WHO:
Krisha-Badger Mother
Benar-Abbot
Teku-2nd in command of Gawtribe
Spoofed- couple other Gawtribe squirrels
LOG:
The Abbot is standing by the fire warming his tail on the flames as he looks up at the rest of the abbey. Seems he is just enjoying the fire and some quiet time alone.
Teku is watching the abbot from a tree before she slips closer over to him. A couple of other squirrels with her, by the outfit it is Gawtribe squirrels. She says nothing yet as she is just sort of watching him for now.
Benar is humming softly to himself as he loads another log into the fire, "Life is Strange and vast, filled with wonders and joys," he seems unconcerned by the approaching Gawtribe squirrels.
Teku blinks, she edges closer and then speaks "You are the leader of abbey?" She seems to be sort of in charge of the Gawtribe for now since Micco lost a paw-to-paw fight with John but at the same time...she sounds angry. Micco had started to go back into the treehouse but sliped and fell after passing out and was taken to the infirm by John...but it seems Teku and the others view it a bit differently as being helpful and more thier chief is captive somehow.
Benar turns to regard Teku, "I am Abbot Benar yes," he regards her over his glasses, "Your chief Micco is safe and well in our Infirmary, have you decdied to vacate the tree-house yet? It is the property of our children and there are much more comfortable places you can stay whilst visiting with us."
Teku listens but at first is silent. She looks back to the other couple with her and back to the abbot."Micco said tree is ours now. Gawtribe have no other home and travel much. Find home in old hollowed tree but the tree fell during storm . We seeked new home...ran into couple bad beasts and then was led here." The other two now come forwards as Teku talks "If notta stay in tree home, then where stay?"
Benar settles down on a log by the fire, idly stirring it with a stick to keep the flames going, "We have plenty of rooms inside the abbey," he nods toward the towering red sandstone edifice, "But I understand that might not be for the Gawtribe. We built the tree-house, we can also help you build another one but our children aren't going to let you just steal their treehouse."
Teku pouts now."Notta steal..no one inside at time, if thiers should stay in not leave all empty like did." The other two nod"And up to Micco if leave or stay"
Benar shakes his head, "It was not being used at the time, but that does not make it empty or free for you to move in," he continues to stir his fire, "It is the children's and the inside of the abbey is a lot more comfortable."
Teku takes a deep breath and mutters something, the abbot is lucky they have no weapons, the weapons are in the weapons area. She does have the other couple get closer to the abbot now."Why make go in...maybe you have chief captive and want us captive too....maybe we take you and then get chief back."
Benar looks down at Teku, "I suggest you think again before trying to harm me, it will go very badly for the lot of you and you'll end up thrown outside our walls with the Hospitality of Redwall rescinded and that is not something I do lightly." He stands up and shakes out his habit, "Do enjoy the fire, it should last for a few hours and keep you warm and if you want to see your chief do feel free to come inside and see him, the Infirmary staff will let him go once he is well enough."
"Back off" comes a voice and it's soon to be seen it's the Badger Mother and she doesn't look too happy with the tribe squirrels."For sure think carefully your next move or words."
Teku narrows her eyes and starts to go closer, then the squirrels are backing away rather quickly as Teku frowns, her ears go back as she tries to think of a response."Wasnt gonna harm...we wanna chief back"
Benar says, "Your chief is in our infirmary and he is safe," He shakes his head, "If you want to see him and don't want to come inside you can climb the outside of the building and look through the windows." he folds his arms into his sleeves, "It's ok Krisha, our unexpected squirrel guests won't do anything that might have me eject them from the abbey I am sure."
Krisha keeps an eye on the squirrels and speaks "I am going to have a little chat with your chieftain. This takeover of the treehouse had better end soon." She then looks to Benar" It may also be wise to keep John away from the Gawtribe for now."A glace at Teku"You're in charge for now I am guessing?"
Teku pouts again then a nod"Yeah....but Micco have the final say so."Her tail swings back and forth"Talk to chief and talk to alla Gawtribe....no tricks"
Benar says, "I don't do tricks," Benar said softly, "I am the Abbot of Redwall Abbey," he looked down at Teku, "I suggest you sit down as a tribe and discuss your stories of Redwall Abbey and then come inside for dinner one night, you may be surprised."
Krisha stays close to Benar and watches the squirrels for a reaction. She manages to stay calm for the time being,it all depends on how the Gawtribe handle this.
Teku tail puffs up and then she looks to the other two tribe squirrels and quietly speaks to them a few feet away, she glances back at the badger and the abbot quietly before finally speaking "I Teku...and say...we accept offer to come inside and....discuss." Its clear they are not gonna just totally leave the treehouse, least yet anyway.
Benar smiles and turns toward the abbey, "Very well, you are guests until I say otherwise," he looks at Teku, "But if anyone else attacks another member of my community there will be words delivered by an angry badger. No more fighting with anyone understand?" He then starts back toward the main building.
Krisha gives a look to Teku that she best listen to the abbot's words "You can let me know when you wish to visit your chieftain...perhaps even come inside or stay outside, your choice."
Teku frowns ears back and then a nod"Ok, ok...understands." The idea of going inside makes her unsure, she looks to her fellow tribe squirrels and back to the abbot and badger mother"Teku will pass on your words"
Benar says, "Very well Teku," he nods, "Your chief is free to leave as soon as he is well again, I will speak to you inside, until then enjoy the fire."
Krisha keeps an eye on the tribe as she waits for any reply, she nods to Benar "I can handle them Benar, not to worry"
Benar says, "No Krisha," he says as he starts up the path toward the entrance, "They do not need handling, don't make this worse by getting belligerent on me, we will deal with this calmly as a team. But for now I am going to my office."
Teku sits down, the other two squirrels sit down as well, the fire is nice and even though. She keeps an eye on the badger as she sits very quiet and still.
Krisha sighs, "Fine Benar..."She watches Benar walk off and glaces at the squirrels " You....discuss with the rest of the tribe . But be warned IF I hear of trouble or one of the dibbuns in my care....or any beast for that matter is hurt cause of one of you squirrels. I will personially -THOROW- you out of the abbey myself."She lets that sink in before following Benar inside.
Teku listens to all that is said, a glace at the badger who now looks very scary indeed.A small short slow nod and the squirrel maid speaks to one squirrel "Tella others meet here...we chat by nice fire."A nod and most of the tribe come to the firepit, two warriors stay in the treehouse, one on top and the other inside keeping an eye out and still , for now, claiming the tree as thier own.
I think Krisha may just visit the Gawtribe
should be in tnterresting
This sounds fun
I picture crying, angry dibbuns going to Mother Krisha and Abbot Benar
Who:
Krisha-Badger Mother
Saro-Redwall Guest
LOG:
Saro sits on a bench out in the cold air, playing a flute and not seeming to mind the snow a bit. It probably helps that she has her long tail curled around herself to add a little warmth. The tune she plays is a quiet one, and maybe slightly wistful.
Krisha walks towards the Fire Pit, it's been a while since she has come over here, deep in thought but then she stops as she hears music. She tilts her head and follows the sound finding it at the firepit as she stops to quietly listen to the tune, she was not expecting someone else to be here.
Saro has her eyes closed and seems lost in her music, so it's a few moments - until the end of her melody, in fact - before she realizes someone else is there. As the notes die away, the squirrel maid slowly lowers her flute and opens her eyes, then gives a start! "Oh," she says, sounding a little sheepish as she peers up at the recently arrived badger. "Hello there. Sorry, got a bit carried off."
Krisha smiles "It's fine. Your music is very nice by the way." She stays where she is for now"I don't usually see many here at the fire pit, I was gonna come here to think my..."She stops a moment before speaking again"My husband use to come here all the time."
Saro agrees, "It is quiet, isn't it.. haven't seen another soul out here for quite a while." Realizing that the fire in the pit has died down, she slides her flute back into its belt pouch and grabs up a stick to poke the embers back into life. "I'm glad you like the music," she says with a smile. "It's how I've made my way up here to the abbey; a few tunes for a few bites to eat.." She pauses thoughtfully, looking around. "It's a good place for thinking, here."
Krisha hmmms"Your welcome to a meal without having to play your music." She offers a smile "I am Krisha, Mother Krisha. Its nice to meet you. I have a small break from the dibbuns, they are with Sister Anna right now, well most of them are.My son is likely elsewhere knowing him."
Saro drops the stick to jump to her feet and bows to Krisha with a rather theatrical flourish. "Mother Krisha, the pleasure is mine. Another squirrel who lives here - John, he said his name was - opened the gates for me a few nights back. I was near perished of cold and hunger both, so I've been very grateful for the hospitality." Scratching her nose, she adds, "I did help in the kitchens a bit, I felt like a lazybones to take and not give back a little. Who's your son? I've still not met many people here yet, not to know their names."
Krisha chuckles some, "It's good you got inside." She decides to sit on one of the logs nearby."My son is Oz, me and my husband named him after the former Badger Mother..well Papa I suppose."She smiles at a memory"Papa Oz they called him, he was very wise...a bit of a hermit but very kind.He was blind ,but one would never know the way he always knew who was nearby and always knew where he was going.."She sighs "I miss him at times"
"Papa Oz the Badger Papa," Saro echoes thoughtfully and with a hint of a smile, following Krisha's lead to plop herself back down on a log. "Is that what you badgers do here at the abbey - take care of the dibbuns? I've seen a handful of them, racing up and down the stairs.." For a moment her tone is as wistful as her song had been. "And you became Badger Mother after Oz?"
Krisha nods "Yes, Oz died a couple winters ago."She is quiet a while " My husband...Xander, ..Xander was a warrior in charge of a group called Mossflower Defenders, he would use the fire pit as an area to hold meetings. The group is still around..just, well not as active, then it has been peaceful lately and that's good."A frown forms slightly as she talks of Xander though."No other badgers around, in this area anyways....on the western shores is of course Lord Ciocan,Badger Lord of the Long Patrol at Salamandstron."
Saro tucks her tail back around herself as she listens to Krisha. "The Mossflower Defenders, eh.. sounds like a brave bunch indeed. But hopefully your peace holds, and you can keep on without need of defenders..." Her brow wrinkles with a faintly worried air, and then she peers more closely at her badger companion. "Your husband Xander," she asks quietly. "He's gone now, too?"
Krisha nods "Yeah, l..last winter in fact. He was fighting a wildcat that was cuaseing some troube in the area." She sighs "The wildcat ended up taking our sone and made it as far as the westen shore, the wildcat was stoped so it's no longer a threat."
As Krisha describes her husband's fate Saro's eyes light up angrily. "Wildcats! Mangy-furred rotten-hearted -vicious- creatures! Is there nowhere they won't go and meddle a ruin good beasts' lives?" Her tail begins to flip furiously, nearly smacking Krisha herself - which makes the angry squirrel calm herself again. "Ugh, sorry," she says, grabbing her tail and holding onto it as it twitches, as if it had a separate wrath of its own. "A bunch of wildcats is why I had to leave my own home.. I'm-- sorry about your husband, too."
Krisha nods"At least the wildcat is long gone now, and my son is back home .It seems the wildcat tried to take over Salamanstron of all places, but was stoped by the Badger Lord, in fact a couple Long patrol hares came here to bring my son home"
Saro harrumphs quietly. "Well, that's something." She pets her tail as if comforting it, finally tucking it around herself again. "How far is Salamandastron from here? That's the legendary home of the Badger Lords, isn't it? My home is many leagues south and east of here, so I've never known anything of the mountain except in song and tale."
Krisha says, "About...2 weeks once you get to the river Moss and head west, other wise..well depends on how fast you travel by foot, 3-4 weeks away I guess."
"Hmm," Saro muses. "I'd like to go there one day. Would be a sight to see, for certain sure." She looks meditatively into the fire for a few moments, then back to Krisha. "D'you think it'd be all right for me to stay here at the abbey for a while, though? I.. don't really have anywhere else to go, and I can make myself useful."
Krisha nods "Yes, you could stay here and maybe even live here if like. You could ask Abbot Benar about it."
Saro says, "I think I'd really like that, if the Abbot approves.. This place seems just.. special. Peaceful, and kind. I'd like to live someplace like that."
Krisha smiles "It is special....."And then a pancing hedgehog comes over, the badger frowns and speaks "Calm youe self Anna wh--..."I..I was watching them, and they sliped off and oh my goodness those dibbuns just plum locked the door to the library..it's hard to tell what .."The badger mother slowly stood up and sighs "Ok let's handle this.."She nods
We need to get that base in Halyard again.
Maybe still have it by the docks, but like build one both ICLY and OOCLY. I know some got confused with that houseboat(which seems to not let anyone chown it some reason).

Krisha-Badger Mother
Benar-Abbot
Rufus-LP Gul,Messenger
LOG:
Rufus was able to fly, though he did take a few breaks and then the last couple days it got annoyingly colder, but he had a message in his pouch and knew it was important so he braved the cold and finally made it. Right away heading to the fireplace in the Great Hall as a couple of gasps and shock from Abbey beast that he was here, some mutters as some had no clue of the bird, a small few knew of him though at least.
Krisha looks up from where she sits in a large chair and studies the seagull, then she seems to remember him from elsewhere, she looks over at the bird."Rufus?"
Benar comes wandering down the stairs and into the Great Hall, the Abbot has heard some muttering that a bird has arrived and his tail sways from side to side as he sees Rufus, "Rufus... what on earth are you doing here at this time of year?"
Rufus answers as if it's fairly clear," Rufus be freezing feathers off...but Rufus promise he bring message, all bunnies be busy, busy bunnies...busy Bunny Lord."He fixes a feather and looks at the abbot. He does reply to Krisha "Tis Rufus, who else be but Rufus?"
Krisha listens as the gull replies and sighs, she shakes her head and asks "Message?" She is a little curious," And why are..."Oh yeah, he likely just say busy.."Message about what?"
Benar walks over to the seagull, "Surely it could have waited until Spring? It can't be that important that it could not wait?"
Rufus seems to think on this, he puffs out a little and smooths some feathers down."Rufus would of liked better, but Bunny Lord said important to know so no worry"He undoes the strap on his pouch and pulls out a couple of sealed scrolls, one is from Lord Ciocan and another from Lt.Elbio.
Krisha lets Benar take the letters, a slight look of worry on her face. She was not sure why they would worry about, well there is the fact the lt. was late but maybe it was just for a simple reason, she clears her throat "Maybe Rufus can stay here till spring?"
Benar takes the letter and moves to sit in his chair by the fire and opens the letter and starts to read, adjusting his glasses to get a good look at it.
Rufus nods"Rufus like that ya ya, stay where warm..fly in winter is cold, not so cold on Western Shore or in..nest." He looks around as he seems to think"Rufus stay, where Rufus stay at in Red House?"
Krisha hmms softly,"We could ask the sparrow but they are..a little picky and..well can some getting use to,they don't come down from the lofts much and I would suggest not going to the lofts yourself. We can..think of someplace I am sure"
Benar says, "I am sure we can find you a room down here, no need to bother the Sparra in their loft," he said softly as he continued reading the letter."
Rufus nods "Ya....find warm place for sleep.Rufus stay till spring then fly back to shores where big waer is."
Krisha nods"Maybe the cellar or some unused room." She glances at Benar."Is all alright at Salamanstron?"
Rufus says, "Rufus say...unused room, notta cella"
Krisha nods "I will look into it then here soon. "
Benar says, "We have bedrooms upstairs, they are pretty warm,"
Rufus nods"Tis good ya ya."She watches the abbot read a while before yawning "Rufus need sleep..."He gets cozy on a blanket he drags over to the fireplace, not too close of course, and settles down for a short nap.
Krisha sighs as Rufus just ends up sleeping by the fireplace, she looks at Benar "I will make sure he is in one of the unused rooms upstairs by evening"
Benar nods as he reads the letter, and looks at the 2nd letter as well."I need to speak with the elders and a couple of others."He looks at the badger and lets her read the letters before he gets them back to share the news with others, quietly excusing himself.
Krisha blinks but reads over the letter, a soft gasp as she sees if she misread something, she then hands it back to Benar and frowns, she heads to the library to sit in quiet for a little while.
role play at the mountain(Velm and Donica wedding today)
also some role play at the abbey
going on right now ![]()
True,
Some hares disliked Zolomon but some still liked him...Donica had mixed feelings about him,sh would of tended to any wounds he had if he had lived.
But yeah,
His death was sad
Even Ciocan has to be sad about it too
WHO:
Krisha-Badger Mother
Patch-Spy,Tavern Owner,Ale Maker
LOG:
Patch needed a break from the tavern and so it was closed for the day, most inFerravale seemed happy enough at home or at the bonfire in Main Square. Today was one of the rare days, Patch could have a full day off and no one cared, so he was hanging out in his treehouse in the woods, it had been a while since he checked on the place, luckily it still stood.
Krisha meanwhile was also in the woods, walking along quietly, and soon grew tired and sat down on a fallen log. A frown formed as she glanced around,a sigh as she just tried to tune in to the quiet.
Patch was always alert, weather in the woods or elsewhere, and did a fair job finding out what went on around Mossflower and if he didn't know, well he had a small pawful of beasts he trusts to kept him updated, and today seemed to just be a normal day, nothing much going on in Mossflower of much interest.
Krisha didn't seem to be paying attention to things around her as she just sat alone on the log and then started crying, it had been a while since she really cried, but it was winter now and the first winter without...Xander.
Patch muttered to himself and then his pace slowed, his ears perked some as he heard, what was it..crying? He edged ever closer and soon was a few feet away from the Badger Mother. He shook his head, nope he was not going to bother with this, and started to walk away. Then a deep groan as he forced himself to turn around and walk into view, a deep breath "Ya know, I try and know all that's like happening, it been quiet and quiet is good...most of the time. A hare may or may not be missing, knowing your abbey hare he is probably somewhere where there is food, likely fine and back when it's warm, warmer by that badger mountain place."He places his paws on his hips "Course thar is some more serious news, a beast missing from the abbey..some slight panic, nothing too much yet, that pin cushion refuses to tell the Abbot yet....nope.Gee whom is missing, oh yeah.."He tilts his head "You"
Krisha gasps and is a bit started when she sees Patch, and then a glare"How DARE you sneak around the woods and scare beasts like this..." There are still signs she was crying just before he found her.
Patch takes a few paces back "Whoa whoa, I am not sneaking...I am being smart.Ya never know what sorts of beasts could be in de woods...robbers or something...course likely look for something besides a badger ta rob."He steps closer studyig her."Wot's wrong? Something is and if ya say no...tis a lie"
Krisha crosses her arms over her chest and snorts. Then sighs.."Just..needed to get away from the abbey, too cheerful there right now and I rather not be there right now. I needed some time alone..."She frowns"Me and..Xander liked to come to this area of the woods sometimes, rarely but..still."
Patch frowns "Stripy...yeah he be missed round de tavern too...ya know ya could come to de tavern, of all de Redwallers..Tavern beasts always did respect ya Winters bunch...course up ta you, ya do have your duties and all"
Krisha raised an eyebrow "And why are you away from the tavern, don't you own it now?"
Patch sits down"De one day tis closed...hey even Ferravale has tis Longest Day of the year thing, gifts ect.....all that." He looks at the badger "So....ya should wander back ta the abbey, I mean I am gonna head back ta Ferravale here soon..."
Krisha shrugs,"I will, just not sure."A frown "You said someone is looking for me?"
Patch nods "That Champion and a couple of other beasts from de abbey. Not too far from 'ere....want ta find ya before saying anything da de abbot bout it."
Krisha sighs "I..I suppose I should head back. I just..the season....the ...time of the year..I miss Xander."
Patch frowns "Well....I do too, he was a very likable beast."He stands "Come on...tis gonna ruin me day if I don't make sure they find ya safe and sound like."
The two walk to a nearby clearing and soon are reunited with the Champion and a couple of other beasts from the abbey, the Champion thanks the rat and heads back to the abbey with Krisha and the others, while Patch heads back to the tavern in Ferravale.
Krisha sat quietly at the table in her room. , She had not done too much planning for The Winter Solstice, in fact, Sister Anna reminded her about cookies and hot cocoa. The Badger Mother decided to put Sister Anna and Brother Rick in charge of that job this season.
Gorvenalus walked over and spoke, "You doing ok Krisha?, You seem down, today is not a day to be down." He offered a smile.
Krisha sighed "Yeah, well this season isn't the same, it's...."She shrugs "Just feels...depressing." A frown "I didn't even get things ready for the dibbuns, I let Sister Anna and Brother Rick handle it. There is no...special visitor this year that's helping. Not even any..snow"
Gorvenalus sits down "Well, perhaps the Snow Badger is busy this season"He suggests, "It does happen. He perhaps...needed more helpers at his home."
Krisha sighs and shakes her head."What about...the whole checking on them, making sure they are good this season, the whole...he comes tomorrow."
Gorvenalus hmmms"Well, there is still the cookies, the hot cocoa and I think the friar even made candy chestnuts."A smile"There is still a quiet night, the dibbuns are happy and the abbey dwellers are also enjoying hot cider and holiday tarts...care to join us?"
Krisha frowns "I..I rather not Brother Gorvenalus, I am just fine up here. Besides, I may go to bed and sleep in tomorrow, I am sure I won't be the only one to sleep in a little."She knew most did sleep in the next day as the adults usually stayed up late to make sure all was ready for the morning. The dibbuns would have their treats and small gifts, gifts would be passed around, opened, or wrapped for the morning for other abbey dwellers and friends. She would just stay in bed, take the day off and just perhaps sleep a lot.
Gorvenalus sighs as he stands up"If that's your wish, but I may likely check on you later on, alright."
Krisha just nodded and watched as the beaver walked out of the room, she got up only to shut the door and sit back down in the chair, her first winter season without Xander and it hurt, it hurt more than she let on.
It was the next morning, of course, the dibbuns woke up early, but at least things were ready for them and the half-asleep helpers.
No snow, but it was cold and some frost was on the windows and a little on the ground. So it seemed the Snow Badger was not delivering snow just yet, perhaps to make up for over snow last season.
A novice went to check on the Badger Mother, knocking and then entering the room "Ummm Nother Krisha are you...ummm....." Eyes wide as the Badger Mother was nowhere in sight, a slight panic and then quickly going to tell someone. After a , quiet look around the abbey grounds, she was not found and she did not mention she was heading outside. Finally, finally, they spoke to a guard that was on duty that, oh yeah early this morning the Badger Mother had slipped out for a walk or something very early that morning,.......said guard got a lecture on how to maybe TELL SOMEONE THIS INFO like SOONER.
Hopefully, someone went out to make sure all was well, or just hoped she be back soon.
So where is Krisha? Did someone go look for her? When will she be back? Find out in a furture Log!
The Snow Badger/Winter solstice Time log up soon as I edit it. I miss the logger

WHO:
Zolom-Rouge
Donica-Private/Healer of LP
Rhonwen-Private/Fighter of LP
Felicity-Sargeant/Runner of LP
Ciocan-Badger Lord
Couple Spoofed Privates of the LP
LOG:
News from Rufus informed the Patrol on where to look for Zolomon, a couple weeks had passed since the whole snake on the shore event, some rest and recovery happen during those two weeks. Some hares still were recovering, some just wanted to stay home, a small group was chosen by Ciocan, who himself joined in on the mission to locate Zolomon and deal with him.
The group split into 2 smaller groups to better scan the area, both groups alert for danger or possible surprises.
Donica looked around the area and sighs"He could have left the area, one never knows."
Rhonwen shrugs"Let's see...if I wanted to hide where would I bally well go....."She then spots the cave.."A cave maybe?"
Ciocan steps forwards, a frown "I think this area use to belong to the Seatide Otter Holt. Be careful, if Zolomon is here he has skills the same as you, perhaps more skills as he was a Sargeant."
The small cave in question has seen better days, and was used by the otter holt, but not very often. They had, in fact, started to fix it up to use as possible storage but a couple support beams were cut into with some sort of blade. There was a faint light towards the back of the cave. A couple of small caves and half-broken huts were seen a little up shore.
Zolomon was inside by a firepit in the back, half asleep at the moment. He had not gotten much sleep lately as injuries the past few weeks, and some recent ones, didn't heal very well/One on his leg kept ripping open and then healing badly, and infection set in, causing a fever that went up and down. The hare had some stolen supplies from passing beasts, his food has mainly been fish, maybe a seagull a couple of times, even seaweed.
Donia adjusts her healer pouch and nods."Of course sur, always good to be careful."
Rhonwen peeked inside once they got up to the cave entry and slipped in just a small bit when she walked right into some thick webbing and screamed when something landed on her face. "Spider! Get it off, get it off!"
Ciocan laid a paw on his war hammer and then sighed, just a spider but the screaming was not wise."Private...." He spoke," Quietness is needed on a mission like this."
And as if to prove a point a gasp, and moments later an arrow is fired from the back of the cave! "Leave now or someone dies!"
Donia quickly gets out her sling and selects a smooth rock, ready to fight.
Rhonwen eeps as an arrow brushes past her ear."Too...close"
Ciocan narrows his eyes and speaks "Zolomon, drop your weapons and step out of the cave.If you contuine to attck..I will have no other choice than to stop you, permanently."
Zolomon steps closer and fires off an arrow"Shut up!"
Donica let loose the stone from her sling.
Rhonwen frowned and watched the hare, she quickly went to get her dirk and cussed out loud, it was a bit stuck.
Ciocan moved in front of the hare mad, using his arm to block. The arrow hit the edge of the padding and chainmail on his arm but does manage to sink into the skin a little causing only a small oozing of blood. The badger's eyes narrow as anger starts to set in"Zolomon..it is unwise to continue the course of action you are taking'
Zolomon backs up glaring at the group, he was out of arrows but he could still fight with a saber, a stolen one as it was Slaw's but he could care less."I hate all of you! and wot...threats? I could care...less."
Donica frowns, she backs up a little now still having her sling out and waiting on what to do next since it seems they found him, no question on that.
Ciocan growls now. he steps closer to the hare, it's not wise to anger the badger as he pulls the arrow out of his arm and tosses the arrow aside."Not theats"
Rhonwen stays still where she is "Sur?....wot do we do now?" She rather not stay in this cave, who knows what else is in this place maybe hidden in the shadows, waiting on them.
Felicity has been scouting out the backside of this place with a pair of Privates, searching for back entrances and such. Only now are they rejoining the main group. Having missed what has happened before, the Sergeant makes a quick guess and steps in quickly. "M'Lord, may I, please?" She steps up beside the badger, trying to place a restraining paw on his arm. She then smiles at Zolomon. She, too, has a sabre, her uncle Flint's that she's been training with. She's not a fool, but she also believes that violence isn't always the answer. "Zolomon...my friend. I won't fight you. I jus' want t'talk."
Zolomon snorts"Talk?..friend?" He chuckles dryly"I have no friends Sargeant." He keeps a close eye on the badger and the others. He isn't putting as much weight on his right foot paw it seems."Talk of wot...hmmm?"
Donica frowns more, she glances at where Ciocan was hit, well least it's not somewhere vital but for now, she isn't too close to him, just in case a fight starts with Zolomon."Is talking wise?"
Ciocan grips his war hammer and starts to slide it free of its place on his belt, when Felicity touches his arm he looks back to her, right now he is barely controlling a building rage for Zolomon, he then calms a little as he speaks"Felicity, what do you plan to do?This could turn into a dangerous situation quickly"
Rhonwen decides to make sure no friends are around to help Zolomon so she decides to keep watch near the entrance of the cave, better safe than sorry after all.
Felicity doesn't actually have much of a plan. She's just hoping something good might come out of talking instead of fighting. She lets her hurt show. "I've always been y'friend, Zol'mon. Don't y'remembah any o' tha'? I've done nothin' but show y'kindness an' suppoht. 'Ave y'fo'gotten tha'?" She is watching Zolomon, ready for any sudden moves, but hoping he doesn't do anything drastic.
Zolomon keeps a hold of his saber and looks from Felicity to the badger lord and to the others."Your...tricking me, tis a lie...no one cares,no one cares at all! "He shakes his head"No one listened, no one looked fer me fer...anything good, ya let that..."Oh he hates the name.."Terrence get arrows fired at me,..."
Donica decides to check the arrow wound Ciocan has,she listens to the exchange of words as she is careful. She will also bandage the wound after she applies some herbs to prevent any swelling or infection.
Ciocan takes a deep breath, managing to calm a little but he is still very alert. He starts to move his arm from the healer and then lets her tend to it. The wound is not very deep at all, no stitches will be needed. It seems most of the arrow was stopped by the chain mail,a couple links of chain mail are a little bent. A slight bit of oozing blood, he should be fine in a few days.
Felicity shakes her head, shifting slightly to get out of Donica's way. "No, I tried t'stop Terrence. 'E jus' didn't listen t'me. I've always cared 'bout you. Y'm'friend, an' I nevah wanted anythin' bad t' 'appen t'you." She keeps a watchful gaze on him, but she also keeps her word and does nothing to make it look like she'll attack.
Zolomon looks like he is listening, somewhat. As the name is said he narrows his eyes, "Terrence...I HATE that hare,he needs ta die. He made ya like him....you and him, then wot new..ha ha ha...everyone leaves...or dies."He frowns some now as if debating on listening more or not,he tilts his head"Leaving, ya all leave now buye bye"
Donica speaks to Ciocan,"It's not too bad...."She speaks of the arrow wound and glances over at Zolomon unsure what to do and hoping nothing else happens.
Ciocan nods to Donica and looks over at Zolomon."You have a choice..surrender and come along peacefully or..."Well, the hare should know what the other choice would be.
Felicity blinks back tears. How could her friend have deteriorated like this? But she refuses to give up on him. "No, Zol'mon, please..." she pauses as the badger speaks, then quickly adds, "Zolomon, please surrendah. 'Twill go bettah foh you. I don't want t'see y' 'urt...y'my friend. I care 'bout y', even though y'can't see it right now. Please, jus' come wi' us, peaceably."
Zolomon his half an ear flattens as he glares at them all."Care? How....and already hurt..."He looks at the firepit, the doorway, and the small opening in the back, barely wide enough for a hare to squeeze though but he could...maybe.He scans the room and again looks at the others."Better?" He sounds uneasy
Donica puts her sling away and paws up to show she won't attack if he gives up now. This could go smoothly and she hopes and prays it does, so far no one has been...well seriously injured.
Ciocan keeps focused on Zolomon, he lets his paw off his war hammer, letting it rest again but a paw stays close to it."If you choose to surrender,no one will harm you. But if you choose unwisely...I can't keep that promise." Dec 18, 2021 at 11:01 p.m.
Felicity smiles and takes half a step closer. "Aye, 'twill be bettah foh everybeast if y'come quietly. We c'n see t'y'wounds, too -- I see y'not walkin' so well wi' y'right leg." She pauses to let the badger talk, and smiles encouragingly. "Aye, an' I'll back up tha' promise. I will personally deal wi' anybeast whot tries t' 'arm y' if y'surrendah now. Y'my friend."
Zolomon looks at her paw and raises the saber and then lowers it a little, he nods and steps forward oddly relaxed, and then suddenly he swings the blade at Felicity! He kicks over some stolen supplies towards the firepit causing a little more smoke and a bit of ash to be in the air a brief moment!"NOT GOING BACK!!"
Donica had been relaxed, ok that was a bad idea as she gasps at the sudden movement and goes to step back a little, almost tripping over a loose canteen that rolls towards her.
Ciocan had been watching closely, ready for anything out of place. All seemed fine at first but then he catches the blade movement and yells out as he pulls free his warm hammer"Look out!" He coughs a little when some more smoke fills the area briefly.
Felicity had also relaxed slightly, but when she see the blade flash through the air, she draws her own sabre in the nick of time, blocking the strike. Fear flicks through her eyes, but she doesn't counter-attack. All she does is defend. She told him and Greg that she wouldn't fight him, and she intends to keep her word. "Zolomon, think 'bout whot y'doin'!"
Zolomon snorts as his eyes blaze hate back at the hare maid"I am..."He swings the blade and smirks."Time to die Felicity! Then I can kill Terrence when he cmes to morn ya...hahahahahah"
Donica screams and looks to shocked to do anything right now, she moves and trips on the canteen now and slowly gets up to get a stone into her sling.
Ciocan gets his long dagger out as it's quicker and goes to slice at Zolomon's leg aiming to seriously hurt him, he also uses his other paw to get his war hammer out to use it if needed.
Felicity is fighting too hard to defend herself from his strikes to say anything more. She is still not fighting back, only defending herself, and all of her skill is being used to do that. She backs up a little to try and give herself more room to maneuver when her heel slips on some loose gravel. She hits the ground hard, her breath being knocked out of her. She raises her sabre to try and block anything, but she's very rattled.
Zolomon grins, that look is not a good look at all on his face as he smirks and goes for a move that could well kill most beasts, but a cry of pain as his leg is suddenly sliced and he loses some balance messing up some of the saber's route. He snorts and backs up slightly starting at the badger now as he pants, tired, and looks at that tiny entry point in the back of the cave. Then back to the badger, maybe the hare should run.
Donica's eyes go wide and then she snaps out of her trance and lets the stone fall out of her sling, she is also getting ready to treat any wounds, as someone is gonna get hurt she just knows that already.
Ciocan's eyes flash a bit, borderline blood wrath as he is so very close as he has the hammer out and looks ready to finish zolomon off,"You..were ...warned."
The combination of Felicity sort of blocking with her sabre and Ciocan distracting Zolomon is enough to keep her from being killed. However, she can't avoid it completely, and Zolomon's sabre still slices a thin cut across her abdomen. She stifles a cry, then scoots back a little, trying to not shout from pain. Tears trickle down her cheeks as she watches the shell of what used to be her friend face the Badger Lord.
Zolomon breaths in and out as......yeah he should run, he grips the saber and then throws it at the badger and quickly gets out the back way, he leaves behind a trail of blood from his leg and, well if he wasn't limping before he is now as he manages a few paces running and then tumbles and rolls into the shallows and tenses up in pain from the wound. He uses his cape to stop the bleeding and shivers, hide...hide...he has to hide, he finds a sort of fallen log and passes out once he crawls inside. He is alive, but clearly hurt bad.
Donica moves closer to Filifty if she can to check on her wound, "Sargeant....let me look please..."
Ciocan growls as he swings the hammer into the back of the cave wall, he barely misses Zolomon and snarls...he then blinks as the old cave is not too steady. He places the war hammer and long dagger back and goes to quickly, yet gently, scoop up Felicity and exit the cave."Private Donica outside now!" He will of course make sure both hares are safe outside the cave as he looks back and calms slowly.
The 2 Privates who had been with Felicity hurry outside ahead of the badger. Felicity keeps hold of her sabre as Ciocan scoops her up. When they get the chance, Donica will see that while the cut is long and will need stitches, it's also not very deep. The Sergeant will be released from the Salamandastron Infirmary in the morning with the only restriction being that she not go on any missions and she be careful with her training for 3 weeks. Her emotions, however....well, she is definitely heartbroken. But at least she can tell everyone why now.
Donica is already getting outside with a small eep and looks back to the others "Wot...wot now? look fer him?" She will do what is needed to help the Sargeant, the chief healer can help further but the Sargeant will be ok on the way back to the infirm.
Ciocan looks down at Felicity, then looks at Donica"He won't get far, we go back to the mountain."He can carry Felicity back, "We know where Zolomon is now, I will be sending other hares out right away." They get back and just as he promises, some hares are sent out soon to find Zolomon.
Role Play happening by western shores
The tables are set with all sorts of good food and drink. From soups, pies, pasties, all sorts of brads and cheese, and other well-known Redwall dishes. There are also ales and cordials to drink. The table settings are decorated with colored fall leaves, and paper flowers of red, orange, and yellow.
Beasts from around Mossflower and Ferravale are gathered, friends and family, for the autumn feast. The feast had been delayed a couple of times and now it's finally here, the Abbot enters with a smile and nods."Welcome friends to the Autumn feast, I do hope all is well. We have had much happen, but the Autumn has been good. We have our peace treaty with Ferravale, we have our friends from camp Willow and the GUOSIM."
"So I welcome you to...The Autumn of Peace"
Gorvenalus smiles at the name, writing it down in his logbook"A fine name indeed Benar. I am glad the feast was able to still happen, it would have been missed if it had not"
Krisha makes sure the dibbuns behave themselves as the Abbot welcomes everyone. She smiles and she and the dibbun helpers on duty will help the dibbuns get their plates of food."I like the name as well."
Oz waits for things to start, he looks a little bored but then gets a little excited when things are just about to start finally. He is still with the dibbuns for now, having missed a little of his time after he was away a couple of seasons. He is near novice age but he may just stick around the dibbuns for a bit longer.
Benar chuckles, after a prayer of thanks he smiles"Let the feast begin."He says quietly and stands to get his own plate of food and a drink as well. It had been decided to wait on the pie making contest, but there were still a few different pies to try as others seemed to make pies anyways to share with all.
Gorvenalus waits as he updates the log book first before he gets his own meal. He smiles, maybe next Autumn or perhaps in the summer or spring there could be a pie making contest to judge the best made pies. He was happy to update the log book with happy events after the ending of summer and the very beginning of autumn not being as nice of news, the autumn ends on good news, and in a short 3-4 weeks, it would be winter but he knew the abbey was well prepared for winter already.
Krisha makes sure the dibbuns get some food before she does, "No dessert just yet...Tim not that many rolls, everyone else wants a roll as well."She shakes her head and goes to get herself a plate Perhaps, no desert yet as that would set a bad example, desert can wait a short while.
Oz is, disappointed in no desert yet but he does like a little hot root soup and salad, as well as a couple of scones and fizzy strawberry drink, which seems a popular choice among the dibbuns.
Gorvenalus sits by Benar "It looks like everyone is enjoying the feast this season Benar. I do wonder if maybe in the summer or next Autumn we could do a pie baking contest?" He smiles "It could be enjoyable even."
Krisha sits down, so far the dibbuns are behaving well for the feast.
Benar says, "Prehaps, this season I wanted to keep it nice and simple, nothing too over the top as one may say.I know before it may of been with a pie making contest and a wedding, but that changed when the wedding was canaled."A smile"But maybe in Summer or even spring, we shall
Gorvenalus sits by Benar "It looks like everyone is enjoying the feast this season Benar. I do wonder if maybe in the summer or next Autumn we could do a pie baking contest?" He smiles "It could be enjoyable even."
Benar takes a sip of October Ale "Maybe the summer, or spring we shall see. I am just glad for the peace we have now and hope it lasts."
Gorvenalus nods "I as well my friend. We are good on winter supplies and winter should not be nearly as bad as it was last winter season, least I hope it is not as bad."
Krisha smiles as she overhears some. "It's almost a bit less stressful than last season's feast, we had like 3 or 4 hares eating at the feast for the Summer one."She hmms"Speaking of hares, you think Elbio is on his way back home by now."She chuckles "He will likely hate that he missed the Autumn feast."
Benar nods as he takes a few bites of food."Yes, and the friar is likely glad as well. As for Lt. Elbio, I expect him back in a week or two, unless he decides to come back in the spring. Hopefully, we will have a message delivered, he may well stay for the winter and spend time with his daughter, Ciana. She had gone with him to become a recruit for the Long Patrol"
Gorvenalus smiles as he remembers "True, young Ciana did tag along with him.Gee, they do grow up fast don't they, a little too fast sometimes. I am sure she will do well. I would not worry Benar if Elbio is not back before the snow, then likely he is back in the spring, he may have decided not to risk possible early snowfall"
Krisha groans "Do not wish early snow, that was bad enough last winter."A small frown, the winter was bad for other reasons as well but she tries not to dwell on that.
Benar says, "Think on happy times Krisha, right now enjoy the feast." He offers a smile as he raises his glass."To peace"
Gorvenalus raises his glass"Yes to peace, and the hope it lasts for a good long while"
Krisha manages a smile,"Yes peace is good. I do hope it lasts as well. The Autumn has ended nicely, and it's not gotten very cold yet so hopefully, winter is a bit calmer this time around."
Benar leans back in his chair a moment and then goes to visit with others around the Great Hall as they enjoy the feast.
Gorvenalus chuckles as he finishes his ale and looks around the room. He has already updated the logger for the season name and will likely write more later tonight of current events and happens in the area.
From the direction of the library, the loud banging of the door echos throughout the room - though over the sound of the beast feasting it isn't /that/ noticeable. A rather harried and young looking squirrel who still has a bit of dust on his ears and a bit of ink staining his shirt hurries over to the table, carrying a massive book.
"Er," Spruce glances around, asking the hall at large, "I don't suppose I missed the naming of the season, did I?"
Krisha relaxes, every so often she checks to make sure the dibbuns are still behaving and so far, so good. She blinks as she looks over at the squirrel.."Spruce?"
Benar walks over to Spruce"Do join us young squirrel."He smiles"This is the Autumn of Peace in honor of our peace treaty with Ferravale, and our peace with our friends the GUOSIM and Camp Willow."He glances at the book"What is the book you have?"
Gorvenalus turns to see whom is coming down the stairs, he frowns a bit but says nothing just yet. He gets a little more ale and clears his throat"Do be careful with old books from the library, history is important after all as well as the many other books and maps in the library."
"Thank you, father abbot, sir," Spruce imply says, not addressing any of the questions - instead the squirrel wriggles his way between two order members to make room for himself, pushes aside a few dishes here and there, and then, with a loud /THUMP/, sets the large book on the table. From somewhere in his pockets he produces an ink bottle and quill, then opens the book halfway through it with a softer /thump/, and begins scribbling something inside.
"Autumn of Peace - that name's new, thankfully," he mutters to himself as he writes, "And there - that'll do, I should like to think!"
Resisting the urge to close the book on the drying ink, the squirrel stands back up. "Don't you worry yourself overmuch, brother recorder, sir, not an old book I'm desecrating - it's my own, it is. And as soon as it's dry I'll give it to you, father Abbot, if it pleases you, that is."
Krisha is curious of the book"What is the book, Spruce? It looks fairly heavy with a lot of information in it."
Benar glances at the book, he nods."Alright young Spruce, now do enjoy my Autumn feast please."He nods to a novice to get the young squirrel a plate of good things to eat and a drink as well.
Gorvenalus arches an eyebrow and hmmms"A history book my guess? History is important to pass down to the young beasts, to everyone really."He sighs"I only wish some of the history in Willowbark was not lost, but sadly it was when the abbey was nearly destroyed, luckily the beasts managed to rebuild and fix Willowbark again, maybe not to its formal glory but still, rebuilt."
The mention of Willowbark causes the young squirrel to whine slightly, but he quickly recovers.
"Something like a history, aye." Spruce says with a bright smile. "And I'd guess it'd good enough now - so," he gingerly picks up the massive tomb, looking from the Abbot to the elders and back, "Then I'll gift this to the father Abbot and Redwall Abbey as a whole, then." He holds the book out which have neat lettering on the front reading 'The Abbey Records'. "A compilation of every serving record made since the time before the Great Earthquake, copied meticulously by me, it is, and it's taken me months. In proper chronological order, it is. And," he adds with an air of going on slightly longer than he needed to, "I figured might be a good idea to live half empty, for future records."
Krisha watches a smile"All in one large book, that is helpful for when we may need to look up something. "A thought"I wonder what happen to some of the recorder logs before the..earthquake was it? I have not heard many speak of it"
Benar nods as he looks over the large log book."Thank you spruce."He offers a smile"You indeed have been busy, maybe you can even help Brother Gorvenalus in his library, or with other records."He glances at the Badger Mother " Some older logs may well be in storage in the gatehouse, some are in my quarters as well."A frown "Some may have been lost during the earthquake, I am not sure. But there are still old history logs around yes, but since some aw very old they are rarely touched as to not mess up the old pages."He nods again to the young spruce"If your excuse me now, I must mingle with the rest of the feast guests."
Gorvenalus hmmms softly, "Yes that will be useful indeed, there are times history needs looked up and names of seasons even. We sometimes find a need to look up past events to help us at times.Info on some groups, old and new are in books in the library"
Spruce nods, happy the book is well received. "The earthquake took place around a few seasons or so - I've had quite a bit of trouble finding anything going back /that/ far, mind you, Badgermother - before the birth of the late Abbot Lorimis, some seventy-three, seventy-four seasons ago." He rattles on, "Seems to have damaged most records, far as I can tell from my digging -I've done my best to dust and clean what I've come across and not leave a mess, of course - and the few times the Abbey has been infested by vermin hasn't helped, neither. But now I'll have to check to the gatehouse, father Abbot - been sticking to the library and attic for my sources, I have. And," He taps the tome, "Every season name that were recorded or survived to now, at least, is in here."
Krisha nods, "Remember to speak to Dorarose, she lives above the gatehouse, I don't know if the champion has any records or not, maybe formal champions. They may have moved some records, hid old records maybe?"She is unsure."I do have a recording of former badger mothers, it even has some writtings from Mother Bella"
Gorvenalus smiles at Krisha"I remember Oz mentioning that book to you Krisha, his last writing in it is most interesting."
Lacota comes out of the kitchen after all that. "I have records from Friars going as far back as the time of Matthias," he remarks.
Lacota says, "Friar Hugo he was back then... Apparently slain by Slagar the Cruel."
"Badger mother - Friar recordings...? " Spruce's eyes dart from the recorder to the badger mother. "How far do they go back?" He blinks, looking down at the ground and thinking aloud, "How come I've never heard of these before? Why didn't I check...?" Looking dazed slightly, he sits back down where the plate of food had been set, absentmindedly starting his meal.
Krisha shrugs "I am unsure. I would show any who asked and who knows they may have written down something important from the past that will be useful in the future"
Lacota tuts at the young squirrel. "The Friar's room was a terrible mess when I first took over the position," he remarks. "There were records going back hundreds upon hundreds of seasons' worth of Friars. Recipes, notes, inventories. You name it.
Krisha listens as all the history information is shared or least where to find some of it.
Spruce nods slowly, taking it all in as he eats. "I... see. Well, suppose there's still work to be done, then..."
Lacota hmms. "Well, I'm not sure I can let you just go rifling through my room, Lad. At least not without my supervision."
Krisha says, "Yes its a good idea to ask first"
"/Certainly,/' grins Spruce. "I wouldn't dream of risking your ire, friar, sir. But," his voice becomes a stage whisper, "The book does contain a confession from me that I didn't exactly ask the brother recorder, but the library /is/ a more public place than the friar's room, I'd argue."
Lacota nods. "Well, just... There's items very personal to me there."
Something in the back of his mind stirred at those words, but Spruce couldn't say what as he looked up at the friar. "Understandable, certainly. Though, if I might say, friar, it might be a right good idea to move them older records - not the recipes, naturally - out of your quarters, to the library. That way me and other curious beasts won't be rifling through your stuff every time we want to look..."
The rest of the feast was peaceful and friends chated, family spent time together, and the abbey enjoyed the peace while it was here. The feasting and fellowship lasted late into the night and a couple of beasts were even still awake in the early morning.
The Autumn of Peace feast day was enjoyed by all who came to it!
The Autumn of Peace is going on now at the abbey.
I hope they get a message Elbio will stay gone a bit longer, otherwise they will likely just assume he stayed the winter and is back in spring. And get news whenever he is back on anything that happen
Maybe have final on the 3rd and still wedding on the 4th?
Most days are ok for me
didn't spoof Renee, I think Rhonwen did. BUT I will have Donica on this Saturday.
Hmmm,
Wonder if we should just move this to November 6th, it's a Saturday as well.
WHO:
Donica- Private/ Healer in LP
Velm- Lt. / Healer in LP
Quinten-General/ Recorder in LP
LOG:
Donica yawns as she wakes up and rubs her eyes. She starts to go about the morning chores and stuff needed, This from only a little sleep.
Velm has been up. looking over a clip board on who is supposed to be at camp, who in Halyard and whom on patrol. He glaces over at Donica and walks over to her" You look like you should sleep in a little while."
Donica blinks, and a small smile"I am fine sur. And it was Private Zywie idea on the...late night story"She shrugs."I am to stay in camp today right?"
Velm nods,he frowns at the sur but says nothing "Yes, at camp.I may go into town I am unsure yet."
A small group of hares are departing Halyard, they can be just seen in the distance, two recruits pulling a cart set up on sledges to help it across the sand easily. Lieutenant Halsen of the Home Guard, three privates and General Quinten. Even this close to home the General can't just go wandering without an escort but he is making the best of it and enjoying the sea breeze through his ears as he heads for home.
Donica notes the frown "Wot's wrong?" She sounds concerned as she listens to him."Need company? We do have another healer in camp after all." She also notices the hares headed thier way.
Velm starts to reply and turns around, looking at the hares and after a bit IDs them as they get closer. He turns back to Donica,a smile"Company be nice...Donica, it's..been a while since we really talked,I have..missed it."
The small group of hares turns aside from the direct path to the town and the General walks toward Donica and Velm whilst his escort circle him, keeping their eyes peeled. "Afternoon hares," Quinten says with a smile, "How are things?"
Donica smiles, a salute to Quinten"Everthing is good sur just about to maybe go to Halyard with...Velm." She smiles at Velm"I missed your company too Velm."
Velm nods, a salute and nod."All good at camp sur, a bit of a...intresting time last night when some privates decided to do some scary story, other than that all is well." He glaces at Donica,a small smile and he is quiet."Yeah...umm" He digs in his pockets, yes he still has it ..the engagment ring she, well threw at him a few weeks ago, holding it out to Donica."Did you...still want this?"
Quinten tucks his arms behind his back and smiles at the pair of them, "I hope she does, I had my best uniform all laundered ready for a wedding and his Lordship was dusting off the old wedding book," he cants his ears back, "Well if all is shipshape Velm and the privates ae behaving I will leave you two to discuss things, I wouldn't want to be in the way."
Donica looks at the ring, a smile as she takes it, placeing it back on"Of corse...suppose now we just need to, set a date. for the wedding."
Velm smiles now, clearly happy and nods "Yeah...yes a date...soon maybe, real soon be great"
Quinten chuckles quietly at the happy couple, "Congratulations once again both of you, let's try to have less fireowrks and more wedding planning. I will let his Lordship know the wedding is back on. He was quite looking forward to it, it is his first chance to officiate at a wedding in ages."
Donica smiles"Well good then.I am unsure when be a good date though...maybe 3-4 weeks?"
Velm smiles"Sounds like enough time to get things ready"
Quinten says, "Well then I will leave you to your planning," Quinten salutes casually and wanders over to his escort, clearly intending to resume his return to the mountain."
Donica nods "Of course sur."She looks at Velm"So were we haeding to Halyard dear or elsewhere?"
Velm reples "Halyard, check on some things and maybe go to the tavern afterwards for dinner."
Donica smiles "Dinner at the tavern sounds nice"She takes his paw and goes to follow him into Halyard, after checking up on whats needed they do indeed have dinner at the tavern.

And pie baking contest too!
so where do we...make camp? Right by the entry to Halyard off the beach?
WHO:
Krisha-Badger Mother
Darian- Weasel and wants to be Novice
Gorvenalus-Abbey Recorder
LOG:
Krisha has been helping a lot with the abbot's duties so he can have a couple of days rest, as well as her own duties around the abbey. Right now she is looking over a couple of scrolls handing one back"Lacota is mainly in charge of the feast...and let's see...supplies look good, anything else I need to know?" She gets a shake of the head,"No Mother Krisha, thank you" And then she is on her own O
Gorvenalus walks in quietly, some tea he sits down"How are you doing Krisha?" He sits down across from her and for now lets her decide whether to chat or not.
Darian slowly, she sneaks her way in to the room, keeping her pawsteps light and her form close to the wall. When she sees the two familiar creatures, however, her small ears perk up, and her head lifts. "M-Mother Krisha?" she says, her voice soft, as though asking for permission to come forward.
Krisha looks at the tea and clears her throat "Better, Benar will likely be back to his duties tomorrow but I felt after the past couple weeks...he needed a few days rest." She hears, then sees Darian and smiles "Darian dear...its good to see you"
Gorvenalus nods "And trust me Matilda is making sure he rests."He nods a hello to Darian"Greetings"
Darian steps forward, looking a little hesitant as she glances between the two, then scurries up to Krisha and gives her a hug. "I'm sorry that I've been gone," she says softly.
Krisha smiles, returning the hug"Maybe it was...good you were. Things got a bit..."She sighs"Tense here for while, but it's better now."She pauses and asks "You didn't run into..Zolomon did you? Though by now he is supposed to be North of the bridge"
Gorvenalus sighs"Yes, I have yet to update the log book but I will soon.Rupert was kind enough to have a copy of the trail notes and everything."
Darian blinks, looking confused, looking to the beaver then back up to the Badger Mother, her head tilting to the side. "Th-The last time I spoke with Mr. Zolomon was several months ago. Why? Is he okay?"
Krisha takes a deep breath, then speaks"No....he has been banished from the abbey and here.He...he breached the peace treaty with the abbey and Ferravale. If he had just caused the disturbance in the marketplace I am sure it wouldn't of been as bad...but no..."She has to stop, ok do not get grumpy, and she manages to speak again"He killed someone in Ferravale, an old otter named Errpeal that was visiting.sadly I was there to witness it but was too shocked to react...I let the guards handle him cause I had to find Vonda...she is ok but she left the area and..I don't blame her."
Gorvenalus frowns"He was placed on trail....he is lucky he is alive, he could of easily be executed in FerrVALE"
Darian looks suddenly terrified. The weasel takes a small step back, her paws covering her mouth in an attempt to hide her shock. Slowly, her paws drop to her sides again. "Wh-Why would he do that, Mother Krisha?" she asks, glancing between her and Gorvenalus.
Krisha says, "I...do not know, the old otter was just trying to calm him, give him advice...only to be slamed into the wall, Vonda thought he was knocked out but...the old otter was dead. I didn't stick around to see the guards place zolomon in a cell but there was a trail a few days later, me..Lt Elbio,Benar and Matilda had to go to it..zolomon...changed, he is a threat now.I have no clue if...if he can be helped much now or not"
Gorvenalus says, "One never knows but the path he chooose to keep going down....it was best to send him away"
Darian stares between the two again, unsure of what to say or how to respond. The young weasel takes another step back, before looking away from them. "Did he... Did he hurt anyone else?" she asks.
Krisha says, "He knocked out some guards..."She frowns "He...attacked and....."She sighs."A small group of weasels on the road, one with a...dibbun.The mother and dibbun are safe in Ferravale now. There was a report of some robber band, but the weasels were not them.I have no idea who the robbers were though, they likely were just passing threw the area "
Gorvenalus pours tea for Darian , if she wants any and sips his own as he sits down to listen"A lot has happen young one, where were you doing this?"
Darian's ears droop some when she hears that. "Weasels?" she whispers. The weasel's legs wobble a little as she makes her way shakily to the table, standing next to Gorvenalus and holding on to the table with both paws. "Am I in danger?"
Krisha lays a gentle paw on her shoulder,if able, "No...Zolomion has been bandished north of the bridge on the road, may be wise to avoid the bridge though."
Gorvenalus says, "Not now, no. Zolomon seems to have....reawaken his urge to, as he said....take out all vermin."
Darian looks down at the table, staring at it, her expression showing absolute dread at hearing all of this. Darian's mouth hangs open and she appears to be trying to catch her breath. When Krisha sets her paw on her shoulder though, her eyes fill with tears. The young weasel turns to the Badger Mother and collapses on her, crying.
Krisha frowns and gentlely hugs her, letting her cry "Its ok...shhhhh your safe, and Lt. Elbio has gone to take a letter to Salamandstron to let them know what happen....its important they know what happen before rumors get to the mountin of what did or didnt happen"
Gorvenalus nods"It was wise yes.I just hope Lt. Elbio stays safe since he has his daughter Ciana with him.Seems the lass wanted to jion the Long Patrol prehaps.Lt. Elbio should be back before the snow falls, if not its likely he stayed and is back in the spring"
Darian sniffs, calming at Krisha's hug and gentle voice. The weasel wipes at her eyes with the back of her paw, her crying stopping but she doesn't move away from the Badger Mother's embrace. "Lt. Elbio was with me wh-when I met Zolomon. I'm sad I didn't get a chance to see him before he left." Darian sniffs, taking in a large breath. "I'm... going to stay in the Abbey, and not go out much. At least for a while."
Krisha nods "Sounds wise..."She smiles as she changes the subject "And your be just in time for authumn feast, its on a few short days.Even supposed to be a pie making contest"
Gorvenalus nods "Yes the feast is soon isn't it? Oh dear....almost forgot about it and there is still a good deal to do before the feast."
Darian rubs at both of her eyes, blinking several times to make sure all the tears are out. "Feast?" she asks, her ears perking up a little when she hears that. "I'd really love to be there for that." Now she even smiles a little.
Krisha says, "welll you do live here my dear"
Gorvenalus smiles, another sip of his tea"You could be a novice maybe Darian...didn't you want to learn to be a healer or help out with the defenders...they still need help if they are to keep the group running"
Darian smiles up at Krisha. "I do! I guess I'm a real Redwaller now, huh?" The weasel giggles lightly as she reaches her paw forward and takes the cup that Gorvenalus offered earlier. "I've been training a lot while I was away, and I think I'm getting really good at healing! But, um... what do I do to become a novice?"
Krisha smiles "Know the charter and recite it for Benar"
Gorvenalus says, "the charter is in the library....your also need to learn history, math, writting, reading as a novice"
Darian takes a sip of tea, looking up at Krisha again. "The charter?" she asks, then looks to Gorvenalus. "I'll go and start studying it. Abbey history I should be okay at! And, I can already read! Grandpa made sure of that." The weasel smiles, looking back up at Krisha again. "Do you think Abbot Benar would really be alright with me being a novice, Mother Krisha?"
Krisha says, "Of course." She watches her head off before speaking"Least they best, I am adopting her or do you think thats wise....i should ask firat shouldnt I."
Gorvenalus smiles"I think she may like that decision but yes ask her.But family is important to have and I am sure she would love to officially have one"
Krisha nods"Settled then. She will be part of my family...she will be safe and wanted.Caleb and oz shall be her brothers"
Gorvenalus nods, he stands "I have some writing to catch up on.See you later Krisha."
Krisha waves and leans back in her chair.A quick nap before she gets to dibbun duties, check on some things and find Darian toask about her feelings on being her daughter.
