Zoltar was not having a good day, in fact, the whole past almost 3 weeks was not going well for him so far. It began with that horrible storm and getting stuck in the Black Gull. He was there a week before he was knocked out for killing a couple of foxes. Zoltar was thrown out into the snow.

The only reason the wildcat was alive is 3 of the ferrets who worked for him...dug him out and managed to find some old abanded tent , the owner likely forgot about or simply didn't get back to but the tent....was not good enough, he needed better.

Misty sighed as she looked at her mate and young dibbun. They were a small family of rabbits, "Ok fine, but how do we get to Redwall? Its normally less than half a day, the roads are blocked now"

Her mate smiled" We can get there love, no worries my dear. You forget Timmy...our mole friend"

There was a knock on the door, if the rabbits opened it they be greeted with a grinning Zoltar" Do let me in...it's mightly cold out...wouldn't ya say sir mole...oh yeah your having a little trouble speaking...right" He dropped the mole, who had an arrow in his back, and he was dead.

Misty screamed and backed away from the door quickly.

Her mate first glared and then got the nearest weapon he had, the tool he used to move the wood around in the fireplace"Leave my home right now vermin!"

Zoltar chuckled, his 3 ferrets entered laughing, "Oh and your do..what exactly?" He smiled coldly as he came in as if some lost lost friend" Love what you done with the place.... it's warm, sure low on food but...I can get food, and firewood too."

Misty looked ready to run, but there were only one door and one window.

Her mate was not one that liked his family threatened and charged the wildcat with the fire poker!

Zoltar sighed and then quickly sidestepped and at the same time drew his blade and sliced off the rabbit's head with a chuckle, he looked at the mate."Leaving or staying? I do like guests...course if one makes me upset...well" He shrugs as if, yeah it's just too much energy to explain an answer.

Misty eyes widen, she held her baby close and jumped out the window, her plan was to get to the abbey even if it was slow going.

Zoltar again sighed and left the small cottage he and the ferrets found not too far down a path from the river, a path leading from the water...right to the cottage. He yawned and nodded as a ferret aimed a longbow, "Fire..then get her back here."

The ferret fires off the longbow knowing he rarely misses and its not like the rabbit can go very fast right now.

Misty makes it to the road, but that's all as she is hit and falls over dead, the crying infant falling from her paws onto the snow.

The ferret gets her, he leaves the infant there as he goes to the boss"What bout the...uhhhh....kid?"

Zoltar rolls his eyes"The cold will  take care of it, not a beast anywhere nearby, not in this weather"He smiles coldly" Rabbit stew for dinner?" The ferrets find vegetables, apples, pears, and jars of peaches in storage as well as dried fish, firewood was here...enough food to last 4 weeks likely, but in 4 weeks the boss would have a plan, yes he would indeed have a plan, in fact, he was already thinking of one and it would be great!
