't know if I trust this one" though she's generally a little paranoid.

Monty gives the rabbit a satisfied nod as he agrees. "An' think of it this way, sah. The quicker we're across, the quicker we're outta yer hair an' y'never have t'see us again." As the rabbit disappears to retrieve the rope, Monty nods to Sola. "Aye, I'm gettin' a weird vibe from that one, m'self, actually." Once the rabbit returns with said rope, Monty turns and begins to follow him outside and towards the canyon.
The group heads south, less than half a mile from the Bell and Badger rocks, and there it is... A great, yawning chasm. A true abyss, in every sense of the word. So deep the bottom is impossible to see. A massive tree trunk spans the gap, however, like a massive bridge. "Yew tie this rope around yore waists," says the disgruntled rabbit, "An' that way yew don't fall inta th' bottomless pit. C'mon..."

Sola follows along with the group and makes sure she's a safe distance away from the rabbit before peering over the edge once they finally reach the abyss. That is indeed a very long way down. She can see the tree and the cliffs on either side of it "The ghosts come this way all the time...they must be mad"

#36 Re: GUOSIM » Guosim looking for members! » 2020-02-22 02:29:07 PM

A couple things.....

ICLY news of Lyra, mate to Log-A-Log, being with child has spread she had hid it well..the shrews of the GUOSIM KNEW!

Anyways the one that played Lyra had left the muck and had said I could spoof her, a talk with her in thinking she may be back led to let's not have her spoofed...Lyra dies in child birth and Log-A-Log will have a son to raise on his own.

Other than that clearly life changeing event....I have planed another couple ones as well.

1. The camp will flood slightly when all this snow melts in early spring but once the River Moss is back in it's banks it's time to clean up camp, do some rebuilding...plans to make a large sort of building is in the works...add on to the dinning hall they have and add a meeting room and a hallway to where there will be sleeping quarters for the shrews, Log-A-Log wil have the largest of the sleeping quarters, likely off of the meeting room. The storage building will be rebuilt as well. They will keep the smokeing pit they made to smoke fish, shrimp and crayfish. They also still have thier log boat area.

2. Find out where a map leads to that Log-A-Log and Nardo found while in underground tunnels under Ferravale....ideas have been brought up and they might just help someone find something that's been missing for seasons!

Of these role plays you don't have to be  GUOSIM to jion! We are still looking for shrews to join the group though!

LOG:

RW Abbey: Firepit
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a small strip of land between the pond and the orchards which is bordered on one side by a portion of the Abbey's southern wall. This particular section, while well built and sturdy, is obviously much, much newer than the sections to either side of it. The ground is clear of almost all grass and weeds, and is somewhat uneven, still bearing deep ruts and impressions that have not yet been worn away by the rain. The center of this area contains a large firepit lined with flagstones and encircled with log benches.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vilfred was finally able to get out of that room and over to the fire pit. He had a cane to help him walk and his leg was still tightly wraped in bandages, but the broken leg was healing well from the fall weeks ago.He sat down and grined "It is being good to be out of doors my friends!"

Lyra nods and smiles "Just take it easy my dear, will you."

Berwin was already here making some famous stew, rolls, and some baked apples. "Yeah we don't want her complaining that ya don't listen Log-A-Log"

Leigh chuckles as she sits down."I wonder when spring will come and if all the snow this season will  affect the camp? You know..flood it?"

Vlora hmmmphs "And I yet to see de camp, and along rivers do flood, thar has been a lot more snow this season and it came earlier too..Winter of the Deep Snow indeed...whats next Spring of the Flooded River?"

Vilfred shrugs "We shall we my friend, we shall see. We can have a friend maybe check here in couple weeks, make sure log boats are ok and that smoke pit is ok as well so we can still make smoked fish and smoked shrimps"

Lyra smiles as she leans against the log bench, a paw on her midsection "Being here for winter was good dear..." The shrew was with child, that was clear now.Even though she kept it mainly a secret from others with baggy clothing, but her fellow shrews she had told.

Berwin starts to pass out bowls of stew and rolls, and some baked apple "Ya know...telling the abbey of the child would be wise, I know we like to keep things to ourselfs...but we only have one healer"

Leigh frowns "He has a point, we lost Moss when that one vermin attacked the camp before winter hit"

Lyra sighs and stands to head on inside, "I need to go inside...chat later"

Leigh stands "I will make sure she is ok Log-A-Log"And make sure she gets to the room they are using as steps have to be annoying right now.

Vlora hmmms "Find more healers for group"

Vilfred hmmms "Not always being easy."He glaces at Lyra as she decides to head back inside and looks back to the others "She is being ok." As for other things "As for possible of flood in spring, we deal with if comes"

The gentle tinkling of bells announces the arrival of Oswald carrying a large wooden steamer in his paws, he glances over the top of it at his fellow shrews and grins, "Hola mates, so that Friar of theirs let me make something in their kitchen, just need to pop this over a cauldron of boiling water and let it steam for a bit."

Berwin sits down and hmmphs, he looks up at Oswald"Make what?""He was grumpy, but what was new he was grumpy a lot of the time.

Vlora waves to Oswald "Hello there" is just here, sitting.

Vilfred smiles and waves "Oswald..do be joining us for a bit of lunch prehaps, it is good day so far...cold but still good day"

Oswald grins at Berwin, "An assortment of vegetables wrapped in a light pastry then steamed, aye used to make these back south," He glances from one shrew to the next then moves over to set the steamer down and stir up the fire, "Why all the long faces and serious sound discussion?" he glances between Viora and Log-a-Log, "Why we worrying about future floods? When we have rebuilding to deal with first."

Berwin says, "Not too much rebuilding, mainly the storage building..the huts were ok...for the most part juts need to make sure they are warm enough next winter as cant always be 'ere"

Vlora says, "That is true. The abbey was nice enough to let us stay this winter"

Vilfred says, "Abbey is allys of us shrews, are our friends. Yes storage building was main thing messed up, huts....maybe add something to keep cold air out is all, or make a large building we all use as sleeping area in winter times, have large fireplace"

Oswald nods at Berwin, "Aye, but we have a whole year to build something sturdier, that recorder of theirs was telling me there is good rock in the woods we could use for sturdier building material." He hauls a cauldron over and hangs it on a tripod above the flames then pours in a jug of water, "What Log-a-Log says makes some sense, making individual huts for ourselves probably wasn't the best move, we split our efforts. We should make a proper stone and log cabin, we can build in extra bedrooms and the like."

Berwin says, "I like that idea, and be like a ...meeting room and have a hallway for our own rooms and would be much warmer in winter, and less space for anytime"

Vlora asks, "get stone from where? And could use the wood from the huts for a large building, we have a mess hall building already"

Vilfred smiles "Yes we do....prehaps infirm be good..just in case..but inside a main building, we can get help if be needing, storage building still outside close to smoke pit we use, and log boats still have their area as well, we are thinking much and this is good my friends"

Oswald says, "There are several large outcroppings of stone along the riverbank we could quarry out," He taps his chin, "We could build off the mess hall, shore that up, make it a bit more permanent... it's odd having to think about building something to last."

Berwin asks, "Why is it bad thing to be in one place? We can still explore up and down de river and allies are always complaining about not finding us when they want to and seems the last couple places we had turned to be all bad luck"

Vlora just quietly listens, she hasn't been with them too long to know of much moving around yet.

Vilfred sighs "Yes yes camp south of church was bad location and old camp by river was....clearly torn up by something, is why found the camp we have now..better area by river, better hidden...even better area to have the smoke pit too, much room too"

Oswald exclaims, "Aye it is a good location," he shrugs," I am just not used to staying put! So i am glad we can move up and down the river," he peers into the cauldron then fits the steamer on top of it to catch the steaming water, "But a larger communual home sounds like a good idea."

Berwin says, "Maybe once its late spring we can explore some, get back to log boat rides up and down the river, always leave 2-3 at the camp to keep eye on things"

Vlora says, "I like exploring and helps to know who possible neighbors are...good and bad ones, and who usually is along the river..something new happens you keep eye on things, maybe even explore the woods some"

Vilfred says, "we will still explore of course..i be knowing Camp Willow is close to camp and they are friends....Ferravale is close to, though...mixed feelings on them....the chieftain she is...ok and trustworthy and maybe couple others, some..unsure of...they do have their main healer, he seems....odd at times"

Oswald says, "Aye I don't know what to make of that Ferravale place myself.... it is... well I don't feel safe going there, some of them seem ok but you hear stories so... I'd rather avoid it myself, let them visit us on our terms."

Berwin says, "No..no vermin in the camp at all. I dislike vermin"

Vlora says, "who would want vermin in the camp, arn't vermin usually..someone that wants us dead? Why trust any of them"

Vilfred speaks "Nardo...a ferret did save my life when the mill floor caved in, he pulled me to that tunnel when everything came down and helped me find my way back out, got me to abbey...my leg was broken and I would not of been able to do anything on my own...I do believe another vermin, not from the vilage caused the cave in of mill and the fire of mill"

Oswald glances at Berwin then Viora, "You'll learn in time that not all of those we'd call vermin are out to kill us, some of them can be your friends, and some woodlanders would do better off being called vermin themselves."

Berwin says, "I have yet to meet an evil woodlander, though did hear of an insane hare that was around but that he died"

Vlora asks, "insane hare? Ok..then, anyways maybe SOME are ok and if this Nardo saved Log-A-Log ok we can trust them, but still we make sure they are trustworthy before they step foot in the camp, like the chieftain of Ferravale maybe can come...maybe, long as we know I say that is ok"

Vilfred shrugs "Think name was...hmms forgetting but no matter."

Oswald says, "Ask the abbot about the mouse who kidnapped him and tried to stage a coup by pretending to be everyones friend and stabbing them in the back," he shakes his head, "some beasts are just bad, but it isn't based on what species they are."

Berwin says, "true true....I knew a rat thats was a bit...odd in the head, not many liked him but got along...poor fellow thought he was a shrew I think, not sure what happen to him and..a mouse kidnapped the abbot? The more recent one..when was this?"

Vlora yawns and decides to take a nap, but she listens a while to the talking before she falls asleeep.

Vilfred asks, "Hmmms not heard of mouse that to fake being freind, who was it? Thinking was before we came back to area"

Oswald says, "Aye I heard the tail off the recorder, I think it was a mouse, don't recall the blighters name, it's probably in the records someplace."

Berwin says, "maybe will read it but yes saddly some can pretend to be a friend, hopefully that wont happen again...speaking of bad beasts, I wonder..if the beast who caused the fire at the mill...was one who tried to burn down a part of our camp"

Vilfred shrugs "Is not knowing...could be and not knowing if still around they could of left the area"

Oswald says, "Life itself is always full of surprises we can only do what we can to make the most of it" He uses a hook to lift the lid off the steamer, filling the air with the smell of dumplings, "These are nearly done."

Vilfred smells the air and smiles "Does smell good yes....a lot happens in life yes..some planed and some not planed"

Berwin chuckles "That is true Log-A-Log....maybe we can get more members for group also...we have few, though few don't mean weak and helpless..i do believe we are far from that!"

Oswald says, "Aye more shrews would be nice," He hooks the steamer off and sets it on a rock and then takes the lid off and uses a large leaf to pop three dumplings in and hands them to  Log-a-Log, "We are never weak and helpless Berwin, why even one shrews is enough"

Vilfred smiles as he gets the dumplings and smiles "Well...we will have one new shrew here in 3..or so weeks.."He smiles, he is happy.

Berwin nods, he raises an eyebrow and then ohs "Oh yes...of course almost forgot" He nods "You are right Oswald...size matters not when one has skills"
Oswald offers Berwin the next batch of dumplings then nudges Vilfred, "I heard congratulations where in order Log-a-Log! Go you two!"

Vilfred chuckles "Lyra wanted to...keep it secret but has not been so secret now since will be coming soon"

Berwin nods "And they have good healers here who likely know how care for beasts about to have a child...I am sure they have had newborns here"    He gets his dumplings and smiles.

Oswald says, "Well if we were back in camp you two could probably have kept it a secret for months," He bites into his own dumpling and sighs then grins, "But this is Redwall abbey, this place is full of beasts w ho love to gossip"

Vilfred says, "I have noticed, I wonder if the Badger Mother helps with newborns...but yes is not so secret now, maybe all shrews can help think of a name for a boy...or maybe girl"

Berwin grins "A furture leader will need a good name after all"

Oswald laughs, "Well any child of the log-a-log's is in for a good shot at being elected replacement when he and Lyra do a runner for the sunny south once the kids old enough."

Vilfred chuckles "I do hope to be Log-A-Log for a long while. I am unsure if Log-A-Logs retire though...."

Berwin smiles "Not to worry...of course we want ya around for as long as possible Log-a-Log."

Oswald grins, "I don't think they do, I know of one story of the Log-a-Log being murdered by a shrew and the shrew who hunted down the murderer and took vengeance on them became Log-A-Log, but usually we have a good old argument and elect who we think is best," he grins, "Technically chief we should never mention your name, you are Log-a-Log and your old name is never spoken again"

Vilfred Nods "I know that..I am Log-A-Log. "He smiles as he relaxes"And think I am good at job"

Berwin nods "You are Log-A-Log...a good leader, and wise too to of found what we call home by the river..camp by church was good to leave...bad camp as it was"

Oswald grins, "You are doing a bang up job Log-A-Log," he settles back, nibbling on a dumpling, "You listen to everyone but then make a decision and we follow it," he nods, "You've not lead us wrong yet chief,"

Vilfred smiles at this, "Thank you Oswald, I do me best...and I did decide to come here, though I know a couple didn't like the idea at first, was good idea to be here for winter"

Berwin smiles "Abbey is friends and we have not had trouble at the camp by the river...maybe a small one here and there but was always solved and will always be solved"He smiles and nibbles his food, he grins "We need some October Ale"

Vilfred smiles "October ale fer what? Speaking of which maybe get some to take with us...hee heee, just a little bit"

Oswald says, "Well I think once spring hits, we take a keg of their ale and that Foremole of theirs and see about building a larger building off the mess hall for us all to live in."

Berwin says, "To celebrate our leader of course, and the future"

Vilfred smiles, he nods "Moles are wise for making a building safe and strong indeed."

Oswald exclaims, "Aye we need to have a celebration of your good fortune Log-a-Log! What say we see if we can snaffle some of the abbots famous Apple Brandy and toast your good fortune!"

Berwin grins "I like the idea, the abbot is a good fellow...I am sure he can let us have some...celebrate a good leader and future dibbun that will be around soon as well"

Vilfred smiles "We can ask then, maybe de Abbot can even join us yes?"

Oswald chuckles, "Well then I'll drop him a word when I see him later and see if he will share!" He stands up, "For now though I should get this streamer back to the kitchen."

Vilfred exclaims, "Yes we can have a small celebration tonight at the firepit!"

And later that night,  there was celebrating the fire pit!!!!

What if there was a storm? Like some icy rain storm on the coast and it  affected Halyard. It wouldn't affect the mountain BUT Maybe a couple hares are trapped in the storm and have to be in  cave by the ocean...or just have to stay in Halyard cause was getting...I don't...something like sweets cause it was a day off and so turns into the worse day off ever!

Also maybe some spring fair in Halyard a lot of hares get the day off to go to, I mean yeah wouldn't be till...Spring but a fun role play can be throw in there

Cool

I know some of the recruits are not on the +skills m l-patrol list

As far as i know Jinora and maybe Riley are the ones who can grant players in and update ranks ect.

#42 Re: Ferravale » RP in Ferravale: IDEAS!!! » 2020-02-11 12:39:28 PM

There is also the tunnels...a map was found in said  tunnels ...a creepy skeleton held a key, to a chest and the chest had a map to................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ well yet to be decided! We need to figure out where the map leads to! Something of value once lost to Ferrvale cause it was stolen? Maybe its just leads to another map that leads to the once stolen item? Maybe what ever it leads to nothing!!!!!

Lets figure out an idea....I like the idea maybe some thing was stolen some seasons ago, maybe something even during Scioto's time as Chieftan....but like..what? You know some enemy stole it, hid it and left them self a map, they like got lost in the tunnels and well...died  tongue

#43 Re: The Long Patrol » Misc. IC LP stuff » 2020-01-30 07:44:31 AM

Also I was told badgers are  RARE to even be around...You got the Badger Lord/Lady....then the Badger Mother as the main badgers of the muck. I know there is  like 1..maybe 2 more wandering around and the one I talked to, and no they were not in the Long Patrol or even the Abbey think its someone who isnt on much anymore...anyways I decided to not  make a dibbun of any sort.

#44 Re: The Long Patrol » Misc. IC LP stuff » 2020-01-29 04:36:57 PM

So  family history!

Sounds good and the blacksmith and  boat captain  jobs...and I can see him not shareing much his life before the mountain, maybe someone can ask him?

#45 Re: The Long Patrol » Misc. IC LP stuff » 2020-01-28 01:17:58 PM

What if....they find some orpahned badger cub in Halyard or maybe this slaver has a badger cub cause like...they had the  badger's caretaker but, you know he/she died maybe very recently and Ciocan can  raise a  cub, with help from the hares....and there ya go..possible future badger lord/lady in the far FAR VERY FAR..so far...future smile. And hey be interesting..be like it's crying now wot?...it   is crawing everywhere no!!!!!...And dibbuns are cute and like they need more  dibbuns in the mt....so why not a badger cub like coool

#46 Re: The Long Patrol » Misc. IC LP stuff » 2020-01-27 12:41:29 PM

Don't think anyone can be everywhere 24/7 tongue....so yeah makes since. So would be true, he can't control...everything. Course got to think he has the final say so on who can be a general,Major ect....I mean he could well be like...nope to so and so.

The Badger Lord can promote hares as well not just the Majors, least I would think so...so like if Private Nate saves, lets say...Major Varus from something that other wise he would of died. And this act of..bravery like would make them a Private  1st class...just an  example.

#47 Re: The Long Patrol » Misc. IC LP stuff » 2020-01-24 11:02:31 AM

I Know..I know...do one of those where he is like..I don't know..the beach or Halyard and some vermin are like..look at the old frail hare..lets kill him. The Old Pete slowly stands, wipes his mouth off cause he was eatting lunch, smiles at the vermin and..........

OMG WHAT THE HECK!!!!!!

Two vermin lay  in pain on the floor or beach and he just walks away

Don't  judge a book by its cover right?

#48 Re: RP Chat » The Tenderfoot Chronicles - LP TP » 2020-01-24 10:40:31 AM

So..we got a date set up for next adventure? Been a bit quiet

#49 Re: The Long Patrol » Misc. IC LP stuff » 2020-01-21 09:57:39 PM

Yeah..why not...the badger needs a friend..a couple friends to talk to.

And he needs to come out of his room more often...its  assumed he eats  meals with the hares, likely watches them train..also I seen the log where Dom wanted to spar with Ciocan and have a boxing match..THAT HAS to happen once Dom is a lot better..that be cool.

Also its good to see Ciocan  talk to us hares once in a while...have drink with us...eat some cake with us....train on the beach with us!

Vilfred- LOG-A-LOG

Lyra- Healer of The GOUSIM

Lyra- Mate to Log-A-Log

Various GOUSIM shrews

Nardo - Master Healer of Ferravale

LOG:

Vilfred had passed out on the way here and didn't protest when he was carried to the abbey. He now finally wakes up and glaces around.Right away seeing Lyra smiling at him, and then punching his elbow with a glare.."What being that for?" He asks as he rubs his shoulder with a frown "Not telling us where you went..but I am ever glad your ok"

Leigh walks over "Log-A-Log you are awake, did you need anything?" He will likely notice his leg newly bandaged in a good splint and a bandage on his paw as well.

Nardo is here too, but not really helping as he is just sore all over, a large bruise on his side "Oh yeah..be happy for him, what about me..ya know he is only alive cause of me"

Vilfred chuckles at the ferret, "But yes he is telling of the truth, he carried me in the tunnels..somewhat, but he got me to the saftly of the tunnel from the cavern after the building collapsed into it, he is a brave ferret"

Leigh smiles "Thank you sir for helping him, and I am glad other beasts were able to find you two as well.Beasts were worried"

Nardo blinks, he is not use to this..thanking business as he speaks "Your..welcome"He smiles a little "I mean, I..not gonna let a beast die ya know"He sits up a little as he shakes his head "A healer should not be one needing...well a healer"

Vilfred asks, "It happens at times yes? Our Healer needed one not too long ago at camp, but all is well now and heard feast is soon, for that we are needing to get...better"

Leigh shrugs and sits down "Us Guosim are in the abbey till spring, then will tend to camp though the only thing needing fixing is the storage building..and maybe a better way to have heat in winter, then this winter was very very bad and it is still winter as we speak"

Nardo looks around the room "Yes heard of the feast, its in a couple days..maybe I will go or help out in here, then again not really been to a Redwall feast before"He looks at Vilfred and nods "You likely been to Redwall Feasts, should be able to go to this one, though I say be careful, let your shrews help you to it and either back here or in that room ya all have"

Vilfred says, "I am much planing on going to the feast and so is the rest of the Guosim"

Leigh nods "Yes it will be nice to attend one I think we missed the last one in...ummm..summer?"

Nardo says, "Yeah they didn't have one in autumn, the abbot was recovering from...well an accident but he is better now"

Vilfred leans back "Oh yes did be hearing of that, helped to find Xander cause of it, then all got better yes?"

Leigh cleans up a little around the infirm "That was..interesting I think but it turned ok"

Nardo sighs as he puls out a book and starts to copy one of the pages into a journal he has.

Vilfred smiles "We all go is case settled." He tilts his head at the ferret "What is..doing Nardo? Why are you copying book for?"

Leigh says, "It looks like a healers book, maybe he wants another copy of it"

Nardo looks up and back to his work before he finally replies "It started as a punishment and now its more..being helpfyl, and one can learn..plus I am good at drawing plants and such.Angela needs a copy of her book so..I making her a copy, happy?" And back to work.

Vilfred nods "So you are,,being helpful to Angela, that is being very wise and nice at same time"

Leigh smiles "And other healers can use this extra book in the future seasons, that is wonderful"

Nardo looks up again and back to drawing , looks like comfrey leaves"I mean..yes it could be helpful to others indeed..might even make my own book, add a little stuff"

Vilfred grins "You are writing a book, on what is it to be about?"

Leigh says, "I think healer's book...maybe the Guosim could make one too"

Nardo half listens as he works, he then finally closes the book and looks at them "So..why so talkative right now? And I thought you guys disliked vermin species"

Vilfred replies "You are saving life of a Guosim leader..so are now friend to us. You are trustable to us"

Nardo asks, "So my guess is you dont usually trust us vermin types at all?""

Leigh shakes her head no "No...the last couple times we have had..major issues was due to vermin...first Ormaz...then it was after that an ambush of bandits when the camp was south by the church, that's when we lost our former Log-A-Log, an attack in the middle of the night"

Vilfred frowns "My sister Allea...died...right as she gave the call to awaken us...I was to be Log-A-LOg after that, but revenge we got agasit our foe that day..then..have camp by river again, it just needs...work , for sure better by next winter"

Leigh says, "yes for sure better"

Nardo asks, "Well maybe make a large building to stay in , in winter? I don't know" The ferret gives up , mutters and ends up going to sleep, after walking to the FAR side of the room.

Vilfred frowns "Was something be saying?"

Leigh shrugs "Maybe he just needs rest, like you should be getting Log-A-Log."

Vilfred rolls his eyes "Is not needing rest"About that time Lyra comes in "I 2nd the need for rest, who is with me?" All the shrews raise their paws as she grins " Its settled..rest for Log-A-Log" To which they all get a snort, but fine he will not argue with Lyra "Is fine..will rest"

Leigh grins a little,then chuckles"Log-A-Log is outvoted "

Lyra nods as if to confirm it "All in favor say Aye.." a loud "AYE" comes from all, even a novice who then rushes off.

Vilfred nods "Is fine..sides rest so can better go to feast in couple days"

Leigh says, "I think the feast will be good this season since they didn't have one in Autumn this one has to be very good as its two in one...ummm right?"

Vilfred nods as he relaxes"Yes is seeing as that being it yes. We all shall go to it and still help out around the abbey"

Lyra nods "Yes yes..now rest..or else..." Its wise to listen

Vilfred frowns and decides a nap is good right now, yep naps are nice.
